Homemade Sin Audiobook Summary

“The prose is tart and lively, the storytelling swift-paced, and the large cast and multiple plot lines deftly handled.” — Atlanta Journal-Constitution

In the third book in this acclaimed series, Callahan Garrity runs afoul of her own family when she insists on investigating the carjacking death of the cousin she idolized.

Some people might call Callahan Garrity nosy, but she prefers to think of her tendency toward snooping as a healthy interest in the truth. So when news of her cousin Patti’s death reaches her, Callahan shakes off her House Mouse cleaning uniform to don her detective’s cap. It’s not that she doesn’t have confidence in the Atlanta police–she used to be among their ranks–it’s just that the crime seems too incongruous with Patti’s suburban life to be an accident.

Another entertaining adventure! I was especially a fan of Miss Sister & Baby in this story. The only thing I'd add to this series is more of Mac & Callahan together.

Love the Trocheck/Andrew’s books! Sense of humor and appealing characters keep me turning the pages in her mysteries. Homemade Sin had the familiar characters and twisting murder mystery. I need more of this type reads. Keeps me reading.

Poor Patti gets murdered in a brutal shooting. The only witness is her son who can barely speak. Callahan will not take that sitting down. She is determined to find out what is happening and how Pattis husband could be responsible.I love her determination and whit in everything she does, she even manages to piss off her own mother in her hunt for the truth. But in the end the killer is brought to justice.

This is the third novel in the Callahan Garrity series. This installment hits more at home as the story revolves around her family. One of her dearest relatives, Patti McNair, is brutally murdered with her young so. In the back seat of her car. Callahan gets involved in trying to find the murderer and is confronted not only with her family but also with the local authorities. No one seems to want her on the case. In her investigation she finds out that Patti may be having an affair with her local priest and that her marriage is suffering from money and infatalitiy problems. The conclusion takes place in the Oakland Cemetery where Margaret Mitchell and Confederate Soldiers have been laid to rest.Another great easy mystery to read from Kathy Hogan Trocheck. Cpywrited in 1994, it will be difficult to find unless you go to EBay or Amazon.

Book #3 of the Callahan Garrigan mysteries, written by my fav chick lit author Andrews. I enjoyed this one more than the last - even though Garrigan was annoyingly prying and managed to anger her entire family (who were recovering from her cousins murder), I enjoyed seeing her process. It’s probably a little more realistic in the number of leads she had to chase down to figure it out.In a nutshell, her beloved cousin is shot to death in her car in a shady part of town while her speech challenged son is in the back seat. Who did it and why? Garrigan can’t believe it was a random event and (spoiler!), it wasn’t. Twists include the fbi, the kid’s psychologist, a local money launderer, and of course her entire family. All while she’s still running a cleaning service.

This book #3 in this series and I am hooked. The characters in this series are unique. I so enjoy how Hillary Huber reads the characters. Hillary is fabulous at changing character voices. Callahan Garrity is my hero. Smart and confident, she gets to the bottom of the investigation into the death of her cousin-even though her family is adamant that she stay out of it. Callahan lives by her own rules and she just can't let it go. She is determined to bring the killer to justice. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

SuspensefulAs in all of her Callahan Garrity books, Homemade Sin was no. exception. This book was full of mystery with a little comedy on the side. It was a real nail-biter, and I couldn't put it down. I liked this book, and I would recommend it to anyone who reads Mary Kay Andrews books

Ok, so the front of my paperback is a window with yellow curtains, a table, and vase with flowers fallen over, a pink feather duster, and keys. Anyway, this was SO good that I bought #4 through #7 but will more likely than not go back to purchase #1 & #2. I loved Callahan and her family! Sad story but a good story! I can't wait to read the rest.
