Fins Are Forever Audiobook Summary

Tera Lynn Childs’s sequel to Forgive My Fins offers another tail-flicking romance with plenty of fun, sun, and underwater adventure.

On Lily Sanderson’s eighteenth birthday she’ll become just a girl–still a mergirl, true, but signing the renunciation will ink Princess Waterlily of Thalassinia out of existence. That leaves plain old Lily living on land, dating the boy she loves, and trying to master this being-human thing once and for all.

Now that Lily and Quince are together, mer bond or not, she’s almost content to give up her place in the royal succession of Thalassinia. But just when she thinks she has everything figured out, the waves start to get rough.

Lily’s father sends a certain whirlpool-stirring cousin to stay with her on land. What did Doe do to get herself exiled from Thalassinia and stuck in terraped form when everyone knows how much she hates humans? And why why why is she batting her eyelashes at Lily’s former crush, Brody?

The seafoam on the raging surf comes when a merboy from Lily’s past shows up–Tellin asks Lily for something that clouds her view of the horizon. There’s a future with Quince on land, her loyalty to the kingdom in the sea, and Lily tossing on the waves in the middle.

Will she find a way to reconcile her love, her duty, and her own dreams?

Fins are Forever hit the perfect spot with me and I enjoyed this one even more than the start of the series. The book starts out with Lily deciding she will give up her capacity as a princess on her birthday and live on dry land to resolve the conflict she has with her human side. Things are going swimmingly with Quince and she finds the perfect career to strive for as a marine ecologist. Of course, something goes terribly wrong when her wicked cousin, Dosinia turns up on her doorstep. There are some almost slapstick moments in the book when Lily discovers herself stuck with her human hating cousin. Doe has committed some unspeakable offense in the mer kingdom that causes her to be banished without any powers and is sent to live with Lily to redeem herself. The big twist here is that Lily is the one to judge if Doe has been rehabilitated and can accept humans in her life. Doe makes good on that one by falling in love with Brody who she promptly kisses. The ending left a lot of things open and to me it seems that there is hope that Lily may regain her ability to rule the mer kingdom. I can't wait until the next installment. I received this review copy at no cost from Around the World ARC tours in exchange for my honest review.

more reviews hereI don’t usually read many mermaid books but this series has me blown away. In the last book Lily ad drama unfolds, lily is crushing on the popular guy at school, while a Quince pines away for her every second he can. Quince and Lily bond and they have to go to the castle to separate. She doesn’t want Quince to turn into a merman. Now we have the second book in the series where Lily and Quince are in love with each other, she has to make a huge decision in her life, she has to bond with someone before her 18th birthday or she will be a normal girl and leave her castle underwater. But before she can make her mind up, drama comes in the way, her royal cousin who she hates shows up on her doorstep, Doe has been cast out of the sea and can’t go back till she learns her lesson. The only problem is Lily doesn’t know when she will learn her lesson, Lily has to take Doe to school and what does she see her ex-crush and her cousin Doe flirting. Not only does she think this is the worst idea ever Doe is not abiding by any of the rules. Doe breaks the one rule Lily told her not to do, don’t kiss Brody. You see once a mermaid kisses someone else they become bonded and they are attached to each other. Only the king (lily’s dad) can separate them. Thankfully everything worked out at the end, happily ever after. There better be a third book!I really did love this book. I have been waiting forever to read the sequel to forgive my fins and finally it shows up in my mailbox. Fins are forever didn’t disappoint. I love how Tera Lynn Childs can create such an enticing story.5/5 stars

I just love it when a sequel can live up to the expectations that a reader has after reading the first book in a series! With Fins Are Forever, the author did an amazing job of making the second book just a fabulous as the first!Lily is getting ready to turn eighteen and give up her place as future Queen of Thalassinia. She loves the human world and is looking forward to a future with Quince on land. She thought she just had problems with trying to figure out the answers to the SAT questions, but little does she know that bigger problems are about to arrive in the form of her cousin Doe. After Doe is exiled from Thalassinia, she must live with Lily on land and learn to accept humans. Doe loathes humans since the death of her parents a while back and can't stand anything about them. This all starts to change though when Doe meets Brody, Lily's previous crush. Without getting into too many spoilers, I will say that some of the antics that Doe initiates was hilarious and typical of her spoiled brat personality. I could feel the frustration that Lily was going through in dealing with Doe on land. Even though this is a young adult paranormal read involving an underwater kingdom, the author makes the characters feel like regular humans with ordinary teen problems. Okay, well sometimes they are ordinary teen problems and sometimes they are mermaid problems! Another amazing and fun book written by a fabulous author! Fins Are Forever is a wonderful follow-up sequel to Forgive My Fins and it definitely did not disappoint!

How fun was this book! I liked Forgive My Fins, the first book, but I loved Fins Are Forever. This had more twists and turns than the first one. I love Lily’s voice. She’s gotten funnier than she was in Forgive My Fins. I can see how she and Quince *sigh* were really the perfect match; jiving and taunting each other playfully then mushily cuddling and saying sweet-nothings the next. I also like seeing her struggle with the human customs such as tests, college, all that sort. She was just so cute being so stressed out and her underwater/sea-related reactions like, “son of a swordfish,” were so entertaining. Quince *heavier sigh* lived up to his perfect boyfriend image, we all know there’s no such thing as a perfect boyfriend, but I love how he befitted the persona. It’s nice to see a deeper side of Doe, who I hated at first, and Brody as well.I also liked that I got to know more about Lily’s kingdom, Thalassinia, and the other places in the aquatic, mermaid world. This is such an enjoyable, funny, romantic light read that I finished sooner than I expected. Although, I do have to ask; is there are third book? 'Coz I'd really be happy if there was. This was a great, fun sequel to Forgive My Fins! I had been so looking forward to reading this book, and it didn't disappoint! Lily is still such a fun character (and I love her little quips and sayings that have to do with the ocean...although I think there was more in the first book and would have loved there to be more in this one.) And Quince. Sigh. Another "bad boy" type that isn't really a bad boy. Loved him! This book is definitely a light, fun read. I'm not sure if there is going to be a third book in the series, but if there is one, I'll definitely be picking it up!

Just as much fun as the first one! I love that this trilogy is simple, light-hearted fantasy without an epic villain to worry about. It makes for a fun escape from the world for a little while.

Yet another great underwater story filled with adventures, love and many mishaps. I couldn’t wait to pick this book up after reading the first in the series and I have to say I have not been disappointed yet. I love Lily and her crazy life, funny jealous and sarcastic boyfriend Quince, and of course everything in her life is turned upside down in the novel where she begins to feel the pressures of her actions and choices and needs to decide what is best for both herself and her kingdom. God, I can’t help but smile whenever I read about Quince. About when he kisses her and when she can barely resist the temptation to touch his biceps at random. I can’t help laughing when she almost flies through the air wanting to strangle her cousin and others need to keep her at bay. And best of all I love when she gets distracted and comes up with funny excuses to her actions. The character of Lily is a funny awkward girl that carries the world on her shoulders while still trying to remain normal. But, of course, she’s far from normal. This merprincess knows how to hold her own and make a mark in the life of those around her.The fin flicking tale leaves me wanting more of everything. Sure the romance is fantastic in this novel but the mishaps, the characters, and the beautifully described underwater worlds are what make me want to come back and read more. I smile at the idea of her cleaning algae off the roofs of the buildings and I smile at the idea of her crashing Quince’s motorcycle so many times he’s almost calling the lessons quits. I just love it all.Good:Lily—very funny, very strong, and very very stubborn.Quince—this man can be jealous over me anytime. Those biceps, that smile, the wink, the sarcasm, the biker boots, and the love that he has for Lily. What girl wouldn’t swoon over that?Tellin—this is going to get very interestingDoe—I like her role in this oneBrody—I like him better in this oneBad: Sadly because Quince and Lily are finally together their banter and sarcasm is less and less and I found this one not as funny as the first. In the first even when they were yelling at each other I was smiling and laughing. But if I have to settle for them being in love…well I guess I can.Overall (Writing style, story line, and general):Overall I love Tera Lynn Childs’ writing style. I never find anything wrong with it and never have to re-read it. And the fact that she can remember to put in so much aquatic related slang makes me quite proud to list her as one of my favourite readers. Overall this book was an aquatic adventure that brought me into another world, made me think about our actual world and environment and left me smiling and utterly happy.Viewer Type Recommendation:If you are a mermaid lover, or someone who loves a romantic comedy (of sorts) this is one for you.If you liked this you'll probably love:Hush, Hush, 1-800-Where-R-U series, The Mediator Series, Jessica’s Guide to Dating on the Dark SideView more of my review and others at my blog: www.mynotsovacantshelf.blogspot.com

OH WOW, I love this series!!! This book was Crabbtastic!! In Fins are Forever the story continues right where Forgive My Fins left off with Lily being madly in love with Quince but deciding that she is interested in giving up her crown in Thalassinia as future queen to stay as a human on land forever with her boyfriend Quince and seek out college and a new life.Forgive my Fins was great and so I had high expectation for Fins are Forever to be equally good!! However, I think that Fins are Forever was better than my expectations! I devoured the book as fast as possible and might even go back through and read it again! You know the author is great when the second book in the series doesn't have the case of "boring middle book" syndrome but is just as exciting as book one!The new twists of Lily's bratty younger cousin Doe showing up was great! She is one of those characters you hate but find a bit amusing and appealing! The trouble she brings to the book adds a bit of additional humor to the story that is great! Again, the plot in this series is unlike anything I've ever read and is so engrossing that it is hard to imagine waiting for the additional books in the series to be released! The ending was a bit predictable but still not disappointing in the least. The romance is of course the most important part of this story and I loved it in Fins are Forever. I wish there were more kissing scenes between Lily and Quince but what Childs gives us is great! There was a mild make-out session between 2 other characters but it was all done very clean and I would say this book is appropriate for any age group! One of my favorite things about Tera Lynn Childs writing is that her stories are fun, easy going, delightful but so engaging that you are thinking about the story for a long time after reading it and it is hard not to compare every other mermaid book out there to this outstanding series! This was a great summer read that you should run out and buy even if you are not a young adult! I am almost 30 and this book has made my favorites list! Not sure how I will survive waiting for book 3.

Read the review at iLive, iLaugh, iLove Books.Once again Tera Lynn Childs has spun a flippin' fantastic story with her hilarious writing. This sequel to Forgive My Fins is a little more dramatic than the previous, with more romances and a lot more pressure on Lily to make the right decision. Her life seems to be falling apart as she struggles to keep her cousin out of trouble while studying for her SATs, which will probably determine her future on Earth.Lily has grown a lot, and I'm glad to see that. She was still as funny as before, but she's learned to think things through. However, she's sometimes slow to make decisions, and that indecision aggravated me a bit. Just like the previous book, she's swimming around the issue without really meeting it. Dosinia, Lily's cousin actually kind of amused me. She didn't make me want to tear my hair out like Lily probably did, but that might've been because Lily's snarky comments about her cousin kind of toned that down. Her cousin, though, does have some jaw dropping moments. Her actions are unbelievable, really. I can't say much else without giving the plot away. While I do feel that Quince and Lily are perfect for each, I was sad that Quince wasn't present in the book as much. In the first book he obviously showed his love to Lily, but in this one, he just acted like the typical we're-together-now-so-I'm-safe boyfriend not the Lily-Sanderson-I-love-you-that's-why-I-kissed-you-and-I'll-do-anything-for-you boyfriend. I suppose if I read this book right after the first I would still be in love with Quince and everything, but time has passed and that feeling faded before I read this book, so I was just disappointed with Quince this time around. This is another wonderful story from Tera Lynn Childs that combines humor, romance, and the seemingly fate of the entire human world all into one. It's a light, fun read that's perfect for the beach or any summery day. Fans of fantasy or contemporary alike will enjoy it.

Posted on K-Bookshttp://kayleigh-m-books.blogspot.com/...I was really looking forward to reading this book. I really enjoyed the first Fins book and couldn't wait to read more of Lily and Quince's story.Lily chose Quince at the end of Forgive my Fins, which meant she had to give up her roayl heritage and remain on land with him. However as her 18th birthday get closer she questions whether she has chosen the correct thing. Yes, she loved Quince more than anyone, she doesn't doubt that but is giving up her right to rule the right thing to do.Should she choose duty or follow her heart?I honestly think I like the first book better than this one but I don't think this lacks in any way. They are both incredible books with amazing characters. I fell in love with Quince even more. I just love him. He's one of the characters that you fall in love with and pray that they are real.I love Lily, she's amazing and I loved her journey throughout this book. I love that the audience felt her confusion over what was going on and you wait with bated breath to find out what she is going to choose. I really loved everything about this book.Apart from Dosinia. I really didn't like her in the first book and I didn't like her in this book either. I do like the journey she went through and how she developed a lot in this book. I didn't like her at first but I felt she changed so much throughout the book that you really can't help but like her in the end. I think I may have preferred the first book because it was Lily and Quince's love story whereas this felt more like Doe and Brody's love story but with Lily choosing her future.Still and amazing book and I really hope Tera Lynn Childs decides to write some more books in this series. I really like this series and really want to know what happens next.
