End of Days Audiobook Summary

Pike Logan must stop a deranged killer hell-bent on igniting an international conflagration in this explosive, action-packed thriller from New York Times bestselling author and former special forces officer, Brad Taylor.

When a paragliding trip over the picturesque mountains of Switzerland results in the brutal murder of the former head of Israeli intelligence, Mossad brings in terrorist hunters Aaron and Shoshana to investigate. But they’ll need help to find out who was behind the attack and what they’re planning next. Luckily, Aaron and Shoshana know exactly who to call.

Taskforce operators Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill have been trapped in Charleston, South Carolina during COVID-19, so when Aaron and Shoshana show up on their doorstep with Israeli passports and a new mission, they jump at the chance to assist their friends. Some suspect that Keta’ib Hezbollah, an Iranian-funded militia group operating in Iraq, might be responsible for the “accidental” deaths of key members of the American and Israeli governments. But something isn’t adding up, and Pike, Jennifer, and the two Mossad operators are determined to find the real assassins before more people are cut down.

As they stumble upon the trail of a serial killer loose on the streets of Rome connected to the deaths and follow evidence leading to the exalted Knights of Malta, they must wade deep into the contentious religious and political fractures of Israel and the greater Middle East. It’s a dangerous world where fanatics and legitimate organizations exist side by side, and it’s up to the Taskforce to determine who is really pulling the strings. What they find could have disastrous consequences not only for them, but for the entire world…

Taskforce operators Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill have been trapped in Charleston, South Carolina during COVID-19, so when Aaron and Shoshana show up on their doorstep with Israeli passports and a new mission, they jump at the chance to assist their friends. I love this series and reading about Pike and Jennifer for the 16th time feels like visiting old friends. I think the character development is the strongest part of this series. Storywise, this is not the best book in the series but it's still a very thrilling and action-packed book as you can expect from Brad Taylor. It's well-written with a lot of humor in the dialogue. If you like thrillers then I highly recommend this book. Thanks to the author, Harper Colllins and Edelweiss for the privilege of reviewing an advanced copy of End of Days.

READ MY FULL REVIEW AT Best Thriller BooksAn all too realistic story that combines theology, history and Middle Eastern politics with crazy bad guys and bursts of violent action. This is a must read that will help you properly kick off 2022 in style. Make sure to check out the full review

In the 16th installment starring Pike Logan, a group sets out to try and force the U.S. and Israel into a war in the Middle East to be the catalyst to The 2nd Coming of Christ depicted in the book of Revelations. An overwhelming majority of thrillers involving terrorism the last 20 years have featured Islamic extremists. We often forget other religions have extremists and Taylor deftly reminds us Islam doesn't have a monopoly on crazy. Compared to other Logan books, End of Days is light on the action. By a lot. Taylor took a risk and it paid off brilliantly. I'm sure the deviation caused him a few sleepless nights. The best decision of Taylor's writing career has to be creating the Israeli team. Because of it, he has an almost endless supply of storylines. The best of the group is Shoshana, who is an enigma wrapped in an enigma. The juxtaposition between the fearless apex predator with the emotional maturity of teenager is endlessly fascinating. She just wants to be loved like everyone, yet she's like no one else. Some how, Taylor continues to improve as a writer and has cemented his self as one of the best of the best. My sincere thanks to Brad Taylor, William Morrow and Custom House, and Edelweiss for the privilege of reviewing an advanced copy of End of Days.

Pike Logan is back with his friends and once again he has to work around the oversight commitee, but this time Wolfe will help them. End of Days by Brad Taylor is one of the better ones in this series and the character development is going great. This time it's his Isralian friends that needs help. We also have to deal with a great character in an Italian police officer. I prefer the early books in the series but Taylor is a master at describing places around the world, it could be because of all his travel and research. He always has a good flow in his writing. If you have missed his books I recommend that you amend this by start reading them at once. I must thank @this_is_edelweiss @harpercollins and @williammorrowbooks for giving me this advance copy and @bradtaylorbooks for writing this stuff.

I won this book through Goodreads and like always, Brad Taylor did not disappoint. The action starts when a former Israeli Head of Intelligence is supposedly killed in an accident. Then a U.S. Ambassador is killed with threats of more coming. As always, they turn to Pike Logan and his team plus two Israeli operatives to get to the bottom of this and prevent any more killings. An Iranian group has claimed responsibility but there's something else going on. They discover it's a deranged serial killer who is trying to bring on Armageddon and fulfill Bible prophecies and thereby erase the entire Islamic religion. The killer is a member of the Knights of Malta and he plays on the religious and political split between Israel and the rest of the Middle East. The U.S. is desperate to stop him before he causes another World War III.

Brad Taylor has been one of my favorite thriller authors of all time and I was delighted to receive an ARC of his latest, END OF DAYS, a reference to the apocalypse found in the Bible. Brad Taylor has added a new twist to the conflict in the Middle East. He explores a new facet added to the battlefi

ebook ARC Review - Brad Taylor’s “End of Days” is the sixteenth thriller in the Pike Logan series. Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill team up with Israeli Mossad friends Aaron and Shoshana to try and stop terrorists from bringing on ‘Armageddon’ between the Israelis and the rest of the Middle East. A deranged terrorist leader and his group try to cause a world war by creating the ‘end of days’ according to the Bible prophecy in the Book of Revelations. An overwhelming majority of thrillers involving terrorism have featured Islamic extremists and Taylor reminds us in this exciting story that this radical villain does have a monopoly on ‘crazy’. Nevertheless, the plot, storyline and character development were brilliant! One of the best characters Taylor has created in the series is the Israeli Mossad team of Aaron and Shoshana. Because of them, Taylor has developed an almost endless supply of storylines when they join with the Taskforce. Shoshana’s character is mystical, she is a puzzle wrapped in an enigma. The contrast between the fearless apex predator with the emotional maturity of a teenager is endlessly fascinating. She just wants to be loved like everyone else, yet she's like no one else. I absolutely love her character and the humorous bantering between she and Pike. Although End of Days was lighter on the action and more on the history and politics than previous Pike Logan novels, the story was one of Taylor’s most suspenseful and well thought out narratives. It was a captivating geopolitical tale that was all too realistic and very well researched. It's well-written with a lot of well-placed humor and some serious history lessons on Middle East politics. Taylor continues to cement his self as one of the best in the thriller genre. End of Days was a good mix of Middle East politics, religion with some sufficient action. Great read to start 2022! Thank you Netgalley and publisher William Morrow & Company for the ebook ‘Advance Reader’s Copy’ (ARC).

** spoiler alert ** I'd give this book a 3.5 out of 5. Not my favorite Pike Logan thriller but I blame that on a few things. 1. Covid interrupting Brad's usually writing style of visiting places. 2. I'm getting married this year so my usual pace of reading has been really slowed down. Took me practically 2 months to finish this book. Maybe that helped effected the rating alittle. Couple gripes I had was 1 Shoshana was really annoying and too much this novel. Again maybe its me, but every scene with Shoshana I was annoyed with and she is one of my favorite characters. 2. Similar plot of the last book American Traitor with the end goal being all out War. Before it was Taiwan and China and this one being Israel and Iran. The best things about this novel I will say is Knuckles and Brett. Those two are so funny together and the ending story was hilarious. Needless to say I'm excited for the next one as Covid restrictions have eased up. I do want to see more from Jennifer as I feel she hasn't had a defining moment in awhile. And Veep, why is he always babysitting and not out kicking butt. Lets get Veep in the action some!

Another great contribution, the 16th, to the Pike Logan/Jenifer Cahill "Taskforce" series...Just before Pike and Jennifer's wedding, Israeli assassins, Aaron and Shoshana, beg for Pike, Jennifer and the Taskforce’s help to head off a "false flag" attempt to ignite WWIII...Other than a kind of anti-religion angle, it a really fun, action-packed read!

The sixteenth entry in Brad Taylor's Pike Logan series, End of Days, has an unusual enemy: ultra-radical Catholics who have embedded themselves within the Knights of Malta, who have co-opted a Shia terrorist group to lash out at several Israeli targets. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Taskforce has been put on stand down, but that doesn't stop Shoshana and Aaron (the former Mossad assassins and mainstays of the series) from asking Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill in assisting them in unraveling the puppet masters. They quickly unravel a conspiracy with Biblical implications and battle in an attempt to bring the conspiracy to a halt.My only complaint about the novel is that I wish we would have received additional background on the primary antagonist. He has a very compelling backstory, but there's still much we don't know about him after the conclusion of the novel. I do applaud Taylor for switching things up. In the previous book, American Traitor, the Taskforce was pitted against the Chinese. This time, the aforementioned rogue elements of the Knights of Malta both provide an education on the organization and help to switch things up in a unique fashion. As always, Taylor's research, knack for characterization, and penchant for hard-hitting kinetic action shine throughout the book. On the topic of research, I am impressed that he cobbled this plot together based upon research from previous books that didn't make it to the page. That is a fantastic example of adapting to the circumstances presented by the pandemic.I'm definitely looking forward to the next entry in the series!

Brad Taylor has always been one of my favorite authors due to his finesse and ability to create such an amazing character like Pike Logan. Logan is nothing short of a badass and he is continuously at the forefront of the to-be-read books when they become available. I have also had the pleasure of meeting Brad and his lovely wife Elaine here in Charleston SC, and if you have the opportunity do not pass it up. They are some of the most down to earth people and are extremely fun to be around. Pike Logan and girlfriend/wife to be Jennifer Cahill, ‘Koko’, are gearing up for a huge day, but are they ready for the End of Days. The wedding she wants, small and informal, with just the closest of friends and family, is here and she’s ready to relax. As they’re preparing for the big day, a small team of religious radicals, not the normal ones, are on the prowl to start World War III. The kind of war that attempts to eradicate an entire group of people. Shoshana and Aaron, former Mossad, are in Charleston, SC preparing for the Logan/Cahill wedding when they decide to ask for help. Without Taskforce assistance they will be hurting. The team is on the hunt in an Alpha mission to find out why prominent Americans and Israelis are turning up dead. With everything leading towards a Hezbollah linked operation, funded by Iran, the Taskforce begins to work. Pike and the team fight through mysterious killings in Italy and even have to dodge a casual car bomb while on the hunt for the notorious ‘Ninja Turtles’. The mismatch of Israeli contractors and American shadow figures finally get HQ Taskforce backing to help and find the people responsible for the heinous attacks on civilians leading them through Syria and Israel. Splitting a team up is never a good choice but considering the villains in play, the Taskforce splits as the tension ratchets up while guns, bombs, and God are at nothing but the forefront. Taylor crafts a modern-day thriller built on biblical prophecies that will have you glued to the pages. It’s not a chest bumping religious novel, it’s the cruel and callous Pike Logan that we have all come to know and love. He’s dangerous, ruthless, and what America needs as he wreaks havoc on bad guys all over the globe. Taylor’s research and imagination are full of action-filled scenes and endless bloodshed. Pike and Koko, along with the rest of the Taskforce, are always ready for a gunfight and this one will not disappoint.

You have got to hand it to Taylor to keep this series fresh after 16 entries. He might be the best of the writers who have been at it this long. Through the first three quarters, I thought this was going to be one of his best. Unfortunately, he lost track of his pacing and held back the action. Still a worthy effort.

Another great thriller special ops book by former Lt Colonel of Army special ops/ Delta operator. Great characters mixed with humor that at times had me laughing out loud.

Brad Taylor's series, Pike Logan and his team, once again operate with precision that would seem haphazard to the perfectionist and precise to the haphazard. They definitely enter the fray with only the most basic understanding and as a team, bring their skillsets to bear and dominate the enemy by relying on their intuition and understanding the endgame based on the characteristics of their actions, all the time having to overcome the general skepticism of their leaders, including Wolffe, the Task Force commander. Pike is the tip of the multi-pronged spear leading the US and it's allies into the fight. In this case, their Israeli "friends" Aaron and Shoshana need their help to find who is killing their intelligence assets as Mossad contractors without the full backing of the institution, so they turn to Pike's team for help. And how can they say no? They owe them. Religious zealots are trying to bring about Armageddon or the End of Days as it is known in the Book of Revelations by thrusting Jews, Muslims and Christians into the prophecized last war before the second coming of Christ. This is a very well-written novel with plot twists that are extremely well-constructed. Taylor, once again, tops his last effort.
