Moment of Truth Audiobook Summary
Attorney Jack Newlin comes home one evening to find his wife, Honor, dead on the floor of their elegant dining room.Convinced that he knows who killed her – and determined to hid the truth – Jack decides to make it look as though he did it. Staging the crime scene so that the evidence incriminates him, he then calls the police. And to hammer the final nail in his coffin, he hires the most inexperienced lawyer he can find, a reluctant rookie by the name of Mary Di Nunzio, employed at the hot Philadelphia firm of Rosato and Associates.
Unfortunately for Jack, hiring Mary may turn out to be his only mistake.
Though inexperienced, Mary doubts Jack’s confession and begins to investigate the crime. Her ethics and instincts tell her she can’t defend a man who wants only one thing – to convict himself. Or can she? Smarter, gutsier, and more determined than she has any right to be, Mary decides to stock with the case. With help from the most unexpected sources, she sets out to prove what really happened – because as any lawyer knows, a case is never as simple as it seems.
And nothing is ever certain until the final moment of truth.

Just read this one on my training trip to Atlanta. I liked it. I randomly picked it up of bookstore, and it was fine reading.

I have not read a book by Lisa Scottoline for a while and I loved this one. It was witty and had you guessing the why of the murder and not so much who did it. Although, some would say they even knew the why because Honor Newlin was not a very likeable character. Mary DiNunzio was the main person in this one and her family made an appearance in this one. I like the Italian side of these books as it gives you a look at real Italian life. I hope that Brinkley is in more books to come and also Jack as it appears he might like Mary just a little.I am giving this 5 out of 5 stars and can't wait to read the next one. I need to get caught up on this series.

Very enjoyable. Even though I saw "who done it" a mile away due to multiple clues, it was still fun. Lots of twists.

When attorney Jack Newlin discovers his murdered wife's body, he thinks his daughter killed her and he confesses rather than see her go to jail. He then hires inexperienced attorney Mary DiNunzio to defend him. But Mary believes he is innocent and decides to prove it, placing herself, Jack, and Jack's daughter, Paige, in danger. Can Mary find the killer before she becomes the next victim? This legal thriller is a fun read. The characters, for the most part, are well written and come to life, especially Mary and her family, although I got tired of reading about Mary's Catholic guilt complex. Jack, and his daughter, Paige, are also well written, Paige especially, who, as a teen model, could have been a cliché, but instead she is a sad, complex, character. The secondary characters are also well developed, especially Lou and cops Brinkley and Kovich. The plot had enough twists and turns that the identity of the real murderer was a complete surprise. This is a good book for fans of legal thrillers.

When Jack Newlin comes home to find his wife dead on their elegant dining room floor, he's convinced he knows who has killed her. He sets out to stage the murder so that he appears to be guilty. To hammer the final nail in his coffin, he hires the most inexperienced lawyer he can find: Mary DiNunzio of Rosato and Associates.Unfortunately for Jack, hiring Mary might be his biggest mistake. Inexperienced she might be, but Mary soon discovers that instead of defending a guilty client claiming to be innocent, she defending an innocent client claiming to be guilty. I give this story a B+!

Each book is better than the one before it. In this book, we are back with Mary. This story line has so many twists and turns, you need to really pay attention to keep up. We get to go along with Mary, as she deals with police corruption, two partners working against one another, representing a client, then getting fired by that client, and then representing the client again. These are just some of the things we get to experience with Mary. When you find out who is behind everything, you will be surprised, but not for any of the reasons you might imagine. Read the book and find out what I am talking about. This is not a spoiler alert, this is just a small bit of advice, no matter how close you pay attention to clues along the way, there is nothing that will tell you who it is.

Loved this book. Love this author! Have been reading her rosato and associates series after it was recommended by a friend and I have to say I get hooked on every book. This one specifically kept throwing me curve balls as to who was involved and I really liked it. A lot of these negative reviews sound like the grabbed a random book and haven’t taken the first few to connect with the characters which I think is why I get more and more invested with every book I read from her.

** spoiler alert ** I LOVED THIS BOOK! Scottoline's books are always fast paced and very exciting. This one was full of twists and turns, implicating more and more people in the whodunit. You don't find out until the very end who the real doers were. The characters are very likeable. I am always cheering Mary on. I love her perseverance and determination to get at the truth. I really liked that she and detectives were ultimately able to work together to solve this case. Read it. You'll be glad you did.

Started out to not seem like much of a mystery as the husband confessed to the murder of his wife. But one of the two cops hearing the confession has his doubts and so does Mary Dinunzio. This was supposedly the first Dinunzio book but there were references to a back story which I guess was in the earlier 3 Rosato and Associates series books that I haven't read. This was Mary's first big case on her own. Kept me reading-
