A Million Worlds with You Audiobook Summary

The fate of the multiverse rests in Marguerite’s hands in the final installment of the Firebird trilogy by New York Times bestselling author Claudia Gray.

Ever since she used the Firebird, her parent’s invention, to cross through alternate dimensions, Marguerite has been at the center of a cross-dimensional feud. Now she has learned that the evil Triad Corporation plans to destroy hundreds of universes, using their ultimate weapon: another dimension’s Marguerite who is wicked, psychologically twisted, and always one step ahead.

Even though her boyfriend Paul has always been at Marguerite’s side, the Triad’s last attack has left him a changed man, and he may never be the same again. Marguerite alone must stop Triad and prevent the destruction of the multiverse. It’s a battle of the Marguerites . . . and only one can win.

In the epic conclusion to the sweeping series that kicked off with A Thousand Pieces of You, fate and family will be questioned, loves will be won and lost, and the multiverse will be forever changed.

"Wouldn't you love me if I were scarred, or sad, or hurting?" If I had to rate the book alone it would be something between 4 and 4.5 rounded down to four, but since this was the last in the series and I loved this series insanely... five stars it is, and with all my heart.•I am afraid I must once again redirect you to my reviews of the previous installments in the series, A Thousand Pieces of You and Ten Thousand Skies Above You , for what concerns the sciency part -so, mainly, the dimensional travel. I still think there are things that just don't make sense, and although in this finale once or twice Marguerite tries not only to explain, but to actually convince the readers that it does work that way and that it is reasonable, I can't help but think that the scientific side of this story is so leaky it holds but very little water. I'm usually very picky and meticulous when it comes to science, and when I say very, I mean really very (?). Funny and delicious and formidable thing about this series: this time around, I didn't care the littlest bit. Or rather, I cared in book one and, partly, book two, but then I just gave in to love. No point in fighting it anymore.•Another thing I'm normally very fastidious about and that, as I see it, it's fair of me to point out, is that sometimes the rules that govern the dimensional travel feel slightly too elastic. I'm referring in particular to (view spoiler)[the Romeverse destruction, when we find out that even though the whole point of the story is that destroying a universe automatically triggers the consciousnesses of the travelers in that universe to return to their bodies, this does not apply in one single, fateful case: when the soul had never been shattered and belongs to a perfect traveler. Meaning that if the Romeverse collapses when Marguerite is in there, she dies like an idiot in spite of her being this mythical perfect traveler, but the whole thing still stands because since Josie's soul was shattered, that means it can be retrieved, though only piece by piece (hide spoiler)].Now, one, it sounds waaaaaay too convenient, two, I don't see the logic behind the fact that if it's broken it comes back, if it's intact it stays there, and three, convenient again! You'd been warned: this random pulling out of ad-hoc rules really, really irks me.Bu again, Funny and delicious and formidable thing about this series: I didn't care! I was having fun, I was dying to know what would happen next and everyone was happy. Why would I want to complain? Besides, if it felt too much like the rules were being bent, at least it was consistent. The rules are never broken; the author only plays with them, if a little too freely. I can live with that. •One of my biggest fears for this book concerned Paul and the way he would deal with what happened to him, and they were, sadly, partly justified. The book sees him going through the you're-too-good-for-me stage, a trope that I personally despise a lot. I think I would have enjoyed it even more, had this issue been handled some other way. But Paul is still the cutest and sweetest guy that ever walked the Earth(s), and once again it was utterly impossible for me not to love him to pieces. I melt -melt- inside when, in that splendid chapter 21, he just walks in and tells them apart by sight alone. "-and you're mine."It was so perfect I could have died right there, on the spot. My heart did a double take, you know. Like I'd just jumped from a height, or taken off on a plane. Paul Markov is one of the hugest book crushes I've ever had, and I have no regrets. The fact that he's smoking hot certainly helps too. •Back to chapter 21, not only is it the cutest thing ever, or the most epic thing ever, or the most romantic thing ever; it also is the funniest. (Yes, I'm very much trying to make you curious about what actually happens in it. Me busted.)"I know, little brother," Theo says with a wry grin, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. "I had this dream too."•Claudia Gray is a master in storytelling -and you know I don't throw that around that easily. She knows the timing, she knows how to set the pace, she knows how to build a plot so that these three elements merge together in a perfect balance, so as not to make the story too slow nor too fast, too empty nor too packed. The are a couple of moments a little less brilliant that Gray's standard, a couple of useless conversations or episodes that, in my opinion, had to feel more emotional (this I blame on the writing, actually), but they are only a few and aren't very likely to spoil your reading experience. One instance could be (view spoiler)[Paul's supposed death. I could tell it wasn't real from the way it was written: it felt so flat. No way the actual death of a main character could actually be handled that way -too sloppy (hide spoiler)].So, yes, the plot is stunning. One universe after the other, one world after the other -fabulous. I had no breathing space and I didn't want any. So good.•Evil Theo. You actually brought tears to my eyes, man. And, Good Theo, you did too. Too precious for this world. (Good thing you have plenty at your disposal.)•If I had to point out another flaw, well, probably the villain's characterization was a little weak. Like the evil version of Marguerite's parents, who (view spoiler)[give up the very moment their project is sabotaged. It didn't feel right -it felt too easy, actually. Someone who was ready to destroy whole universes until a couple of minutes ago doesn't just give up like that. It wasn't believable (hide spoiler)]."We're not promised to be together no matter what. But in dimension after dimension, world after world, fate gives us a chance."➽ There's pretty much all there is to say. Obviously I'm lying, because in a minute my brain will be flooded with things I had to say and should have written in the review (I wouldn't feel comfortable if that didn't happen; with me, it's par for the course) but okay. What I can add is, this series gave me so much. It came in a moment when I really, really needed a story to obsess over (and a book boyfriend to crush over) and it perfectly fulfilled my expectations. I loved it immensely in spite of all its flaws, and I'm pretty sure someone, once, said that "in spite of" is the building block of love itself. It's easy to love perfection, but imperfection is what makes you you, which is also the message this series tries to convey. And to me, it got through.PRE-READINGEDIT 8/01/2016: CLIFFHANGER YOU HORRIBLE OMINOUS THING I HATE YOU AND YOU SHOULD BE DECLARED ILLEGAL.*tiny voice* But please, book, can you let them be together?EDIT 17/02/2016: Aaaaand COVERGood God have mercy on us and on the whole world and on Paul Markov *produces more drool than a snail and a dog combined* *ew what the heck did I just say*And it's Rome! Full review update! 4.5 maybe? It was really good- but I have a lot of feelings some of them mixed. The plot was just as wack as the first two which honestly is what makes this series so good. You can literally land anywhere - any universe/dimension/country... LITERALLY anywhere. This book is no exception- you'll get to visit some wild places. It picks up right where book 1 left off, and there are no unanswered questions. The first chapter will seem a bit out of place - but just go with it.In essence, this in entire story is just plain fun and Claudia Gray is a wild author and I love her for it. I'm interested in checking out her other series now for sure. -----------Spoilers Below (though the big ones are hidden)------------Here are some of the major highlights for me...-Theo. I love Theo. This is no secret, especially if you've read my other reviews. Everything about this guy. Theo is by far the best part of this book, and even in his evil form, he's got a good heart. HE LOVES HER SO MUCH UGH. Even evil Theo does something horrid but kinda redeems himself. Not to mention he has much more personality than Paul and he's just more interesting to read about. Plain and simple.-The scene with all the Marguerites is THE BEST. Not to mention completely clever and hilarious.-The grand duchess Marguerite might be my favorite character after Theo. (view spoiler)[The closure on her is PERFECT and yaaaasss she is with Theo. (They will definitely inevitably fall for each other because Theo is perfection and she will be powerless against his charms.) (hide spoiler)]-The crazy plot twists that make your heart stop beating! Seriously, Claudia... how do you come up with this stuff? Here's what didn't work for me this time...Honestly, I understand why people like Paul but I was just not feeling it. Marguerite was in a constant mental battle over him and I got a little tired of her drooling and going on and on about the guy. I don't hate him, but by golly I was over them two. That being said, (again, I really don't hate him..) but he was so completely unstable and I'm just not a fan of staying in unstable relationships. Don't get me wrong- I'm all for the "stick by the one you love" mentality (I've been with my husband for 10 years - married for 4 of those years.) But when you're in the dating arena, hanging around emotionally unstable men in those conditions can be toxic. (view spoiler)[I knew they would end up together but I'm still just "eh" about them. (Russian Paul is another story.. but bruh is gone.) (hide spoiler)]I also must add that all the journeys and dimensions got pretty confusing. Claudia did a pretty good job of keeping me on track for all that she threw at me but it was still a lot to take in and I found myself having to take several mental breaks. Overall Impression...Even though I'm not 100% happy with the ending, I still really love this series. Plus, I caught Claudia's twitter message when she says "Feel free to ship any of my characters. There are multiple dimensions and anything is possible!" So, I'm taking her advice, and I'm going to live in my little world of denial that there is any universe that Theo and Marguerite aren't together. Hah, seriously though- this is a fantastic series. I was SO worried going into this conclusion because I loved the first two books in the series so much and I thought that nothing could possibly live up to them. I was SO wrong. This series is absolutely phenomenal and deserves WAY more hype than it gets. Such an amazing series through and through. I fully intend to re-read this entire series for years to come. It was just so satisfying. LOVED IT.

I love it! This is so much better than the second book, a fantastic end to the trilogy. I was a bit skeptical about reading this because I was scared the author might not portray Marguerite fighting her other self well, but I was so wrong, it was so well depicted. The cliffhanger from book two was well handled here, the author did not drag it along but settled the situation in the first few pages. The love triangle finally came to an end, and no stupid jealousy and the like. The travels to other worlds here was so well portrayed, some were the ones from the first two books but others were new, and I have a new favourite world and its the cloneverse, its like nothing you've seen before in the series, if you think oceanverse was weird, well think again. The plot in total is amazing, I think this series is my best YA sc-fi so far, interdimensional travel has never looked this cool, there was more of scheming than the love in this and I like that, I hate when the romance is more than the actual plot in anything other than a romance novel.Lastly, I love the characters in this book, the character development was amazing, Theo is still my favourite of them all, I like Paul, Marguerite, her sister and parents also, like that they were all included in saving the universe or universes in this case.

A beautiful finale to one of the most inventive series I have ever read. This book was definitely not a let down and met all the standards the previous ones set. The entire book moves quickly, but it got even better after I passed chapter 18. We enter new dimensions but also revisit some of the previous ones, which was great. A Million Worlds With You brings together everything we've learnt so far and ties the story together in an amazing finale. The book starts of with the Marguerite from the home office taking over our protagonist's body. I especially liked the fact that the above mentioned problem is not dragged out, but rather used as a beginning to a book that moves way past it. Paul, whose soul was recently splintered and put back together, struggles with piecing himself back to what he was.I loved the structure of the world throughout the trilogy and the plot was framed well. Getting to know the characters in each dimension added a great depth to their character and its potential to change paths. Claudia Gray opens our eyes to the fact that each choice we make, however simple, gives away to various outcomes and reveals a whole new course for our lives.Just like the story itself, the covers of each book in the trilogy are marvellous and represent the nature of our protagonist and also provide a view of some the dimensions we visit, and they shall remain some of my favorite cover designs ever.

I... I'm so sad that this series is over now because I swear, I will never get enough of the infinite worlds and the beauty that Claudia Gray manages to bring to each and every one. This series will always be a favorite of mine, so fantastically well written and with a cast of characters that's unforgettable. It will make you contemplate what some of your worst features could possibly be given any sort of other circumstances or what will always remain, well... you. Reading this one just makes me want to start the series all over again. Without a doubt one of the most creative stories I've had the pleasure of reading. 2/19/16 OKAY BUT THE COVER IS SO PRETTY.

✅ World-building/Concept✅ Action✅ Characters✅ Plot/plot twists🆗 RomanceWe got to visit many places in this book and it's one of the things that I really enjoyed about this series: the unpredictability. We never know in which universe Marguerite will end up. There are some intense plot twists in this story, it kept me at the edge of my seat both times I read it. The relationship between Marguerite and Paul was a little weird in that book. I understand where Paul is right now with the splintering, but Marguerite spent so much time thinking everything over and fighting him over their relationship... I get that it is a logical part of the story, but I missed the old Paul and Marguerite at times. The ending was not as satisfying as I would have wished but I am still happy with this last book and I really enjoyed reading this series (both times)!A Thousand Pieces of You ⭐⭐⭐⭐Ten Thousand Skies Above You ⭐⭐⭐⭐Follow me on Instagram 🙂

4.25 STARS in every multiverse ★★★★✩ This book is for you if… you’re searching for a worthwhile ya series that is action packed and full of twists. This is a fantastic series. ⤐ Overall.Dead in the middle of this book it struck me that the Firebird books are total Netflix Series material. It's action packed, diverse and offers a lot of space for the art of filming and interpretation to be unleashed onto this matserpiece.Looking at the series as a whole and A Million Worlds With You in particular, I still have trouble pinpointing exactly what is missing for my excitement to leap to a full 5 stars. My reading buddy (and as of recently, also my art buddy) Dora adores the entire series and gave them 5 stars and I'd really like to join in on that. No such luck, though. It lacks the certain something for me to do that. Further, the ending was a bit too… [insert intense struggle for words here] … both uneventful and too smooth in my eyes; if the entire plot is action-packed, the ending needs to be almost over the top to fit the general atmosphere of the storyOn the plus side, the title finally made sense in this one, something Dora and I both have been criticising from A Thousand Pieces of You on.I don't want the negative parts to take up too much of this review, so let's just offer a minute of silence to one of my favourite book boyfriends, Paul Markov, the scientist. He broke my heart multiple times which is why I'll have no other choice but to write to Claudia and demand compensation for all the hurt.⤐ What’s happening. ‘This role doesn’t need an adventurer as much as it needs someone who can... look at each world with fresh eyes. Who can perceive things deeply. Not an adventurer—an artist. You were the one we needed all along.’ (My friend Dora, the most gifted artist, in a nutshell] But also this, sooo....)Again, Margeruite goes on an adventure, hoping to safe the multiverses. It doesn't take long for her to realise that even more might be at stake than several dimensions, as unbelievable as it might sound.. Con:⇢ enemy wears the same face⇢ every new world begins with a near-death situation⇢ the idea of fate is threatenedPro:⇢ alliance of the multiverses⇢ knowing yourself so well, you can beat...yourself⇢ Paul effing Markov _____________________ writing quality + easy of reading = 5* pace = 4* plot/story in general = 4* plot development = 4* characters = 4* enjoyability = 4* insightfulness = 4*

WOW🤩 I don't even know how to describe what I'm feeling. I have never read anything like this series, I loved the world-building, the characters, and all the events. You know it was good when after finishing I want to go find anything I can set in this world, a short story, novella, or literally anything! Ah now I'm definitely checking out more Claudia Gray books, I can't believe I never heard of her before. This is not coherent at all but basically I'm saying it's SOOOO GOOD GO READ IT OMG!😱🤯

“Fate doesn’t guarantee us a happy ending. We’re not promised to be together no matter what. But in dimension after dimension, world after world, fate gives us a chance. Our destiny isn’t some kind of mystical prophecy. Our destiny is what we do with that chance".Hay muy pocas veces en las que el libro final de una saga o trilogía me deja completamente satisfecha, pero A Million Worlds With You fue absolutamente fenomenal.

A good ending to the series, blessedly heartwarming, with some decent twists. I just wish it had been a little more...shocking. The ending was a little pedestrian for my tastes. I guess I expected something a bit more mind-blowing, but maybe this is for the best. RTC.
