Otter: The Best Job Ever! audiobook

Otter is just so dang cute. No matter how simple the story, he and Teddy win the show every time.

Our K-2 grade students can't get enough of Otter, a mischievous little pet who shares his daily adventures as Otter Keeper goes to work. It all began with his first book I Am Otter and now several books later, Otter has also crossed over into beginning reader books, a real treat for early readers who can't get enough. Pair his books with a visit to Otter's own website/blog, where students can dress him up in hilarious costume combos, while practicing their drag n drop mouse skills. I can't keep these books on the library shelves. Perfect for author, character, series study. Keep more books coming, Otter!

Otter and Teddy try out a few different jobs inspired by the fact that Otter Keeper has a job. None of the jobs are quite the right fit for Teddy so Otter comforts him by highlighting the the thing Teddy is very good at, which is being Otter's best friend. Likewise, when Otter Keeper comes home he comforts Otter by pointing out how good Otter is at taking care of Teddy.Love this Otter! Great beginning reader text or read aloud for PreK-2.

Otter thinks it unfair that Otter Keeper has a job and he doesn't...so while Otter Keeper is away at work, Otter tries to find a job for both himself and Teddy. Of course Otter makes a bit of a mess but when Otter keeper gets home, he isn't mad.

Great book to introduce young readers to different jobs in their community. Young Otter and Teddy find out they already have some pretty important jobs at home too.

Otter helps Teddy try to find a job but nothing is right. Very enjoyable story and illustrations.

Ever since I spotted Otter on the web, I have been a huge fan. And whenever I show one of my books to anyone else (particularly under age ten), off it goes, out of my home. Suddenly I'm like a brick-and-mortar bookstore: I can't keep them in stock. I have to buy one at the nearest store so I can keep a copy for myself. I was hopeful, when I saw that this one was an "I can read" version, that it would be too juvenile for my average audience and I could actually hold onto my own Otter book forever.But no: this one is amazingly popular too. And I suppose that's no surprise, since the "I can read" stories come with bigger pictures, and very basic words - no more than two sentences per page. Apparently perfect for the new and learning reader. And the story is simple and direct; I wish I had read it in college. Back then, I was so confused by that life-determining conundrum of what my major should be, I tormented everyone near and far. Otter goes through a similar conundrum trying to determine her job - since Keeper goes off every day at some sort of occupation - but the answer is so simple and charming. Of course, finding Teddy's career is a bit more challenging and fraught with potential disaster as graphically depicted. (Even Giraffe makes an appearance.) A lovely story.I'm sad that this book isn't in hardcover form - or cardboard - because already my copy has had coffee spilled on it (OK, that was my fault and my coffee), been grabbed by sticky fingers (not me, but it could have been), and I'm afraid it's not much longer for this world. I may have buy myself a second copy this time. Well worth it.
