God Wants You Happy Audiobook Summary

“Inviting, accessible and personal. . . . A reminder of an overlooked truth: faith leads to joy.” –James Martin, SJ, author of The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything

Fox News analyst Father Jonathan Morris challenges the wisdom espoused by New Age self-help experts with the time-tested counsel found in the Bible. Readers who may have sought solace in popular self-help books like Eckart Tolle’s A New Earth, Rhonda Byrne’s The Secret, or Deepak Chopra’s The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success will be enthralled by Morris’s moving argument about the enduring spiritual succor awaiting in Scripture.

One of my favorite books to read. When I need to remember what it takes to be happy. God.

Faith gives us access to the deepest realities and is the standard by which to measure everything. Happiness that leaves out the "supernatural happiness found through union with God" can limit our human flourishing and keep us from reaching toward beatitude. In our attempts to improve and overcome problems and difficulties, it is wise to untangle our emotions and then utilize faith-driven principles to integrate them onto a higher level which can foster our living for eternity too. We need to walk away from difficulties with spiritual refreshment also which helps us solve problems rather than just deal with symptoms. It also helps to put reality into perspective when we have an awareness and acknowledgement of evil in our world. Otherwise we can be too slow to turn to God's loving grace. Father Morris really provides keen insight into how we need God's help as the powerhouse for human flourishing and happiness!

...there are several self-help books in the market... no matter how these self-help books claims... if we do not allow God's help to intervene then its gonna be a struggle and we might end-up failure.... Fr. Jonathan Morris introduces that we should live our lives in living faith, living hope and living love... the Faith-Hope-Love cure... the Divine cure...and become Junior Partners of the Holy Spirit... I highly recommend this book... this is not another self-help book... its God's help...

Filled with practical ways to heal by participating in God's grace. Fr. Morris provides a system that is easy to follow, natural, and hopeful for those who are struggling in work, relationships, and life in general. This book helps one to truly grasp the power of the Divine Cure which may not lead to the 'easy' life, but does lead to joy. Highly recommend.

When life deals a blow, there are many ways to cope, but God's way comes straight from the Designer. Faith, Hope, and Love. Forgiveness. Sef-examination. Fr. Morris uses several real-life stories to illustrate principles. Bottom line is, I feel more hopeful after reading his book.
