I love Kate Hudson and the fact that she narrated this book. It's certainly not a fix it or tell all book about how to look like her or be her. It's not even really new information. She shares tools and wisdom of what she's learned over the years that have helped her and encourages listeners to use the information that works for them. To find ways to love themselves. To be good to your body. Love your body. I'm already fairly health conscious, but this gave me new things to think about. Meditation isn't something I do, but might try because of this. If it can bring calm to my day, why not?!This is a good listen for anyone at any stage of their life and health goals. Plug in and go for a walk or while doing dishes and pretend she's your BFF. It's fun.

Such an amazing read. So much of this book resonated with me in terms of things I am currently doing/experiencing or things that I feel would benefit me greatly. As someone who values spirituality, mindfulness, and health, but doesn't always follow the rules, this is a breath of fresh air and exactly what I needed. This is a pretty traditional self-help book, but I really, REALLY enjoyed it. Kate Hudson discusses everything from healthy eating, to being active, to mindfulness. There are two things I like about this book. 1. Kate is very clear throughout that we need to learn to listen to our bodies and find out what makes us happy. She gives a variety of ideas to improve our diet, a variety of ways to exercise, and a variety of methods to be more mindful.2. Kate uses the concept of a "drawing board" to encourage us to write down and track our goals and progress. This is what makes this self-help book unique. It prevents you from simply reading all of the good ideas and then forgetting them. Throughout the book she gives specific instructions on how to record the changes you want to make, and to continue to "go back to your drawing board" throughout our journey of becoming more healthy and happy.I would highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to improve their physical, mental or emotional health. :)

What a great motivational book. I havent read many books like this, so I dont have a lot to compare it to. But to me this was really great.I felt like I could relate to a lot of the things that were mentioned, and I do have a lot of the same opinions that Kate has.It is supposed to be a book that will motivate you to live a healthier lifestyle, but I definitely felt like I could use a lot of the insporation on other aspects of my life, and that was very enjoyable.This book will be an audiobook that I am gonna keep on my app, and listen to it every now and again when I need a little extra boost of confidence. Cause that is what this book will do. Give you the tools to start enjoying life as it is, and to work on finding a pretty happy lifestyle. Enjoy the little things in life as well as the big ones.So much fun that it was Kate Hudson herself who read the audiobook.

There is so much I could say about this book. Maybe because Kate said so much about so many topics. And her style is clear, authentic, intelligent and welcoming. Also I'm overwhelmed about how much I can do to improve my life... One thing is consistently exercising and this is what she says about its benefits: --reduces stress --improves attention and memory --restores mental energy and stamina --increases longevity --strengthens our bones, heart skin --Staying active pumps energy into our body and our brains and makes us feel alive! I borrowed it from the library and will probably buy a copy so I can highlight SO many things. I might also get the audio.

Although the book is a bit repetitive and not the most well written, it provides a lot of good advice and insights about healthy eating, mindfullness, and what could work for you. I was able to gain some great takeaways and enjoyed her I find Hudson and her book to be open, honest, and pretty happy.

I'm pretty surprised by the negative reviews here as I felt this book had a lot of substance. It has quizzes, advice, recipes, exercises, etc. Hudson is open and honest and I enjoyed learning from her experiences. Her ginger tea recipe is awesome and I make it regularly!

I listened to this as an audio book and quickly realized it would help to have a physical copy as there are workbooking tasks throughout the book. There are also numerous places in the audiobook where the listener is referred to an addendum when a list or recipe would be featured in a visual version, which is less than ideal. Kate Hudson's narration was soothing and pleasant to listen to, and I felt like I was engaged in some self care just by listening to her speak. I would caution against listening while driving, however, as she walks through a relaxing meditation. She's very clear throughout the book that what works for her won't work for everyone, and her book is a tool to help yourself in what works best for you. The book is filled with tidbits of knowledge and healthy practices in an easy to digest way.

Such a cute book, Kate does a wonderful job at bringing readers into her world. She writes like she's having a conversation with you. She reads it herself on audible and sounds as though she were your best friend. The hardcover is very pretty and cute. She manages to cover basic nutrition and exercise information and also delves into some of the current health trends one might be curious about, for example she talks about gluten, dairy, sugar and cleanses. It's always interesting to get a celebrity's take on those things, (I wish Cameron Diaz had done the same). She takes the reader through her four pillars of health: 1) Having an intuitive relationship with your body (trusting your body's natural intelligence) 2) Eating healthy with emphasis on a mix of ayurveda and the alkaline diet, here she provides a list of alkaline and acidic foods, and a food shopping list and she even takes it a step further and shows you her weekly eating and exercise plan and provides an identical but empty planner for you to fill in your eating and exercise plan, which is fantastic compared to all the other celebrity health books out there I think hers is by far the best. 3) Movement/exercise (with some illustrations of stretches and sun salutations)4)Mind/meditation. She concludes with a section on cleansing and recommends taking hot baths with bath salts and saunas. There are lots of questionnaires to help you check in with yourself, also pretty pictures of Kate herself. She encourages you to love and accept your body at one point in the beginning of the book she actually asks you to look in the mirror and note what you like about your appearance, she then gives you some tools (see above) to become a better version of yourself.Overall, a very motivating and inspiring book that offers a glimpse into a movie star's life and how she takes care of herself body, mind and soul.

I love Kate Hudson! This book was written from her heart! She is so down to earth and relatable. This book is full of knowledge from what Kate's learned from practicing Ayurveda, yoga, meditation and more. It's not only a book but also a resource for you (the reader) to bring along with your as your journey through life. She calls her journaling system "Drawing Board"- this is where you get personal and vulnerable within yourself as your set out to change your eating habits, exercise routine and mindfulness. Using your Drawing Board as your read the book will set a habit you can go to throughout the rest of your life. The book is full of tools to help you from the drawing board, questionnaires, schedule samples, shopping lists etc. I highly recommend this book to women!

Loved this book for the simple fact that Kate Hudson supports the Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle! For those who are new to Ayurveda or those aware but still lack the essentials I highly recommend. Plus if your just borrowing the book like myself misterchakra.com also ads as a tool to familiarize and breakdown the chakras which is part of Ayurveda elemental nature that was not touched upon in the book but goes hand in hand with the doshas. Last side note..if you do wind up doing the Ayurveda 3 day cleanse or simply want to scrap in the morning to ride your tongue of toxins that your body eliminates through the night a simple spoon upside down gets the job done ✅
