I’ll Take Your Questions Now Audiobook Summary

The most frank and intimate portrait of the Trump White House yet

Stephanie Grisham rose from being a junior press wrangler on the Trump campaign in 2016 to assuming top positions in the administration as White House press secretary and communications director, while at the same time acting as First Lady Melania Trump’s communications director and eventually chief of staff. Few members of the Trump inner circle served longer or were as close to the first family as Stephanie Grisham, and few had her unique insight into the turbulent four years of the administration, especially the personalities behind the headlines.

In any other circumstance, I would probably enjoy having a drink with Stephanie. She seems like an intelligent woman or at least writes like one. The problem I would have is that she was a complicit enabler of a man who is a criminal. And throughout the book, I suspected that she knew that, but just didn't care. She was blinded by ambition, by the pretty little toys dangled in front of her, by the "power" of those she associated with. She didn't want to see the obvious which made me so so disappointed in her. I like women with ambition, with drive, with moxie, with a progressive outlook on life & she had all of that (okay, the progressive part maybe not so much which would explain the ugly nasty boyfriend part; Steph, you need girlfriends who will be honest with you especially when it comes to men). Yet she couldn't see the destructiveness of Donald Trump. She explained away most of his deplorable traits &, from being in real estate for ages in the NYC area, it must have taken an enormous amount of psychic energy to ignore & then paint over horrible nature of him as well as his blatant criminality. In addition, Melania Trump cannot be redeemed - Steph, you tried, but every woman knows THAT kind of woman & she's indefensible no matter how you try to package it. Even at the end of the book, you were still trying to defend her & rehabilitate her as something more than an ex porn girl who slept her way to a bank account. It was funny to see the conflict between Princess Sparkle (Ivanka) & Malaria, but it also highlighted the vapidness of these women, the total pettiness & disregard they hold & display towards each other & the rest of the world. Again, there's no defense for Malaria & the world would certainly be a MUCH better place without either of them. I also don't buy that Malaria has any great "love" for her son - he's one more pawn in the transactional world that the Trump's create & inhabit. These people are scum. I hope Stephanie finds some peace now that she's out of Morder. I give her credit for trying to make a POS into something palatable, but that could never happen with anything Trump. If she were smart, she'd start spending time with some strong women - Katy Porter, Elizabeth Warren. These women are intelligent & Stephanie is, too. And the best part is that, unlike Malaria, they will extend a hand to help her up, to support her, to enable her to become the best person she can be. And she does have that potential now that she's out of the shadows of criminals & grifters.

For years, I tried to avoid reading books about former President Trump. Nevertheless, in 2021, with Trump out of office, I started reading books about his presidency. This book, I'll take your questions now by Stephanie Grisham, is the fourth book on Trump I have read. Unlike other books, Grisham takes you inside the world of Trump and tries to provide a greater understanding of the Trump family and how family dynamics impacted foreign and domestic policy. While Grisham, like many others who have worked for the Trump family, is trying to remove the mud from her good name, she does provide a sense of the promise of a Trump presidency for the voiceless in America before it descended into violence and chaos. While the book does not provide the same level of detail as other Trump books, it does provide an idea of the impact that the Trumps had on those working for them. I would recommend this book simply because it was written by a former Trump staffer.

Engaging Storytelling in this AudiobookStephanie Grisham is a seasoned storyteller who knows how to capture the attention of readers. From the opening pages of this audiobook of I’LL TAKE YOUR QUESTIONS NOW. I was fascinated with her truth-telling and insider perspective on the Donald Trump White House and organization. As a journalist, I found her behind the scenes stories very interesting and insightful. As one of the longest White House people in the East Wing (four years in the White House and two years before that), Grisham knows how to survive the turmoil of the Trump organization. In addition, Grisham was a fierce advocate for Melania Trump, where she worked with the White House press. I enjoyed listening to I’LL TAKE YOUR QUESTIONS NOW and heard it cover to cover.W. Terry Whalin is an editor and the author of more than 60 books including his latest Book Proposals That $ell, 21 Secrets To Speed Your Success (Revised Edition) .

I thought it was entertaining, okay? And Grisham managed to make me feel some sympathy for her, and to soften my feelings toward Mrs. Trump. The press was, indeed, kind of ridiculous at times. This is a gossipy book and doesn't necessarily provide any new information, or at least important new information (no one may ever know why Melania wore that jacket), but it does shed some light on corners of the White House that most of us never see, and the nature of various jobs.

Honesty and BlindnessHow a intelligent woman could not see the writing on the wall. They were all egotistical. How she could feel empathy for the slayers of anyone who dares to breathe in the same air as they do. What an evil group of sub human beings.

I hate Trump, but he fascinates me, and I read everything I can get my hands on about him and his administration. This book is a great addition to the shelf of anyone who, like me, will probably spend much of the rest of their lives thinking, “What the f***? I mean, seriously, what the f***?” It will answer the question “How could an intelligent, normal person end up in the highest ranks of Trump World and think it’s an okay thing to do?” You may or may not agree with the author’s choices, but one thing is for sure — you will understand them. I also think this is the most balanced book I’ve ever read about the Trumps — all of them. Even someone who loathes them has to admit there are good things about them, and there were — just totally outweighed by the vile and the ridiculous.

wow what a book. I want to take my time and write this because there is more here than just the trump white house. I understand now how trump got his female fan base? Stephanie shared in the book that is is a pleaser and allowed males to take advantage of her. Hell the whole trump family took advantage of her. I hope after this book she has given those bad habits up. Her book did show a lot more realistic white house but from a female beat me up please point of view. It certainly shows what happens if you dont stand up for yourself.

Schadenfreude And the Nobel Prize for naivete' goes to...Stephanie Grisham! She was delusional and I guess is never in her life going to be able to spot passive aggression. Her editor bears responsibility for the poor nature of her grammar and juvenile prose. I gave this book 4 stars for the schadenfreude I felt. I always love to read the dirt on the Trumps, and this was chock full of it. But don't allow Ms. Grisham's interpretation of events to stand...think it through.

Great insiders point of viewI devoured this book in two days. I found the author to be authentic and self realized. The stories in the book are consistent with what others insiders have said. The truth is ugly and often hard to read. The Trump family is similar to many family businesses. They are loyal to themselves and use others, as needed, but rarely come to trust them or provide the loyalty that they provide to themselves.

The author bears her soul to some degree in this book, not only about her insights into and experiences with the Trumps, but her personal struggles with abusive men over time and how she came to understand how that affected her relationships. Although she shared some of Melania's shortcomings and foibles, I thought she was kind to Melania and her affection for and loyalty during her time in M's employ was clear. Matter of fact, made me wonder if she had written the book in collaboration with M. The author's evolution of her relationship with DJT from admiration to tolerance to disdain was interesting. Still, she did so with some level of objectivity and concern. There were some members of the WH crew she was not tolerant of, and with good reason. Given time the author was able to shed her rose colored glasses and see her work environment in a different light, as well as becoming more enlightened about herself. I enjoyed the book. Read it in a day.

"Chaos, when left alone, tends to multiply." This quote by Stephen Hawking starts one of the earlier chapters in the book and seems to sum up the Trump White House. Ms. Grisham doesn't seem to hold back in this tell-all. Nothing ever went as planned. My favorite quote from the book is, "...everything was like a clown car on fire running at full speed into a warehouse full of fireworks." Clown car, indeed. Her own ego is the reason she stuck with that embarrassing clown car of an administration. The final chapter is introspection where Ms. Grisham admits she was weak and fearful. You lie down with dogs, you wake up with fleas. Good riddance.

Excellent Account of the Trump White HouseI have to admit I don’t even remember Stephanie as Press Secretary. She gives a very good account of her experience and I believe an honest one. What’s missing and probably besides the point is what kind of politics and beliefs led her to the Trump White House. She’s clear at the abusive nature of it but what her general beliefs are that led her there is missing. What we get seems to be a young, woman who was infatuated with the Trumps, especially Mrs. Trump. It’s good to learn but disturbing also.

There were no big reveals, and it was less polished than other executive memoirs - but I was interested in hearing what people tell themselves when they know they’re working with the wrong team. There was little insight into January 6th and that felt like a purposeful legal maneuver (reasonable) but I was waiting for her to explain the horror and without that this book is incomplete. It’s a light take with a sprinkle of gossip that will surprise no one.
