Lewis Grosso is the narrator of Pete the Cat: Cavecat Pete audiobook that was written by James Dean
James Dean is the original creator and illustrator of Pete the Cat. He is a self-taught artist originally from Fort Payne, Alabama. His passion for drawing became apparent at a young age, and as a child, you could find James drawing his favorite characters like Snoopy and Yogi Bear.
James earned his degree in electrical engineering from Auburn University and went on to work for Georgia Power for a number of years. Eventually, he was called to pursue his art full-time and began selling his work at art festivals around the Southeast.
It was during this time that he began creating paintings and drawing of his cat, Pete. The little blue cat showed up as a character in James’s artwork around 1999 and has been a permanent fixture ever since.
James Dean’s art has been sold in more than ninety galleries and shops across the United States. He has devoted his paintings to Pete the Cat for fifteen years and turned his natural love for cats into his life’s work. James published his first book, The Misadventures of Pete the Cat, a history of his artwork, in 2006, and he illustrated his first self-published children’s book, Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes, in 2008. There are now almost 100 published Pete the Cat titles with more coming out all the time.
James is humbled every day by the success that this groovy blue cat has brought him. He says positively affecting children’s lives is his number one priority, and he is grateful to have such an amazing audience to work for.

Pete plus Dinosaurs = perfection for six-year-olds! Pete is a good example of how to navigate social difficulties between friends and have a fun day together. "If it's Pete the Cat it's a 5 star book" (so far, according to grandma read-o-meter)

Pete the Cat likes playing with his dinosaur friends, so one day he plans a picnic and invites all his friends. When they all arrive and aren't getting along, Pete finds a way to make everyone happy. Cute story and illustrations.

I love the Pete the Cat series. These stories gets students engaged in the story. I love that most have the music to accompany them. I feel that Pete's great attitude and outlook on everything is a great example for young children. The children I have worked with are very receptive to Pete and his stories. In Cavecat Pete, Pete is again, just adapting to whatever comes along. Pete shows students how to compromise and be a good friend. I also love the humor in this story.

Now this was fun! An 8x8" paperback reader where Cavecat Pete wakes up on a normal cave-man type day and has a picnic day with his dinosaur friends. This was a great reader for my K5 child. She struggled on the words Ethel, definitely, and the dinosaur names but otherwise did quite well. Thanks to HC

I really like these illustrations. They are drawn like how elementary schoolers (who are good artists) might draw. I also really like the font it is written in. This book is a great resource about dinosaurs.

I'm newer on the Pete the Cat scene, but I appreciate the style of the writing and pics. Everyone is so chill in the illustrations - unlike most kids shows & books, where everyone overacts and is overexpressive. Pete and his friends are subtle, to a point where it's funny & ironic. The slang terms also feel so down-to-earth and natural. The plot related to ordinary circumstances for kids.
