Immortally Yours Audiobook Summary

Irresistible chemistry and thrilling suspense combine in this electrifying new installment in New York Times bestselling author Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau series…

One hundred and twenty-five years is a long time to nurse a crush. That’s how long it’s been since Beth Argenis first met Cullen “Scotty” MacDonald and he instantly became the star of her most X-rated dreams. Back then, he was rescuing her from a Rogue Immortal. Now Beth’s a Rogue Hunter–a damn good one. She doesn’t need saving anymore, despite what Scotty thinks. What she does need is the fierce, wild desire that finally erupts between them.

Scotty has hesitated to claim Beth as his own. But one explosive kiss confirms what he’s long suspected: She’s his life mate. But Beth is tough, fearless, beautiful…and in immortal danger. Unless he wants to lose her forever, he’ll have to rethink everything he once believed about love and destiny as well as confront an enemy who’s terrifyingly close.

Beth

When a series is still going strong when it is over 25 books in, you can’t help but admire the author’s writing ability and creativity. Sands has abundance in both and the Argeneau series displays them to the reader's delight.Beth had a rough beginning so when the ancient “Scotty” comes to her rescue 100 years past, he felt it prudent to give her time to adjust to her new life before he claims her as his mate. 100 years later, Beth is an accomplished hunter in no need for rescuing. Just then Scotty returns and so does all her fantasies and dreams of the magnificent specimen of a man.Scotty wants only the best for Beth but he doesn’t realize that his ideas make Beth feel he regrets the person she’s become. Immortally Yours is fraught with miscommunications, sexual tensions, and profound suspense.I received this ARC copy of Immortally Yours from Avon. This is my honest and voluntary review. 3.5 stars, but I'm round up to 4 because I loved, loved, loved Scotty and how over-protective he was, even though he was acting like a twit some of the time. Alright peeps, this is my first Lynsay Sands book..Okay, that is kind of a lie. I'm pretty sure I have tried to start her books before and not been able to get into them. So I will re-phrase. Peeps, this is my first time finishing a Lynsay Sands book!!I know, I know!! I'm pretty proud of myself too!! I tend to give up really early on these books if they don't peek my interest right away. I'm not sure what it is, but for some reason some of these long time romance authors don't suck me in to their stories instantly. I find myself zoning out in the first 20%. But...... When they hook me, I'm usually stuck to the end. Even if the book isn't their best. That is exactly what happened in this book. I did the audio and I'm not 100% sure I actually absorbed most of the first 20%, but once I got in and started getting invested I was totally entralled. I even had to force myself to go to bed last night. Which, when that happens it is an automatic 3.5 stars for me. As I have said before, I need to be entertained. You can writing a pile of shit and if I'm entertained I'm happy. This book is basically a big ole pile of miscommunication, and assumptions between our two characters. But I enjoyed the shit out of it for some reason. There is a definite suspense trying to figure out who is trying to kill Beth (and yes most of you will figure it out pretty easily, but it is still fun to see if you are right). And can we just take a minute to talk about Donnie - my gawd that guy is a mess and hilarious. There is a chapter where he has coffee for the first time as an immortal and I was dying. Also, for the long time readers of this series. I have a very serious question.... Does the post life-mate sex pass out ever stop? I mean, my husband does love him a power nap after, but I feel like passing out for 2+ hours after sex would make me contemplate having a mid day quickie. There are some mild triggers in this when Beth talks about what she has gone through at a mortal (but I'm pretty sure that it is not new to anyone who has read this whole series). Her life was not easy and after hearing what she lived through, I loved that girl even more. In all, this was a solid audio that kept me hooked once I got into it. I'm definitely going to continue with this series. Especially, since I have the ARC for the newest book (yay!) and want to read a couple more before diving in. Instagram | My Blog | Facebook

Well, Lynsay Sands truly amazes me that she can write so many books in one series and every one of them is fresh and new. Immortally Yours was different from other stories in the Argeneau saga in that they both knew what being Life Mates entailed. This in no way took away from the story, it did make it more interesting since you didn’t have to go through the drama of explaining exactly what an Immortal is. But, there was drama.Scotty is one arrogant Immortal. He knows that Beth is his life mate and will do whatever it takes to protect her. He can’t help it. He’s an 800-year-old former Laird and used to making all decisions. He has been keeping tabs on Beth right from the beginning without her knowledge. Now that it is time to claim her, he finds that he still has some misgivings. He has to come to terms with his past, her past and the present before he could make her his. He also needs to find out just who it is that is trying to kill her.Beth is a very independent woman. She is positive that Scotty does not like her in the least. He’s never been nice to her. She knows that he tried to stop her from becoming a Hunter. She knows that he doesn’t accept her past. What she doesn’t know is that she is his life mate. She doesn’t know about his past and what is holding him back from claiming her if it’s true. She does not believe that the accidents she seems to be having are all threats on her life. As things heat up between the two of them and they get to know one another, Scotty sees what he has been pushing away and knows that Beth is nothing like his mother. His mission now is to get her to accept their future, agree to be his Life Mate and stop the lunatic trying to kill her.I love Lynsay Sands and never tire of reading her stories. The Argeneau series has intrigued me from A Quick Bite right through Immortally Yours. Like I said, she knows how to write fresh and exciting stories that keeps you invested in the story. I was sad that Aunt Marguerite and Lucien weren’t featured in this book but, I got over it quick because Beth and Scotty were so interesting. I enjoyed the introduction of some new characters and look forward to where she is going to take them.

This review was originally posted on Addicted To RomanceIn Immortally Yours we have a story that continues on with this fabulous vampire series that can still make me laugh and entertain me fully. In this story. And wow, has this series just grown and grown and it still amazes me that this author can bring a story that is lively and make me smile all the way through. In this story, we have a story of two people that are fated to be together, but due to certain circumstances aren't together. Our hero and heroine have known each other for centuries, but when our heroine was turned, it was a very traumatic experience and our hero Scotty, didn't let her know that they were lifemates. He thought she was way too young and he struggled with certain decisions she had made in her "human life". In Beth's mind, she has always thought that Scotty hasn't liked her even. Wanting her to lose her memories from her human life, and not supporting her being a rogue hunter. But when Beth's life is put in danger, Scotty is her guardian. He refuses to leave her side while they figure out why they want Beth's life.At first in Immortally Yours there are some big miscommunication that comes into play between Scotty and Beth here. We see the way that they have a very vibrant connection to each other, but Beth doesn't realize it at first. For about the first half of the story, Beth doesn't have good thoughts for Scotty. They do have some unresolved issues that they have never really discussed. You understand why that has happened though, so it wasn't a huge issue for me. However my real problem I had was the hero. He was a bit self righteous at times, of course, the way his mother was, you can understand why. But at the same time, I just couldn't understand why he was so judgmental of the heroine at times. Other than that though, I had a blast with this book. The heroine was quite frankly....awesome. She could kick ass, spirited and funny. She definitely knows how to handle Scotty even in the worst of times. Once Beth and Scotty resolve the past with each other, then their relationship really goes more deerper and the romance between them really blossoms.Immortally Yours is a spirited and thrilling tale with a bite....its a romance that will make you laugh, gives you tingles up the spine and keeps you on edge! When I made my change over to Kindle, this was one of the 3-4 series I had in paperback that I kept. Those first 8-10 books were amazing, funny, and just plain entertaining. The series has never reached that level again sadly for me.This was another Rogue Hunter novel and the romance was more frustrating than interesting, the mystery was done well and I only figured it out shortly before we knew who it was but the main thing here is that it was a decent 4 Star novel, for awhile there I was sure it was going to drop to 3 but it did pick up a bit but still nothing like those first books I loved. The romance was confusing and frustrating most of the book, the mystery was done well in that there were not any real TSTL moments. Really it could have been another series altogether it was so disjointed from those early books.Bottom Line: It was good, it was entertaining but not exceptionally so and it was nothing like those laugh out loud books that hooked me into this series. 4 Stars for a good story and keeping the "whodunnit" until the end.

Although I really liked it a lot, it was not as good as her last 2 before this one. That said, it was still pretty awesome.

Another enjoyable paranormal romance in the Argeneau series. A good plot with plenty of action that moved right along. The heroine was the strong one in this relationship. A different twist on claiming life mates and still incorporating the immortal race. Scotty leads rogue hunters in UK and goes to Canada because he has a feeling that his life mate Beth is in serious trouble.

I love paranormal romance, especially vampires, so it was pretty crazy that I hadn't read Lynsay Sands yet. And yes, I am coming in on the 26th book in the famous Argeneau series, but I quickly found that it wasn't a problem at all. No need to be caught up to understand what is happening here! The Story-Scotty has known Beth for over a hundred years, back when she first became a vampire. Only now is he ready to claim her as his life mate, but with her life in danger, it's proving a little difficult to do that. My Thoughts-Sands can write a freaking action scene! I could picture every fight, every detail perfectly. So many times, I have some trouble imagining what is happening, but Sands makes it play like a movie in my head. Scotty is a hottie (c'mon, I had to), and his devotion to Beth is sigh-worthy. This book went super fast; I couldn't quit turning pages. The best things about this book are the characters, the action scenes, and the pacing. The small quibbles I have are the bad guy (a bit cliche and meh) and the long monologue descriptions of the characters' backgrounds. I absolutely LOVED those backstories, but I wish I had been able to see them play out via flashback or something. Maybe prologue? I don't know, but the stores are sooooo good that I hate that they were relayed simply through monologue. Those issues aside, I enjoyed the world of Argeneau vampires and am convinced that Sands is one of the better paranormal writers out there. The Bottom Line-Sands is firmly on my paranormal list now, and I plan on going back into her back catalogue for some more Argeneau vampires. Is it terrible that I wish she would write some historical paranormal, kind of a prequel for this series? 4 stars

(RabidReads.com)Lynsay Sands Argeneau series, is simply put, a fun time. I know I say that every time I read one, but it’s true. I have been reading them in a kind of weird order, starting at the end of the series first and then continuing on from that point-and also, going back to the beginning and reading some of those as well. I find the oldest ones to be lighter in tone than the newer ones. The newer books are more exciting with plenty of action. All of them feature some humor and lots of romance. This one is book 26 and was definitely exciting, full of action and romance, and had some humorous moments as well. So it fit right in.Beth Argenis is a highly trained rogue hunter. Rogues in this world are immortal vampire like beings that once turned, go off on their own, indiscriminately turning humans and feeding off and killing humans. Beth is immortal and was also turned, not born to this world, around 125 years before. She is beautiful and looks to be in her mid twenties. She’s headstrong when it comes to saving innocent humans from rogues. Scotty MacDonald is of course, from Scotland, but came to Canada recently to help out the Argeneau family since so many of their people are out on assignment. He’s known Beth since she was turned and shows up in her life quite often. He’s a fierce rogue hunter and any time he’s around, Beth has X-rated dreams starring him. As he does about her as well. This is what life mates do. Beth is seemingly unaware of this, but Scotty is over eight hundred years old and he is well versed in life mates. He also has no intention of claiming Beth anytime soon. And he does have his reasons, however poor they are. There’s also plenty of other characters featured this time. Donny, a young trainee rogue hunter, served to add quite a bit of humor to the story. An immortal, affluent Russian princess with human feeding issues is also introduced. Good Characters! This time around, Beth is being targeted by someone and gets put into lots of bad situations. While this is going on, the hunters are also being tasked with problems they have to take care of or get rid of. Through it all, Scotty tries to ignore Beth-all the while trying to keep her safe at the same time. At times, I really wanted to throttle him!As always, I enjoyed the romance and the back story of Beth was pretty fascinating to me as well. The story took us back into history and that really added to this installment for me. Sand’s world building has always been interesting to me, with the use of Atlantis for the reasons behind their immortality. She doesn’t do a big info dump, but manages to work just enough information into the story for those people newly reading about this world. Very much appreciated by me!An immortal reluctant to claim his life mate, a mysterious villain determined to kill Beth, dangerous cases that the group is working, and great characters, all came together to form this good read, or in this case, listen. Narrator, Michael Rahhal, did an amazing job with accents and his female voices were actually quite well done. One particular funny scene featuring Donny and coffee was done so well by the narrator that I was laughing out loud. So narration was a five star for me.This series is a must read/listen for me. I am slowly adding books to my tbr pile and will keep reading them until I am able to catch up. There are some series where that wouldn’t be that easy of a thing to do, but this one is a breeze for me. I know that when I start one of these I will be entertained and at times kept on the edge of my seat. Highly recommended to adult paranormal romance fans-adult due to steamy scenes and violence. Thank you to Harper Audio for a copy of this in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I risk repeating myself. Lynsay Sands has been writing the Argeneau series since I first started reading paranormal romance -- in fact, my Navy roommate let me read Sherrilyn Kenyon's Fantasy Lover, and the next day I went out and bought a ton of like books, of which Single White Vampire was one. I've kept up with the series ever since, and one of the main aspects of the books that keep me coming back is that I largely don't know what to expect. Will it be a thriller like Immortal Hunter? A romantic comedy like Once in a Vampire Moon? A drama that cracks open the series like Vampire, Interrupted? There's always a mystery, but there are different shades of darkness to the books. Immortal Unchained, the book before this one, was an Island of Dr Moreau type horror romantic comedy. This one, Immortally Yours, was dark and funny and romantic and more emotionally complex than some of the others. I would put it up there ALMOST with Vampire Most Wanted. It's runner up to Vampire Most Wanted in Darkest Backstory in an Argeneau category. And Lynsay Sands has given the couple an interesting romantic background as well. All in all, I would say that Sands continues to write fun and refreshing and dark and wonderful stories about the Argeneaus. I can't wait for Twice Bitten!

Plot: 4/5Characterisation: 5/5Prose: 3/5How much I enjoyed it: 5/5The book takes a step back from the new arc of the series as it takes place in the same time as the previous book. While we get the usual bevy of rogue hunters, the book introduces us to a few people from the UK Council & Rogue Hunter as well as Russia Council and how the immortals from other places differ in their rules. The plot in itself is simple. Having read through the series, you can spot the villian easily. What I enjoyed the most is having the H/h know each other for a long time instead of the usual insta-lust. As much as I understand how the world works; life mates can't resist each other when they find them, it does get tiring when most of the romance in the series happens within a day or two.

I still enjoy this world so much. A Lynsay Sands book is always an entertaining one for me (which is a good thing, because these books are an auto-buy).

Book 26 rejuvenated the series as Beth, Scotty and the rest of this cast of characters for this particular story weathered each up and down with the kind of style that reminded me of why I started reading the books in the first place!
