Letting Go Audiobook Summary

The New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author returns with a sizzling novel of love, loss, guilt, and forgiveness.

Grey and Ben fell in love at thirteen and believed they’d be together forever. But three days before their wedding, the twenty-year-old groom-to-be suddenly died from an unknown heart condition, destroying his would-be-bride’s world. If it hadn’t been for their best friend, Jagger, Grey never would have made it through those last two years to graduation. He’s the only one who understands her pain, the only one who knows what it’s like to force yourself to keep moving when your dreams are shattered. Jagger swears he’ll always be there for her, but no one has ever been able to hold on to him. He’s not the kind of guy to settle down.

It’s true that no one has ever been able to keep Jagger–because he’s only ever belonged to Grey. While everyone else worries over Grey’s fragility, he’s the only one who sees her strength. Yet as much as he wants Grey, he knows her heart will always be with Ben. Still they can’t deny the heat that is growing between them–a passion that soon becomes too hot to handle. But admitting their feelings for each other means they’ve got to face the past. Is being together what Ben would have wanted . . . or a betrayal of his memory that will eventually destroy them both?

Two years ago - only days before her wedding, Grey's 20-year-old fiancé Ben died of a sudden heart-attack.She spent the last two years at college just trying to survive from day to day and to get her degree and go back to her hometown of Thatch.Jagger - who's been both Grey's and Ben's best friend since they were kids - has been by her side through everything. He's the only person she can go to if she needs to talk and cry about missing Ben. He was just always there to make things better, always there to help me...always there to be everything I needed. But Jagger, who's also grieving for the loss of his best friend, has kept a secret from Grey for almost ten years. A secret that Grey somehow never guessed - everybody else seems to know about it though....Jagger is in love with Grey. And he hates himself for that. Hates that his best friend had to die and leave Grey behind. Hates that it wasn't Jagger who died. Hates that he has those feelings for someone who will never be able to love him back. And now that Grey saw his paintings - paintings/drawings Jagger made of her - the secret is out in the open.Grey doesn't really know how to deal with this new information - what to think - what to do - so she leaves town and stays with her friend Janie in Seattle. And Jagger lets her go, he wants her to be happy, to think about things....But he won't let her stay away forever. He's going after her ☺But Grey's conscience and grief and guilt are not the only problems standing in their way...There's Jagger's mom - his sister - his Ex ....WHAT WiLL HAPPEN WiTH GREY & JAGGER???WiLL THEIR FUTURE HAVE A CHANCE???WiLL THERE BE A HEA???WiLL THERE BE A HORRiBLE CLiFFHANGER???Nope - I'm not telling you ☺Ok - I can tell you that there won't be a Cliffhanger - it's a standalone Romance - the next books in the series will be about other people we met in Thatch! ☺__________________________ I REALLY LOoOVED THE BOOK!What I didn't love and what I was literally even a little bit scared of .... was the cover?? Am I the only one who thinks this cover and especially the people on it are a bit - a LOT - creepy??They look like some kind of Aliens or cult-recruitment people!!! And the colorful colors make it even worse!!! There's nothing really colorful about the book and well - I think the cover is just creepy...BUT THANK YOU MOLLY .... as soon as I 'met' Jagger, I was in love with him. He's soooo amazing! Such an adorable and hot former bad boy... he's so patient and sweet with Grey!!!And he looks NOTHING like the guy on the cover ☺After reading the blurb we already know that this was going to be a really emotional book...There were lots of scenes that made me and Dawson cry!!! ☺But thankfully we also have some verrry sexy & romantic scenes too☺I sometimes had the feeling that I didn't want to keep on reading, because I was afraid that maybe.. the story won't have a happy ending - maybe everybody would die - or just only one important person - I was really afraid.... But - phew - nobody - other than Ben in the beginning - dies!I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF THIS BOOK!!!!Everything sad & moving & funny & sexy & suspensy!!!You will definitely have to add Jagger to your Book Boyfriend List.Oh and can I just say how much I loved his name?? Jagger!!!Ugh! My Dad was this huge Rolling Stones fan too - should I ever get a dog or a pet pig ;) I will SO name them Jagger too ☺ LETTING GO was an amazingly moving Romance about letting go, moving on and of finally finding a HEA!I couldn't put it down! READ IT!!!

4.5 Move On StarsBe Warned...This is a Molly McAdams book. So you what that means...you can't predict any freaking thing. You know she holds no one sacred. She will take out anyone. Without even breaking a sweat. So we have learned to not get too attached to her characters or to get too invested in where you think the story is going. Grey and Ben have been together since forever. They are happy and happily getting married. Then....you get Mollied. Ben dies. You know I don't do spoilers but this happens in the first chapter. Molly just couldn't wait to knock you around. Two years later, Grey is still just barely surviving. She has floated through the past few years in a grief haze. The only reason she hasn't starved is because Jagger has made sure she is feed. It's hard to continue on in life when the person holding your heart can't.Jagger is Ben and Grey's best friend. He is grieving for Ben as much as Grey except he also has to grieve for who Grey used to be. He's hoping she will come back again. But he knows he can't push her. She has enough people doing that.No one ever said we had to move on, we just need to keep moving.Jagger and Grey both support each other as they keep moving forward. Jagger has his own secrets. Secrets that he holds tight. Like the note kept folded in his wallet, he hasn't found the right time to tell Grey how he feels. As Grey comes out of her fog, she has lots of new emotions to fill up her days. Sadness, confusion, emptiness, and maybe...just a little touch of hope.I was overreacting. I was overreacting because I was terrified that he was right, and I didn't want him to be.As Jagger and Grey try to keep moving, they move back to their home town. Back to parents, expectations, old flames, painful memories, sweet memories, and new memories. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. This is a Molly McAdams. Something is going to happen that you don't expect. And it does. Like holy schmoly does it. Facebook stalking goes is to whole new level. And not just that, but a car gets Instagramed, one mom gets crazy while another has her mind on condoms. There are sisters, big brothers, little brothers, sexy roommates, charcoal, messages from the grave, mean ex's, mysteriously unlocking locks, a great warehouse, coffee bars, and romantic docks. That's just one of the big Molly Twists. There are more. Don't even ask...you know I won't tell. Letting Go is an emotional read that gives you new reasons to cry and cringe. The characters are real. Really hurt. Really trying. Really scared to let go of the past and make a new future. Really good read. Just don't think you know what's going to happen next.

4 thought-provoking stars. This story really kept me turning the pages just to see if Grey and Jagger were ever going to see the light of day. The story line was so sad and I had to take small breaks away just so I could finish. I'm not saying it wasn't a great story, because it was, and the writing was great, but there's something I can't describe that keeps me from giving it 5 stars. I've loved all of Molly McAdams books, but this one left me thinking...why?

Loved it. I never found Grey to be annoying with her feelings as Molly wrote the emotions and what Grey's character was going through perfectly. Jagger, well he was the best Hero character you can get. Loved how he didn't sleep around, how patient he was and how he never crossed any lines when Grey was in a relationship with Ben. The storyline to this flowed and things along the way made it hard to put down. The only thing that I found predictable was who the 'someone' was that was wanting to keep them apart, also would of liked to have known what happened to them too. But otherwise this is a story that won't be forgotten quickly and will be a re read book...

Another awesome novel by Molly McAdams. First off....Jagger is the best hero. He is so selfless, kind, smart, sweet, the list is endless. What a weird and difficult situation he is put in, loving his best friends girl. He handles it very well. Never once does he push Grey and is more than happy to talk about Ben. He always has put Greys feelings before his own and I loved that about him. He pulled them both through a difficult time and was Greys rock. Sure it did take awhile for Grey to realise her feelings, but this wasn't just all about her moving on a having trouble doing so. There was other drama taking place and it definitely made the story more interesting and less repetitive. Towards the end of the book a huge secret comes out and oh boy did not see any of those twists coming. While I can understand the reasons for keeping such a thing hidden my mind was boggled with all the 'what ifs'. I was glad to see Grey grew and healed towards the end. Overall it was a very captivating emotional story and I loved every minute of it.

This book had me constantly leaving status updates on Goodreads as I read it. I loved Jagger and Grey, but I did NOT like Jagger’s sister Charlie. There were also so many times that I wanted to cry in this. While there was the one aspect that is always in stories that annoys me, even though I know, I know, it’s part of what helps with the dram and suspense. I hate how people don’t tell the important person whatever some secret is that will upset them, because really it’s a pretty stupid reason why they don’t. And if they would just do it right away, they wouldn’t probably have some of the problems. But as I said, drama. A great book otherwise! Review first appeared on Lisa Loves Literature.

Dark Faerie Tales

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Beautiful, emotional story that delivered a wonderful message about loss, hope, and moving forward. I would highly recommend this to new adult fans looking for a fast, sexy, heartwarming story!Opening Sentence: “Then over there is where the girls and I will be waiting before the ceremony starts,” I said, pointing to all-season tent standing just off to the side. The Review:Two years ago twenty year old Ben Craft died from an unknown genetic heart condition. One minute he was playing golf and talking to his best friend Jagger and then he suddenly died. It was three days before he was to marry his childhood sweetheart, Grey. Grey and Ben had been together since they were thirteen years old and they figured that they would have a lifetime together. But instead of getting her happily-ever-after, Grey was left alone and devastated. For the last two years she has been going through the motions of life, but it has been a struggle. There is no way she would have made it through her grief without Jagger by her side. Jagger, Ben, and Grey have been friends since they were kids and Jagger is the only person that can understand what Grey is going through. They both lost someone they loved and they have forced each other to keep moving.Jagger will always be there for Grey no matter what. Unknown to Grey, he has been in love with her since they were kids, but he knows that her heart will always belong to Ben. But when Grey finds out that Jagger has always had more than friendly feelings for her she realizes that she might feel the same way for him. Would it be a disgrace to Ben’s memory for them to be together or would he have wanted them to find happiness with each other? If they have any chance of making their relationship work they are both going to have to come to terms with the past and learn to move on together.Grey was a great heroine that I connected with instantly. Reading her story was devastating and while I haven’t ever gone through anything close to what she went through, I could easily sympathize with her situation. It was heartbreaking to see how broken she was for such a long time after the death of her fiance, but watching her learn to deal with it was very inspirational. The type of loss she experienced is something you never quite get over, but as the days turn into weeks and the weeks turned into years Grey slowly started to live her life again. Many might see her as weak or whiny with how she deals with her grief, but to me it made her feel more realistic. There were a few times that I got annoyed with how she would treat Jagger, but nothing that bothered me too bad. I am glad I got to read her story and enjoyed getting to know her character.Jagger is hands down my favorite part about this entire book. He is a sexy guy that has a heart of gold. He is respectful, kind, honest, and a great listener. He seriously has the patience of a saint when it comes to waiting and being there for Grey. Not only is he dealing with the grief of losing his best friend, he is helping Grey deal with her grief as well. It is obvious from the very beginning that Jagger and Grey are meant to be together, but that doesn’t mean their relationship is easy. In many ways they both feel like they are betraying Ben and his memory. But as things between them heat up it is undeniable that they have amazing chemistry. I loved every minute of their relationship and thought that they were perfect for each other. Jagger put a stamp on my heart right off the bat and I loved his character.Letting Go is a heartwarming, emotional story about learning to move on and deal with grief. This is a fairly quick read and I really enjoyed it. McAdams did a wonderful job balancing out the sad parts with the sexy parts. This is definitely a love story, but it also looks at all the aspects of grief. Both of the main characters lost someone they cared about deeply and watching them deal with that lost was both hard and inspirational. The romance developed perfectly and felt very realistic to me. The plot held a few surprises that actually added some great drama to the story and the pacing was spot on. I will admit that I read this about a week ago or so and I am having a little bit of a hard time recalling some of the things that happened in the story. I wouldn’t say its forgettable per say, but it’s not extremely memorable either. I have come to realize that McAdams stories can be hit or miss for me, but luckily this one was definitely a hit. Even though I haven’t loved everything she has written, I still think she is an amazing author and really look forward to reading more from her in the future. I would highly recommend this book if you are looking for a fast, sexy story filled with emotion and romance.Notable Scene:“No one else,” I said softly. “As unfair and horrible as it is for me to say it, I know it would kill me to see you with someone else. I don’t know when I feel in love with you. I can’t look back and remember when exactly it changed for me, only that it has.”“I don’t care about the when, Grey.” He smiled as he leaned in and placed another deceptively soft kiss on my lips. What seemed so innocent had my legs weakening and my eyelids fluttering shut as I clung to his shirt. “What’s next?” he breathed against my lips when he pulled back.FTC Advisory: William Morrow/Harper Collins provided me with a copy of Letting Go.
