Lost in Love Audiobook Summary

In this second book of the City Love trilogy by bestselling author Susane Colasanti, three girls share a Manhattan apartment the summer before college begins. Lost in Love captures the essence of summer love, self-discovery, and sisterhood, a perfect fit for fans of Sarah Dessen, Jenny Han, and Jennifer E. Smith.

Sadie was convinced that Austin was her soul mate, but after discovering his secret she wonders if she even knows him at all. Darcy was all about fun boy adventures with no strings attached . . . until her ex moves to New York City to win her back. Things are getting serious with Rosanna and her boyfriend, but will she be able to break free of her past and let him in? With no parents, no rules, and an entire city to explore, this is the summer that will change their lives forever.

Told from alternating points of view, Lost in Love weaves a story of first love, first heartbreak, and everything in between.

ResubName: Faith WisniewskiBook title: Lost in LovePersonal Response:Personally I did not like Lost in Love . It was very boring and not really that realistic. How would three girls of all different social classes and backgrounds end up being best friends? Also, the book was constantly switching perspectives, so if you didn't read the chapter title you wouldn't understand who it was about. I was constantly rereading trying to understand what happened and who it happened to. The book also ends out of the middle of nowhere. Lost in Love was an ok book. Plot Summary: Lost in Love switches point of views between three girls. Sadie is a very optimistic girl but let's not trouble get to her. She skips work for 4 days after finding out that her “soap mate” was married and didn't tell her. Sadies roommates, Darcy and Rosanna are going through problems too. Darcy has a boyfriend that she is very happy with, she has a very strong connection with him. Then out of the middle of nowhere her ex-boyfriend, Logan, shows up to try and win her back. Little does she know is that he's only there to try and scam money out of her. Rosanna is dating a rich boy who claims he is actually in love with her. Later on in the book, Donovan's friend from high school shows up. Donovan drops everything for her so Rosanna starts to question their relationship. Rosanna has been through some very tough times in her life and she's not sure if she should open up about them or not. In the end, she might have to because of a very rude girl met. This girl keeps trying to ruin her life and make her look like a fool all just to avenge her uncle. To find out more you'll have to read the second book.Recommendation:I would recommend this book to people who like reading series. If you don't read these books in order, they are very hard to understand. Also, the second book ends in the middle of a thought, so you need to read the third book if you want to know how Lost in Love ends.

Personal Response:I really enjoyed reading Lost in Love. My favorite parts about this book were how it was not predictable at all. There were events that happened that really threw me off guard. It was a different type of romance book. I would definitely read this book again, I enjoyed reading it so much. I also like having the different point of views in this book, you would get to see everyone’s opinion and how they see a situation not just one person’s point of view. Plot Summary: Lost in Love is the second book in a three book trilogy. This trilogy is based around three girls who did not know each other before they moved in together. They all go to the University of New York together and become really close friends. Sadie one of the main characters had a boyfriend who ended up being married and she broke up with me, but he is trying to get back together with her, but she does not want to since he lied to her. Rosanna who is one of the roommates, her boyfriend is a rich trust fund kid who is going to school to be an investment banker, while Rosanna is the exact opposite of him. She does not feel like she belongs with him and is very self-conscious about being with him. Due to, one of his old girlfriends from high school is trying to take him away from Rosanna, she does not like that he is spending more time with his ex-girlfriend instead of her. Darcy the last roommate, her ex-boyfriend from back home in California flew all the way to New York to win her back. Darcy later finds out that is not the case he is just trying to take her money. Characterization: Rosanna at the beginning of the book was very reserved and quiet, she had to change to be able to get somewhere in the tough world of New York City. In the beginning, she would not speak up about situations she did not like or she felt uncomfortable in. In the end, she would speak up and defend herself and stick with her morals and values. She was very quiet and would not talk to strangers for any reason, now she will go to stranger’s house to confront them about a problem she notices in their child. Recommendation: I would recommend this book to high school girls, who like romance books. This book is all about romance and the drama of boys. Also, I do not think that this book would be a good fit for middle school students. This book has some vulgar language, which is not appropriate for middle school readers. Boys would also not like this book, due to all the romance and drama, which they do not enjoy.

Susane Colasanti’s, Lost in Love, book two of the City Love trilogy, is an emotional love story of three girls and their lives in New York City together. The book is formatted so that every chapter is a different girl's perspective on what is going on at that moment. Colasanti show the reader how Sadie, Darcy, and Rosanna learn to live with each other and also learn to live with the struggles of love. I enjoy the plot quite a lot because there is always a new conflict. Since we are following three different girls, you would think that this could get confusing. However, Colasanti makes it easy to keep up with because everything that happens in the story ties in with the overall idea. The author writes the book in a way that a normal teenage/college girl would speak. Yet, she always uses very strong words like “epiphany” and “impulsive”. Words like these make the story more interesting a show how a character thinks. I would recommend this book to teenage girls who enjoy chic-lits but might not love to read. Speaking as someone who does not adore reading, this series is making me appreciate it way more. I would not have someone younger than high school read this because it does contain some inappropriate language and behavior. I would rate this book at five stars. I will definitely be reading it again.

Susane Colasanti's books are like a good soap opera, juicy, full of twists and full of humorous moments as well. In this installment of the "City Love" series. Sadie's still trying to figure out what to do about her relationship with Austin,as it's very complicated,to say the least. Darcy's trying to hang loose, but she might have a new love interest where she is. Lastly, Rosanna's trying to figure out how to let Donovan in while also working through her childhood trauma, and also trying to adjust to the finer things in life,as she's grown up in the Chicago area struggling to get by. All three ladies have to reevaluate their beliefs about love and life in NYC. Overall,a quick, fun and thought provoking read!

Lost in Love is the 2nd book of the City Love trilogy. This book is quite simple-minded and a typical young adult book. Although it seems like a full on romance book, the focus was more of the three characters who live together and their daily struggles and also the friendship between them. Each character had very different personality and unique love life. I was quite shocked by the ending as all thrre of them ended up single and decided to focus on themselves. I realised there is a 3rd book to this series, hence the abrupt ending. I really do want to know who each of them end up dating and how they develop and improve themselves further.I did not read the first book, City Love. I think it is not necessary to as I did not feel lost while reading the 2nd book.

Lost in love is a great 2nd book to City Love. It continues the point of views of the characters which is a huge factor to the series. Throughout the book, it kind of leaves you on edge wanting read more and figure out what happens next to each character. I personally love the idea of the characters going through good and bad times throughout a regular relationships, and not sharing false things about being in a relationship or giving the reader high hopes. This book is just as good as the first.

** spoiler alert ** If you have not picked up the first book in the trilogy City Love, then you are missing out!! (I highly suggest you run to the nearest bookstore and pick it up before reading ahead) I have always been a huge fan of Susane and this book reminds why. The writing flows so well you get lost in the book and you find yourself in New York with Rosanna, Sadie and Darcy. Much like the first book in this trilogy, I could not put it down once I got started. I wanted to find out what happened and what was going to happen next. Three very different girls in one huge city...you know its going to be good!We pick up right where we left off with Rosanna and her relationship with D. I think that her past really holds her back and its a very good reason. But I do think that Rosanna needs to open up more with D and really tell him how she feels. D also needs to give Rosanna a break and understand that she feels like the jealous girlfriend for a reason. Now I'm not one to go and spoil a book, especially if you haven't read the first one and are already lost, but D seriously needs to prioritize and realize that Rosanna is a great girl that would keep him grounded and she is actually trying to open up to him by the end of the book.Darcy has her ex back...oh great. I got a weird vibe from Logan the second he showed up. I knew he was going to be doing some sketch but Susane totally blew it out the park with that plot (Seriously, read the book!) because that caught me completely off guard! Logan needs to be gone but I want Darcy to get sweet, sweet revenge. I can't wait to see how that is going to play out. I think Darcy could use a little tough love and I'm kinda glad Rosanna gives it to her because Darcy is in major need of it. She needs to realize that she can't just go around fixing things (or people's lives) with money and I hope Rosanna is able to open up to Darcy and Sadie about her past so that maybe Darcy can learn a bit more about compassion.I felt so bad for Sadie. I literally wanted to crawl into the book and give her a hug. Austin was an ass (excuse the language) and I don't really think he deserves a second chance because he cheated on his wife. Whats to stop him from doing it again? Sadie deserves so much better and I actually wanted to see more of Danny and see if a relationship blossomed with Sadie. Her optimism is so contagious, even if she is fictional. It is so refreshing having someone like her because she radiates positivity even if is she struggling with some of her own demons. I hope that Austin sees her as we, the readers, do and he realizes that she deserves the best he has to offer. Is it too early to begin a countdown for the third book? I want to know how Susane is going to tie up all the loose ends and to see where each of these girls end up. I think the girls really developed a bit more this time around because you can see where they each grew and how they tried new things even if it is just a summer version of themselves. I may have to start a countdown after all. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. Read the rest of the review on my blog

Lost in Love is an improvement over the first book, City Love, which is understandable considering that the second title in any trilogy is usually where the most conflict lies. All three girls face something unexpected and challenging, whether it's Sadie's heartbreak over Austin concealing his marriage, Rosanna's attempts to deal with D's too-close female friend, or a betrayal catching Darcy off guard, just when she'd started to let go of some cynicism.Rosanna points out, "D is treating me to the best restaurants and venues on the nights I see him, but I'm eating bagels for dinner and collecting coupons on the nights I don't?" A central theme throughout the novel is the gap between the life you have and the life you hope to have.Rosanna on her feelings about D's attractive female friend: "It doesn't feel like that's all. It feels like she was there first and she wanted me to know it. Like there's something more between them. She managed to make me feel totally insecure in less than a minute. And now I have to accept that my boyfriend is hanging out with her." Colasanti does a good job of capturing what it's like to be caught between a rock and a hard place, accepting what your gut is telling you while trying not to be branded with a "paranoid" or "crazy" girlfriend stereotype. Some of the most thought-provoking lines from Lost in Love: * "Sometimes to start feeling like yourself again, you just have to remember who you are." * "Guys use excuses like that all the time to justify being cowards. Like when a guy says he's going to call and then he doesn't? He just wants to make an easy escape without admitting that he's never going to call. Guys don't want heavy confrontations with girls they're not into. They don't want to deal with the repercussions of admitting the truth." * "I didn't let being afraid prevent me from taking action." * "People can be soul mates and still screw it up. People can be oblivious to their issues or have no interest in working them out. People can lie and cheat and deceive. When you find true love, it doesn't always look the way you thought it would."When it comes to the latter, the idea that a person can still be worthwhile and valuable in a relationship, despite their flaws, regrets, or past mistakes, is something I don't hear mentioned enough. It's much easier to see things in black and white - the "villain," the "victim," the "good person," the "bad person," etc. - while failing to notice that creating these pat stereotypes blocks one from seeing the *person* behind them, with all their fears, insecurities, motives, pain, thought processes, and complexities. It will be interesting to see how things play out in the final novel of the trilogy.
