Clash Audiobook Summary

The steamy sequel to Crash!

Their Romeo-and-Juliet-level passion is the only thing Jude and Lucy agree on. That, and fighting all the time . . .

Also not helping? Lucy’s raging jealousy of the cheerleader who’s wormed her way into Jude’s life.

While trying to hang on to her quintessential bad boy and also training to be the top ballet dancer in her class, Lucy knows something’s going to give . . . soon.

How can she live without the boy she loves? How can she live with herself if she gives up on her dreams? If Lucy doesn’t make the right choice, she could lose everything.

Let me grab a mic and say...I Love You Jude Ryder Jamieson!!This was a well written sequel and I did thorougly enjoy the ride. I read it in one sitting. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 stars is because it was excruciating for this Jude fan to read how repeatedly Lucy pushes him away. I shed tears for him being so in love and witnessing him being crushed was hearbreaking for me. Don't think I could ever turn my back on him in a million years! My wish for their future is that Lucy never ever walks away again or I promise I will be there to pick up the pieces!

Spoiler Free Review4.5 STARS out of 5Genre: Mature-YA RomanceSeries: Book #2 in Crash Series"I just wish I could trade in the roller coaster for a carousel. Able to anticipate what was around every corner, making the journey with less dramatic ups and downs." -Luce"I get that, but that's not the hand you were dealt, baby, Jude was the hand you were dealt, and that man is no carousel, Lucy. That man is the super-duper-looper, Six Flags, knee trembling roller coaster extraordinaire." -India her roomate My fave couple is back Jude and Lucy!!! Doing what they do best in Clash Clash has Lucy and Jude five hours away from eachother attending school in New York. Jude at Syracuse and Lucy at Julliard however the distance is not the issue as of late. The issue is the rah rah, pom pom carrying spirit sister from the cheer squad assigned to Jude. **Growls**Adriana Vix.When Luce hears that Jude has a busty, tight dress wearing bimbo all up in her mans face she let's her jealousy get the best of her. And Jude is not to happy about it. Instead of fiinding her jealousy cute it quickly gets filed under the "you don't trust me" category causing friction between the two. Of course he is unaware that the skank made her intentions crystal clear to Luce. By telling her she indeed plans to have Jude all to herself. I know i know how dare that SKANKY SKANK! Well i actually used more colorful words when i read that part.lol!!And just when you think they can get over one hump another hump manifest itself. Doubt....From bad to worse and some motherly adviceAfter Luce puts a can of WHOOP ASS on Adriana things take a turn for the worse....Luce caves in she becomes unsure if she wants the relationship to continue. This irked the living daylights out of me. When Luce is unsure what to do and NOT positive that the love her and Jude have is strong enough to be enough for them as a couple. Her mom says"Love is what brings you together, Lucy. But it's the blood sweat and tears of hard work that keeps you together."She then goes into more detail but i don't want to ruin it. This becomes a pivotal moment for Luce and it is also the boost she needs in the right direction.Fave SceneScene setup: When jealousy consumes Luce and gets the best of her because of all the girls wanting her man Jude sets her straight. Check this out"But you know what makes me say no everytime? You know what makes me impervious to every woman and whatever ploy she throws at me?" He didn't wait for my response. "You, Luce," he said his voice tired. "There may not be a shortage of Adriana's out there, but there's only one you. And that's the person I want to give my self to."*Swoon* And this is why i love him!Fave LineScene setup: After being injured in a game Luce and Jude get hot and heavy in a hospital bed. When the nurse comes in to check on Jude and to see why his Heart monitor went off then flatlined. She takes in the scene turns off the machine and says"At least you died and went to heaven." ThoughtsOh how i loved this book!**puts hands together and prays for a book 3**While Jude and Luce spent most of the book fighting i did not care i devoured every sentence. Be prepared Luce will put you through the ringer in this book and it was no cake walk. Some of the best parts is when Luce was given great yet totally unexpected advice from two unexpected sources. And it caught me off guard as much as it did her. This was shorter than the first book which is the main reason i did not give this 5 stars. In case your wondering. I also wanted a little more from the epilogue. My RatingsCharacters- LovableWriting Style- GoodPlot/Storyline- GoodSteam Factor- Medium/Moderatley SteamyOverall- I loved it!!!!Now go forth and read. Iba siendo un libro de 4 estrellas porque otra vez Lucy estaba en su papel de novia celosa, pero este final se merecía las 5 estrellas! Qué grande que es Jude Ryder! Me encanta!

LOVED this story!!! Jude Ryder is all kinds of sex-on-a-stick and he loves Lucy with such a Travis Maddox-like intensity, it makes him all the more appealing. If you are into teenage love stories with a hefty dose of angst, then this 2-book series is perfect for you! The first book, Crash, takes place during Jude & Lucy's senior year in high school. This is when they meet, fall in love, and, unfortunately, are faced with numerous external situations that end up dictating their relationship. The 2nd book, Clash finds Jude & Lucy at separate colleges hoping to maintain their long-distance relationship by relying on their relatively new-found trust. But when a cunning bitch sets her sights on Jude, will that tenuous thread snap and let trust be damned? Apart from what transpires and how it affects Jude & Lucy's relationship, this exciting segment of drama culminates in a brutal chick fight. Lucy may seem fragile because she is a ballet dancer and is small in stature, but you know what they say... "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned". That scene still has me smiling!Of course the road to an HEA for Jude & Luce is long, rough and scarred. But I've come to trust (almost) completely an indie author will bring her protagonists to the finish line in the most endearingly gratifying & sweetest way possible. Nicole Williams doesn't disappoint. This is mature YA at its best!Jude Ryder

I'm giving this one 3.5 stars. I really loved the first book, Crash, but had some problems with this one. I thought that the sequel was going to help me come to terms with those feelings. But I can't say I feel any better at the end of this book. Not that it didn't end well.... I don't want to bring up spoilers, but I don't know that I can keep from doing so. So if you don't want to know too much, then don't read this review until after you finish the book. I know that the nature of Jude and Lucy's relationship was tumultuous, to say the least, but I wasn't prepared for the complete and utter idiot, that Lucy was going to become. I know that it cannot be easy for anyone to be in a relationship with someone as popular and good looking as Jude... but the boy is CLEARLY in love with his girl... anyone can see that. And I know he has his issues, how could he not, coming from the background, but clearly he's trying. Beware: Spoilers!!What is Lucy's excuse? Other than the fact that she acts like a complete moron!!!!! I understand her walking out after the Adriana thing, it did look bad after all. But once she knew the truth... honestly, what was her problem. I was almost hoping he would tell her to forget it after a while. And what was that cat fight?!!!! I was not happy with this. Nothing like lowering yourself to such an idiotic level, that your reputation can never be redeemed!!! I just got disgusted at this point. Her indecision was maddening!!!!! He more than earned her trust, if you ask me. I know he still had some issues, but she knew how he felt about her. And her leaving the hospital without saying goodbye.... WHAT WAS THAT!!!!!!! I was just wanted to wring her neck!!!!I had a totally different feeling about the characters in this book. I was more supportive of Lucy in the first book. She seemed more mature, and able to handle the difficulties of their relationship, whereas Jude was all over the place. Now, with this book, it seems that opposite has occurred. Jude seems to be the one with his head on straight, and Lucy just acts like a whiny jealous idiot. I was finally appeased with the ending, but only because by the grace of God, Jude found it in his heart to take her back. (even though I didn't think she deserved it!) I wanted so much to like this book more, but found it left me annoyed each time I put it down. Lucy could have been a much better person, a much better character. I was let down by her immature decisions, and indecisive behavior. I wanted her to be more deserving of the love and loyalty she received from Jude..... When a guy gets down on one knee in front of an entire stadium of people to propose to you, you don't say "WHY NOT!!!!!" Bad answer. Ok.. I'm done ranting now. Who knows maybe I'll like it better after I get over my initial reaction. :) I may even bump it up to 4 stars because I loved Jude so much!!!

**5 "Jucy" Stars!!**I can't explain how much I loved this book. Jude is trying everything he can to do right by Lucy. He's tamed his temper, changed his "no dates, no girlfriend" rule, but jealousy is still rearing her ugly head. In this case, that would be Lucy. Although, it doesn't help with Adriana Vix in the picture. She's the definition of man-eater. She knows where to put her claws in a man to bring him to his knees; Guys salivate over her and come flocking when she bellows. Hope you're strapped in when you get to this book cause it's a roller coaster if I've ever seen one! But I loved every tortured moment of it!

A stunning sequel to Crash and an even more emotional journey for our beloved characters, Lucy and Jude, two young people carrying a lifetime of hurt on their shoulders. This story explores what happens after their apparent ‘happily-ever-after’, whether love is enough to erase the stains of the past and which things in life are truly worth fighting for.Lucy and Jude are back together. Their bond is stronger than ever and they are inseparable. They are in college now but in cities hours apart. However, that does not stop them from spending every free moment with each other. Lucy is studying to be a dancer while Jude is his college’s football star with a following worthy of a champion. Their devotion to each other is unquestionable but their relationship is also an unstoppable roller coaster where all they do is fight and make up, equally passionately. “Nothing was easy about our relationship. Well, nothing but falling hard for each other. Everything else was like trying to swim against a current. You never quite felt you were making much headway, but the journey made up for the lack of real estate.” Jude is still battling his demons, struggling to keep his anger at bay and be worthy of the woman he adores. He cherishes Lucy with all his being and considers her to be his whole world. Lucy, however, hates the flammable dynamic between them. She questions whether the love they share is worth the heartache they keep giving each other. She fears that something will eventually pull them apart and lives in constant anticipation of that ‘doom’. “It feels like sometimes I’m just waiting for the bottom to fall out beneath us.” But Jude keeps fighting for her tooth and claw, relentlessly reassuring her of what she means to him and giving her hope that even if ‘doom’ comes along, they would get through it together. “I know. When it does though, we’ll just grab onto a rope and wait it out.” Their biggest obstacle in this book is their young age and inability to see the big picture. While Jude is light years ahead of Lucy in terms of knowing what truly matters in life, he is still allowing his anger to rule his reactions and cannot see past his mistrust of people, occasionally even of the woman he loves. He is possessive of her and jealous of every guy that looks her way, hiding at the core of his anger a deep fear of losing her. Lucy, on the other hand, is stuck in some utopian notion of what perfect relationships should be like and she keeps convincing herself more and more that they would be better off apart. All it takes is the first big test of implicit trust between them and they fail miserably. What follows is a heart-wrenching, soul-shaking, pulse-igniting, fasten-your-seatbelts-and-don’t-look-down kind of roller coaster ride of two people who perhaps love each other too obsessively. Their ups and downs shook me deeply. I was a complete mess at times, screaming ‘nooooooooo’ in my head, wanting to head-butt Lucy for hurting a man who was willing to give everything up for her. But she was hurting herself as much as she was hurting Jude, her insecurities digging a hole in her heart deeper and deeper. “I loved him, but I shouldn’t. I trusted him, but it wasn’t natural. I wanted him, but I couldn’t have him.” The happy ending is inevitable so we are rewarded in the end for all the pain and suffering caused by the events in the book, but it is a bittersweet happiness in my opinion as the sceptic in me fails to believe that the type of doubts and reservations that were weighing Lucy down could be solved so easily and so effortlessly. I would have preferred them to work at it a bit more rather than just be ‘served’ the solution to their problems on a silver platter. I felt it somewhat trivialised their struggles and the heartbreak they put themselves through but I reminded myself, again, that this is a YA story, one that is meant to inspire young minds to believe in love conquering all. “Love isn’t easy. Especially the really good kind. It’s difficult, and you’ll want to rip your hair out just as many days as you’ll feel the wind at your back. But it’s worth it. It’s worth fighting for. Don’t let what isn’t real blind you from what is. Life isn’t perfect, we sure as sh*t aren’t perfect, so why should we expect love to be?” Beautifully said? Definitely. A tad simplistic? Hmmm.Maybe I’m a cynical b*tch who believes that two eighteen-year-olds can solve world hunger more than she believes that they could decipher the complex formula that is life and love, but I will stand proudly here and admit that I really enjoyed this book, regardless of all the drama. It is a skilfully written story that grabs you from the beginning and doesn’t let go until the end. It could have been a bit longer, it would have given more credibility to the resolution of the storyline, but it was extremely enjoyable nonetheless.[4.5 STARS]~ N ♥See this review on my blog!

Well Jude is definitely as hot as ever and I do love Luce, but she really annoyed me at one point and I wanted to yell at her what was she thinking. I think this book had more ups and downs than the first . I could see the initial angst coming, but wasn't prepared for all the ups and downs to follow, every time I thought things would work out and I felt relieved, I turn the page and my relief was short lived! An enjoyable Sunday morning read.

I really liked this book it was very well written, it had everything I love; swoon worthy moments, emotional heart break, JUDE, angst and lots of romance…oh and it had JUDE!!!!It was a really quick read and through most of it I was either pretty peeved off or my heart was breaking! This story, to me, was basically all about trust and the question if love can possibly survive when trust is being chipped at continuously or when jealousy rears its ugly head?!Clash begins where Crash ended and sees Jude and Lucy attending college. Jude, being the star on his football team, is assigned a “Spirit Sister”; enter super bitch Adriane, who is adamant she is meant for Jude and will do anything to steal him away from Lucy.I disliked Adriane intensely, what a cow, I completely understood Lucy’s initial issues with her and why she was left insecure and vulnerable! So yes I got Lucy…to a point! She quickly started to grate on me with her behaviour and her treatment of Jude. It got cruel, it really did, yes I know I am biased because I love Jude, but really that boy did not deserve the extent of her treatment of him! My sympathy started to run out and I have to say Jude deserved a medal for still being there waiting. Did she redeem herself? Yes but barely!“I’ll be here when you’re ready. No matter how long it takes. I’ll always be here, Luce. I’m yours,” he breathed, squeezing my hands, “forever.” – JudeJude (sigh) still has this fiery temper which he is battling to tamper down so that he can prove he is worthy of Lucy’s love. Lucy is his world (lucky girl)! I have to say Jude is one of my fave’s still, despite the fact that he let Lucy walk all over him at timesLucy worries that their relationship is all about extremes, it’s either really good or it is really bad. The emotional heartache she believes they can inflict on each other persistently weighs on her mind so she comes to the conclusion that perhaps they would both be saner and happier apart. At least that way, when it all blows one day, which she is sure it will, it won’t hurt as much as it would early on in their relationship. Yes, I can see that, but to me that is avoidance tactics, no way would you let a man like Jude go because he has passion and intensity! Right?!Did I like this book after all that? No…I loved it because it got my emotions running high, I felt the heart break and love and despite the issues I had I felt the story!! Oh and it had JUDE!!!!

"Love is like a seed. You’ve got to plant it to grow. But that’s not all. You need to water it. The sun needs to shine just enough, but not too much. The roots have to take hold. And from there, if it pops its head above the surface, there are about a million things that could kill it, so it takes a whole lot of luck too.” 4.5 stars for Clash only because Lucy didn't learn anything from her mistake in Crash.I would have rated with 4 but in the end she changes(and I hope it will last) and does a big gesture to win Jude back.I always praise the evolution of a character.Jude is the same Jude we saw in Crash. Not that is a bad thing. He is understanding and lets her go even though that breaks his heart and is more mature. The story is more complicated and has more agony. After high school Lucy goes to Julliard and Jude plays football.Of course he kicks asses and seems to have a bright future as a player.Adriana his Spirit Sister is a total bitch and tries to steal him.No matter what he says to Lucy she believes he is going to sleep with her and has her insecurities. What happens when Adriana has a plan to break them up that actually might work? Will Lucy believe him or will she give them up without a fight?Clash is one of the few books I cheered and did my happy dance when the couple had sex for the first time.It wasn't like I expected it to be but the way it happened was better.I loved the scene before the epilogue after she makes up her mind. Now I can safely say that the microphone confessions of love and the acceptance of their mistakes they make is a Jude and Lucy thing. In less than 12 hours I fell in love with the Crash duet (and soon trilogy).

I give this 4.5 stars. I know some people thought Lucy wasn't written very well in this book. Once I read it all the way through I was agreeing and disagreeing with that. Jude in this book stepped up to the plate in every sense of the meaning. School, football, temper, and trying the only way he knew how to prove his love for Lucy. Lucy was so confused by the amount of love she felt for Jude that she didn't know if it was right or wrong love. Because of the "roller coaster" she doubted them. I think most of all she doubted herself. I was glad to see she had a heart to heart with her mom. The mom was so shut off and jaded that it affected Lucy more than was realized. Her dad too. I was happy with the ending and weirdly I would like to see a book 3. I know I saw mixed feelings in reviews and I see what. You guys meant, but overall I liked the story and characters. Jude especially.
