I Dream of Danger audiobook

3.5 starsThe story and characters were really good, but the reason I'm only rating it a 3.5 stars is because of the constant repetition. I found the author continued to 'remind' the me of past events which started to piss me off so I found myself skimming to get to the good parts.I really liked Nick and Elle's characters, and I like where the author went with Dr. Lee's character.I can't wait to read Jon's story!

This is a great read. The storyline is interesting and it has a supernatural element that I didn't expect, which makes Ghost Ops different than all of her other series.I didn't realize IDOD is the second book of this series until mid-way, when the character Catherine Young start to appear quite prominently in the story. The rapport that she has with Nick made me curious and I was surprise to find out this is a second book. But luckily enough, even without reading the first book, I could follow the storyline well. The premise of this series was explained well in this book as well, which is a clever thing because i have to start hunting the first book one of these days and might as well grab the third one while I'm at it.

Elle can astral-project since she was a little girl. She knew there was something different about herself but never truly understood it until she studied it in college and joined Arka Pharmaceutical. Now, it’s the one thing that could save her life.Nick, the man that she has loved since she was a little girl but left her. Only to come back and leave again. She can’t believe that he’s the first person that she thinks about when she finds herself being hunted. If only Nick hears her pleas for help.Nick is a part of the Ghost Ops team. A team of ex-soldiers in hiding after being betrayed. He’s a hunted man. He’s a haunted man. He’s haunted by the one woman who he will always love but lost. He never thought to see her again, especially under these circumstances. But, when she calls out to him and tells him that she is in danger, he will move heaven and earth to get to her even if he doesn’t understand how she contacted him, where she is or who is after her.With the help of Jon, Mac and Catherine, he is able to rescue her and bring her back to Mount Blue. But, in order to rescue her colleagues, he has to rely on her and her special abilities to again infiltrate Arka and bring them all back to Mount Blue.I am totally in love with the men of the Ghost Ops. They are fun, strong, strong-willed and sexy all wrapped into one neat package. When they love, they love hard and strong. When they spring into action, they are swift, to the point and all Alpha-male. What’s not to love.And, the story-line. Wow! Lisa Marie Rice brings us on another wild ride of love lost and found and what a man will do and go through to hold on to the one that got away. Dr. Lee is back with his maniacal thoughts of taking over the world. Flynn is back with his money and his want to rule the world. The rescued men of The Ghost Ops all start making an appearance and giving us hope that this is just not a trilogy. Ms. Rice keeps the story moving and very interesting. She makes Nick work to get Elle’s love back and she brings all the characters together to make a fun, intriguing story.

And the connection between Nick and Elle was intense right from the start.Then it occurs a separation, he gets vanished by five years, only coming back at a big fragility and sadness moment in Elle's Life. To the long these years she never stopped dreaming with him and these dreams were so intense that seemed real.The meet again of the two are explosive and extremely hot, but he has to leave again due to a mission.They has a brief interlude and she thinks it was abandoned by him again...Elle take it! a decision that changes life of the two totally.Ten years pass and nowadays she is a researcher who work for Arka Corporation who has ramifications in several researches field.Due to these researches and of her abilities paranormais, Elle faces great danger and she needs the help from Nick.Nick answers to the request of helps of Elle, who was done through a his dream.From this moment on starts to action and the team abilities are put to the proof. We know a little more of the other characters and of the facilities where they live (Haven) and also the enemy who they face.I liked a lot of the reading, it has hot scenes of sex, action, adventure, supernatural and scenes very well writings that arrest reader's attention. Also very intense and emotional scenes that captivate and that arrest us to the history and let us with wish of discovering more about the secondary characters. I liked the couple Stella and Lucius. It has some terror touches and for the ones that like is great.Mix hot scenes, males alphas, women geek and sexy, paranormal powers and scientific experiments, thence you have a very interesting book and with great power of arresting reader's attention. Tem alguns toques de terror também, para quem gosta é um prato cheio. Misture cenas hot, machos alfa, mulheres geek, poderes paranormais e experimentos científicos, daí você tem um livro muito interessante com grande poder de prender a atenção do leitor. Recomendo a leitura e vou esperar com ansiedade pelo próximo livro. A autora escreve bem e é especialista em machos alfas!----------------------------------------

Now, I follow all her news and I read all her books, even in English. I dream of danger is the second volume of her new trilogy called Ghost Ops. The first one, Heart of danger, was published last year and the last volume will be published next year. It seems a long way for me!In any case, I loved this novel. As soon as I started it, I couldn’t stop reading. I found it entirely different from the first one, more stirring that what I usually read by the author. The heroes of the series, Tom « Mac » McEnroe, Nick Ross and Jon Ryan, were members of a secret special unit only known by two persons. They were betrayed and the team was massacred. On the way to the martial court, the three men escaped and knowing that they couldn’t get back to their former lives, they hid underground where they built a community with misfits, geniuses and people on the run. They called it Haven.Lisa introduces new elements in this series: psychical powers possessed by some people and the heroines, biological research with ADN traffics and a lot of futuristic and high technological materials including weapons, computers… I found that the setting was well explained and exploited. As usual, we feel that Lisa worked deeply on the subject before placing her characters.I prefer reassure readers who didn’t read the first volume: you can read I dream of danger without problem.We meet up with the same characters, the good guys as well as the bad ones. The end of Heart of Danger was frustrating for me and I was not entirely satisfied with the end of this one as well because the big bad guy is still on the run. But meanwhile, Lisa offers a good ending to the readers, so we content ourselves with it. Nevertheless, I can’t wait for Jon’s story with … I won’t talk about his heroine even if I already know who she is. You will find more by reading the book.I said that the book was very, very stirring and it’s because of the plot. The story takes place long before Nick became a Ghost Ops. We learn who the woman with whom he is in love is. She was just mentioned in Heart of Danger without being named. And the relationship between Nick and Elle is the reason why this book is so stirring. Because they have been in love for a long time but they couldn’t talk about their feelings because of exterior elements that are going to separate them for ten years. Readers witness Nick and Elle’s despair and the feelings are so skillfully worked in the novel (Thanks Lisa) that we feel like we have to sympathize with them. And we only want one thing, that they find each other again and be happy forever. I loved that the plot in this book was following the previous one. Indeed, in Heart of Danger, our heroes find out that yes, psychical abilities exist. In I Dream of Danger, there is no skepticism any more. And when Elle talks about what she can do, the three men believe her immediately and readers can move on to something else.In the same way, Lisa explains (again) why Haven exists and who lives there but she never showers those who have already read the first volume with too much details. What’s more, she talks about the three men AND some secondary characters. But, you will have to read the book to know what I mean.There is also some humor and I sometimes laughed out loud. I’m especially thinking about the first encounter between Elle and Catherine Young (the heroine in Heart of Danger). A memorable moment.I loved the characters, as usual. Nick is an alpha male with all the qualities which go with it and Elle is well educated, nice and devoted and she has psychical abilities. Their relationship is explosive and we believe in their future once we close the book. The hot scenes are very well described.You understand now that this romance is magnificent and everybody must read it: we cry, we laugh and we are afraid for the characters, that proves that Lisa Marie Rice knows how to animate her stories. I wish that J’ai Lu (Lisa’s French publisher) has already bought the rights, because it would be a shame! I had a very good time and I think that the last volume will be superb.

Though powerful men are after Elle and her special abilities, Nick will die before leaving her side again. I so enjoy LMR's writing...there's nothing she's ever written I just didn't LIKE. That said, this wasn't one of my favorites. I felt like the 1st third of the book took me forever to get through ~ one of the things I like BEST about LMR is her uber possesive heroes. I found it hard to believe that Nick would leave Elle for 10 years, even to build his own life. I felt like the connection between just wasn't as strong as I wanted it to be. There was so much time spent on when they were younger, then I felt like we zoomed through them actually finally coming face to face again, and hooking up. But again, I say these things comparing LMR to LMR, if you get me. It's a really good book, and I'm totally into the Ghost Ops. Loving that they've built their own world inside a mountain! This is book 2 in this series, and I wouldn't suggest reading this as a stand alone. This book doesn't spend a lot of time giving the back story. I don't think you'd be totally lost, but you would know there are things you're missing. All in all? A good read, great writing!!
