Heat of the Night audiobook

This is Book #2 in the seriesI enjoyed this book- probably more so than the first one. The second installment of this series has a lot more action and in general I found the plot to be much more interesting.I like it when authors write books and include the previous characters in the sequals. The Connor and Stacey characters were completely different from the Alyssa and Aiden characters which I was happy about because there was no repeating.Admittadly, part of myself wondered how a 'love em n leave em' kind of guy like conor could fall in love so quickly. This wouldnt really happen but Sylvia's style of writing always has her characters progressing this quickly. I like Stacey's character- she is a tough woman, trying to provide for her and her son and this book shows you a side of her who is not just a mum but a woman. She battles with herself- trying to convince herself that she doesnt need to fall for yet another bad boy ... clearly her restraint fails lol.Conor is a sexy, bad boy who charms her knickers off (literally). However, he ends up surprising us by actually falling for stacey, making romantic gestures and putting his feelings out there on a platter. I also loved seeing how Aidan and Lyssa's relationship has been developing since the end of the 1st book.

Continuing this unique world- too bad it's not a completed series :( We met Conor in book one, and he was a bad a$$, standing by Aiden's side in the battle against the lies that they've been told by the Elders. He goes to Aiden's to rest after working nonstop and finds himself confronted with Stacey.Stacey is a single mom that is housesitting for Aiden and Lyssa. Her teenage son goes with his father- a father that is rarely in the picture and only conveniently comes around now that their son is older and can take care of himself better. As soon as Conor and Stacey see each other- instant attraction🔥!Oh, the forcefulness of Conor is delicious🥵. Stacey hesitates to pursue anything physical with Aiden, but he doesn't let her second guess herself- and he just goes for it. Eventually, she caves, but it's not right away. She realizes this huge man is a stranger to her and doesn't understand why her body reacts the way that it does; I'm so glad she gives in because it was 🔥STEEEEEAMY🔥! It felt like insta-love, but hey, I didn't mind, especially considering how quickly Conor gets attached- he's the one that pushes Stacey to be together. I wish we would've gotten more of a buildup, but for instalove books, it's hard to realistic do that. I also love how much Conor LOVES Stacey's body- she's a mom and wasn't super confident, but he takes away all of her insecurities and assures her that he WANTS her😉, as many times as he can have her🤤. I loved seeing Aiden and Lyssa- we even get their perspectives, which felt like an extension of book 1.. This book also has some mystery/suspense, especially towards the end of the book.I wish it had been longer- I definitely felt the shortness in this one since so much is happening. Of course, he saddest thing is that there is no book 3 😏 so we don't get a resolution as to what happens with all the lies they've been told. Regardless, I still enjoyed this very much.⚠️Safety Squad⚠️-no cheating/owd/omg/sharing-the h's ex makes an appearance, but it's inconsequential-there are killings that happen

Connor sa che tra di loro una relazione sarebbe difficile e lei è ormai disincantata e non crede più al lieto fine, ma non riescono a stare lontani e ben presto l’attrazione diventa qualcosa di più profondo. La strisciante minaccia proveniente dal Crepuscolo però trova presto le due coppie che insieme dovranno affrontare un pericoloso nemico.Prima di leggere questo libro mi sono rinfrescata la storia del precedente capitolo della serie e sono andata a rivedere la mia recensione fatta ormai due anni fa, ammetto che ero stata scarsa con la votazione, probabilmente infastidita dal finale tronco di I piaceri della notte, ma vi devo dire che questi due libri vanno letti di seguito. Un po’ perché la trama fantasy è complessa e articolata e poi perché alcune delle cose rimaste in sospeso dal primo capitolo qui vengono almeno in parte spiegate.Attenzione però! Di questa serie manca ancora il terzo capitolo, che sua Maestà Sylvia Day ancora non ha scritto, e quindi non stupitevi se anche alla fine di questo la trama fantasy non sarà terminata e l’unica cosa che si conclude è il lieto fine per la coppia protagonista, esattamente come era successo nel precedente libro. Lo stile dell’autrice è qui meno grezzo rispetto al primo capitolo, ma è comunque evidentissimo il talento narrativo e la peculiare capacità di ricreare atmosfere torride e sensuali che è la caratteristica principale della Day come autrice anche nel genere fantasy. Ho apprezzato molto la storia d’amore qui narrata, e ancora di più il proseguire delle vicende che fanno da filo conduttore.Continua a leggere su crazyforrmance

Better than second. More of a story.

So this is the 2nd book of the series, however it took me quite awhile to get my hands on this book so I didn't get a back to back read :( Oh well the story was so memorable that even after some time I could jump right into this book. If you read my previous review, the 1st book leaves you with a HEA but there are so many other factors and items going on within the love story that were just left unanswered and this book just picked up right where the last one left off. Except this time we get to see Conner, another hot accented swoon worthy dream guardian and Stacey, Lyssa's BFF. To me it seemed like there was more steamminess in this book but that's all good, sometimes I wished there was a little more story line but that is only because I thought this was only a 2 book series (more on that later). So the story just keeps getting better, we are still fighting the same battle as the first book and there are even more plot twists and turns and new characters and new revelations and it was driving me insane. So as I said just a bit ago I couldn't figure out how they were going to conclude this series because more and more questions kept coming up with no answers and then of course there was a little chapter in Phillips (new characters) POV that left you absolutely dumbfounded. So I'm getting close to the end and getting worried and scared because there is no resolutions in sight or pages left in the book to fix it all, only to find out that this is an incomplete series ARGH. CLIFF!!!!small but there. So after I finish I jump straight to Sylvia Day's sight only to find out that she was only approved for 2 books and hopes to finish this series in the future. As I'm pulling my hair out and screaming NOOOO because I want to know what is going to happen next I left a post for Ms Day in the hopes that she will come back to my Dream Guardians very soon because I just loved it. The story line was fantastic the plot twists and turns were great and gosh darn it I need to know what is going to happen next. Oh Conner and Stacey get their HEA, in a very steamy way so yay!I don't want to discourage anyone from reading this book because we need more people bugging Ms Day to finish this series so please read and get just as hooked as I did and help me find out what happens next :)

Without giving much of the story away, the Heat of the Night (2nd book in the Dream Guardian Series) continues Lyssa and Aidan's quest to uncover the truth behind the prophecy of the Key. However, unlike other series, this book focuses on different characters first introduced in book 1; Connor and Stacey. Connor is Aidan's best friend, and Stacey is to Lyssa.I have to applaud Eva, her writing is quite sensational. She has a way of making the raunchiest sex scenes sound heartwarming and dear. I don't think any other author can make you swoon to "his balls slapping between her folds" lol.I have to warn you though, the story isn't resolved after this book. Not even close. Ms Day does promise a third book, tentatively titled Rhythms of the Night. I don't know if the Guardians will finally learn the Elders' secrets then, or the prophecy will eventually come true, or the nightmares will finally figure out how to cross the slipstream and into the human world without the Guardians. Either way, this and Pleasures of the Night (1st book in the series) are must read books.Each book is only 17 chapters long. A fairly quick read, like most of Ms Day's books. I finished each book in a day. So if you want a quick read that will surely take your mind off things, I recommend reading the books in the Dream Guardian Series.

Tu mi consenti di andare avanti, Creatura Eccitante.»Secondo (e per ora ultimo) libro della serie Dream Guardians, stavolta i riflettori si spostano sul guardiano Connor, pronto a "saltare" nel nostro mondo per dare manforte ad Aidan! ;D Ho trovato anche questo secondo capitolo molto scorrevole ed intrigante, con fantastici colpi di scena, combattimenti, rapimenti....e ovviamente tanta tanta passione (la Day è sempre la Day XD). Singolarmente Connor e Stacey sono due bei personaggi, lui è un vero guerriero e lei una donna con un vissuto sentimentale disastroso (ma infinitamente più vera della "cara" Lyssa...anche se entrambe si trasformano in ninfomani appena compare il lui di turno XD)....ma ammetto che come coppia non mi hanno convinto quanto Lyssa e Aidan (che qui ovviamente sono ben presenti e felicemente innamorati più che mai), si saltano addosso prima ancora di presentarsi e tutto sembra molto "go lussuria go!" e molto poco "sex&love" XD Ora sarei curiosa di leggere la Day in versione storica o contemporanea, sperando vada solo in salita! ;D

I really enjoyed this book! This series, though incomplete, has a lot of humor, passion and raw lust. As far fetched as the story may seem to be...it really works. And...it works well as a series. I like Sylvia Day's writing style and I appreciate her quick yet descriptive development of her characters. The Connor and Stacey characters were completely different from the Alyssa and Aiden characters and that was a welcomed tact in the story telling. I worried that the couples would mirror each other in terms of relationship dynamics and their overall story. This didn't happen which led me to enjoy the book even more.The story is interesting and I don't want to give anything away so all I'll say is read Pleasures of the Night...and then read Heat of the Night and pray that a third book comes out. The second book leaves a few cliff hangers and I for one would like to have some answers and see how this all pans out! Good work again Sylvia Day!

Met evenveel plezier begonnen aan dit boek. De erotiek haalt hier terug de bovenhand maar er zit meer inhoud in. Connor komt vanuit de schemerwereld in de echte wereld terecht om Aidan te helpen in zijn zoektocht naar de waarheid. Hij had niet verwacht Stacey tegen te komen. Hier en daar wordt er iets meer vrij gegeven over het spel dat door de oudsten wordt gespeeld. Ik hoop dat er zeker nog een vervolg komt.

Once again, Sylvia Day captured me with a great story! I really how she comes out with book #3 soon! I can't wait to find out who the half immortal daughter is and the grand plan. Plus what happens to Phillip!!!
