Minx Audiobook Summary

It takes a minx to tempt a rogue…Beautiful and feisty Henrietta Barrett has never followed the dictates of society. She manages her elderly guardian’s estate, prefers to wear breeches rather than dresses, and answers to the unlikely name of Henry. But when her guardian passes away, her beloved home falls into the hands of a distant cousin.

And it takes a rogue to tame her…William Dunford, London’s most elusive bachelor, is stunned to learn that he’s inherited property, a title…and a ward bent on making his first visit his last. Henry is determined to continue running the Cornwall estate without help from the handsome new lord, but Dunford is just as sure he can change things…starting with his wild young ward. But turning Henry into a lady makes her not only the darling of the town, but an irresistible attraction to the man who thought he could never be tempted.

I loved Dunford since the first book, and I was waiting for his book to read.I really enjoyed his love story with Henry (Henrietta). She was very different from Emma and Belle, but I liked her boyish character. One tiny negative thing is that in the end I would prefered them to realize the truth earlier, because the misunderstanding went a bit too long. (view spoiler)[ I was surprised they didn't realized the misunderstanding Before the wedding (hide spoiler)]

This was a re-read. I liked it better the first time, but it was still enjoyable.I thoroughly enjoyed Henry (the heroine). She had so many modern sensibilities. The writing was funny and intriguing. I finished quickly.

This book must be my favorite Quinn, I read it and reread it many times. I was such a tomboy as a kid and Henry felt like me when I read the book. Dunford is one of the funniest male characters in Quinn's novels. This story will always have a special place in my heart.I don't remember how many times I read this book in my teens and early twenties but now that I reread it I find it quite cute, romantic and fun but as much as I love Henry I don't know why she didn't come and tell Dunford about his mistress... I'm sure he would have told her everything but that letter bit at the end is truly a nightmare. The story is about a girl called Henrietta but goes by Henry, she is an orphan living in Cornwall with her guardians, until they both die and the new lord is to inherit the estate and her! She is an unusual girl for the time, totally tomboyish, always in breeches and runs the estate.Dunford is the new lord and Hen's guardian, but he doesn't know it, as she tries her best to make him leave the estate they fall in love. Dunford rein down his feelings because Hen is very innocent and she had an unusual upbringing, so he decides to take her to London to his friends so she can learn to be a lady and maybe find a husband in the season.Hen doesn't want another man... she wants Dunford but he insists on the season. When Henry is a success and men are all over her, he goes nuts and marries her within a month!A jealous woman tries to break them apart and it almost destroys their wedding and marriage, but they work it by the end and have a little baby girl named Georgina, Little George!

Not only is JQ enormously funny, but her heroines are always tremendously likeable and this one is no exception. This book made me laugh a lot, but also made me cry and that's no small feat, believe me.

I'm glad Dunford got a story! I liked the hero and heroine and they had great chemistry... but I absolutely despise misunderstanding tropes. If people simply TALKED to each other, about a solid third of this book wouldn't have been needed. I honestly was rolling my eyes I was so over it towards the end. Also, the fact that she was his ward was a bit TOO odd for me. I was hoping she would age out of being his ward by the time they married, but nope, they married while she was still in his care which... yeah...All in all, it's a classic Julia Quinn in that there were parts I couldn't stand but ultimately, I love her writing style.
