Recklessly Royal Audiobook Summary

Catherine has spent her life being the perfect princess. She’s kept her hands clean, her head down, and most importantly–men at arm’s length. After all, most men are after only one thing, and for Cathy there’s a lot more at stake than her bed; she has to worry about the fate of an entire nation. But at the rate she’s going, Cathy is afraid she’ll give the Virgin Queen a run for her money. She is tired of waiting for someone good enough to come along. She has a plan, and it all hinges on seducing the one man who seems utterly unimpressed by all things royal. The one man she is tempted by more than any other . . .

When David arrives at the royal wedding of his friend, the newly ordained Duchess Samantha Rousseau, he expects to feel uncomfortable and out of his element, but he isn’t prepared to be targeted by Prince Alex’s gorgeous younger sister. With Cathy’s giant blue eyes, killer figure, and sense of humor, it won’t take long before he gives in. But when he finds out just how innocent the crown princess really is, will he play the part of knight in shining armor or the dashing rogue?

I picked up this book when I was swept up in Royal Wedding fever on Harry and Meghan's big day (which gives you a clue how long it's taken me to sit down and actually write this review!) and it hit the spot perfectly. The story starts with the huge royal wedding of the previous couple in the series so this was a brilliant choice for me to read while I was watching the build up to the real life ceremony.Cathy is Alex's sister and has spent her whole life living in the spotlight as the princes of Lilaria. She loves her country and is proud of her heritage but sometimes life can be pretty stifling with the press watching her every move and people always wanting a little piece of her. She can never be sure if people are interested in her or just want to get close hoping they'll gain something so it is very hard for her to trust anyone new. She loves her brother and his new wife Samantha and has enjoyed helping organise their wedding but she's really ready to let her hair down and have some fun.David is one of Sam's friends from America and he's travelled to Lilaria for the wedding but also to run the bird sanctuary that Sam started. He has a pretty low opinion of royalty and has no interest in life in a spotlight so he might just be the perfect person for Cathy to have a long wished for secret affair with. Both books in this series have hit the spot perfectly when it comes to fun and light-hearted romance with a feel good factor. There has been no unnecessary drama between the couples, the romances have been sweet but heartfelt with a nice amount of heat and I've enjoyed spending time in this world getting to know the characters. I'm definitely looking forward to reading Max's story next and hope the series finishes with a bang!

pure melty escapismI read Suddenly Royal last year and being useless I have yet to review it *sigh*. I will say that it is most definitely a adult fairy-tale – think The Princess Diaries for adults. Nichole Chase manages to create compelling, charismatic characters that you can’t help falling in love with and wishing you could change places with them :)In Recklessly Royal, the focus switches from Alex to his younger sister Catherine. Cathy is a selfless person putting the needs of her family and her country before her own. However, the pressure of being in the public eye is taking it’s toll on her private life. She doesn’t know who to trust and has no-one she can truly lean on.This is the second book I’ve read in a short space of time that shows how difficult life for royalty/celebrities really is. How they constantly have to questions the motives of the people around them, not being able to fully relax without the threat of harmless fun being twisted into something else by the press. You can’t help wanting to shield Cathy from any negativity she may encounter.I will be honest and say that I had a hard time remembering David from the first book, I think this is because Alex is such a larger than life presence that every other male in the book fades into the background. I loved how calm and solid David was, he is so self-assured that he carries a sense of tranquility with him that transfers to other people especially Cathy. I really would have liked to see some of the scenes from his point of view.I am not going to go into details of the plot as I think to fully appreciate it you need to read it. The nuances of life within the public eye portrayed within the story provides much food for thought, especially the way the paparazzi is run.Recklessly Royal is an enchanting, character driven story that will leave you anxious for more.

Recklessly Royal by Nichole Chase is a 2014 Avon Publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.Princess Catherine is preparing for the wedding of her brother and her best friend, Sam. She meets Sam's good friend David at the bachelorette party in which Catherine sort of makes a fool out of herself. Things get off to a shaky start because David is feeling a little protective of Sam and is worried she won't be happy living outside the US. But, at the wedding, Catherine and David have a moment together. Catherine is left feeling embarrassed once again in front of David. However, David steps up and begins to try and understand Catherine's life and why it is so hard for her to do the normal things others take for granted... such as going out to see a movie. As David immerses himself into Catherine's world he finds there are two sides to Catherine's personality. The public Princess Catherine, and the oridinary Cathy. Before the couple can begin to sort out what is happening between them, Catherine's long time personal assistant has a heart attack and leaves Catherine at the mercy of a woman named Tabitha. Tabitha's attitude and missteps will bring a world of grief to Cathy and David and could bring the budding fairytale romance to a crashing halt. This is a really cute contemporary romance/ chick lit novel. A princess longing for real love , but knowing that her evey move is being monitored makes romance very difficult. David is an American and has no idea what life is like for a princess. He doesn't know all that will go into just taking Cathy out on normal dinner and movie type date. He won't realize until it's too late the great lengths the media will go to in order to snap a few pictures of Catherine with her mystery man. While this book is written on the very light side of things, there is a little note of caution. We can judge the life of royalty or of anyone with fame or fortune, really. It all looks so glamorous, but in reality it can really suck. Naturally, things work out for the couple with each having to make some concessions. Hopefully, Catherine will have her assistant back and in good health for a long time in the future. Good, loyal people who do not have a hidden agenda are also really important to those under the microscope at all times. Overall I give this one a B. (3.5 stars rounded up to 4)

Alguém ligue a música.

With Cathy’s giant blue eyes, killer figure, and sense of humor, it won’t take long before he gives in. But when he finds out just how innocent the crown princess really is, will he play the part of knight in shining armor or the dashing rogue? This is the second book in the series Suddenly by Nichole Chase and let me tell you this. I was not disappointed.I had read a few reviews before I read this book and they all talked about how this book was completely drama free and there were no problems for Catherine and life is not that easy in real life and I disagree with them. While the romance in this book was drama free and as you guys know I love books like that. ( That is my opinion, some people do not like that ), there was no way Catherine’s life could be described as easy in this book. It was just that she handled it maturely and did not go crying something bad happened in her life which is there in so many books you would not believe. She was stalked by the media to the point where she could not leave the house without getting attacked by them. She did all the work for Sam and Alex’s wedding which was amazing by the way. It was so great to see them married and there were a lot of other problems throughout the course of the book. I admire her as a person in this book because she has a lot of strength to deal with the stuff she went through. A lot of people would have broken down and cried for help. She never asked for help and I respected her for that. There was a bit of humour in this book as well. I love the way David and her met. It was hilarious and extremely embarrassing. There were certainly sparks there. David was a gentleman. That was for damn sure. He treated her like she was supposed to be treated. He didn’t treat her as if he just cared about the title. He treated her like you treat any women. With the same respect. It was nice to get to know David better as well. We did not know him as well in the first book. Just caught glimpses of him but, it was nice to see his love of wildlife as well. He was an introvert because he was good with crowds. Again he could not see that. What is up with these Americans and them not being able to see what is right in front of them.I swear the sex scenes are getting better. Nichole Chase is getting more practice at writing them because they were so hot I got burned in this book. The romantic scenes were so sweet in this book. The way they stood up for each other when media got out of hand. I had suspicions of Tabitha right from the beginning. I had a feeling she was leaking out information to the press. I hated her so much in this book. I felt so bad for Selene but, the way Catherine handled it, I was so proud of her.It was also nice to a get a closer look at Max, Alex and Catherine’s other brother. He is so different from the two of them but, I loved him and his protective instincts.Again the plot was good. I was completely into it and I am onto the next book. Nicole Chase, I love your books and they are great summer reads or any time chill reads really….. Just so you can get a happy ending and a fairytale romance ( not without its share of problems ).

This is such a fun, quirky, cute read. From the start, with lines about Queen Elizabeth parading around in her panties while singing the national anthem, you just know that it's going to be lighthearted and fun. At first I was a little worried because I hadn't read Suddenly Royal yet, but while it would have been nice to have the backstory, it worked out just fine as a stand alone. BUT, I did go buy Suddenly Royal about a quarter of the way through this story. It's not something I wanted to miss.Cathy- or Princess Catherine- is used to the royal life and the side effects that come with it. From boys treating her like trophies to be shown off to the rigid calendar of social and princess duties, she never thought she would find someone to connect with like her older brother, Alex, and her best friend, Sam, did with each other.David is your not so average, good looking American guy. He comes to help with the running of FBT (Future Bird Trust) while Sam is on her honeymoon, and after a hilarious run in (like SERIOUSLY hilarious!!) with a drunk Cathy, he endears himself to her with his sincerity and down to earth personality. Two people could not be more opposite that David and Cathy. She's used to high society and he grew up on a South Georgia farm. It's totally perfect and works so well for the story. He brings out her relaxed, live-life-in-the-moment side, while she brings out a side of him that is protective and less introverted. After a rough start in the romance department, a few ups and downs with the media, and one sincerely annoying and easy to hate from the start fill-in assistant, they find their groove. If one paragraph can sum the whole book up, it's... "You know, I always thought I wanted a knight in shining armor." I broke away from his kiss and looked up at him with a smile. "But I like my dashing rogue much better."..Recklessly Royal is such a cute, easy to read story. I think I finished it in like 3 hours, but it never felt rushed or too short. It's written perfectly, and would make the perfect beach read for spring break or this summer. This is such an adorable, adult take on the likes of the Princess Diaries. I'm seriously excited for Max's story in Reluctantly Royal. In fact, I've already pre-ordered that one!!

I really love Sam and Alex's story Suddenly Royal for a feel good read when I need to read something to make me happy. When I heard that Alex's sister Cathy was getting her own story in Recklessly Royal, it immediately went on my TBR list.Cathy has lived in the spotlight her whole life, and lately she feels like she is living as 2 different people. First, there is Princess Catherine, the reserved public face she presents most of the time and the person who needs to be conscious of how every action and word can be interpreted. Then there is just Cathy, the woman who used to love to let loose, have fun dancing, loves to watch zombie movies, and is losing hope that she will ever find someone to love the real person she is. Those feelings are only amplified as she puts the finishing touches on planning the wedding of her brother and best friend.Enter Sam's American friend David who was introduced as Sam's fellow grad student in the wildlife program in Suddenly Royal. Cathy can finally let herself relax for Sam's bachelorette party which leads to a REALLY funny first meeting with David. He is a gorgeous dark haired dark eyed outdoorsy type who immediately catches Cathy's attention like no one else has.Their story is sweet and slow building as they navigate through the pitfalls of getting to know each other in and out of the public eye with paparazzi hounding them and an unfamiliar personal assistant after a scary event sidelines Cathy's most trusted adviser. For all her worldly experience as a princess, Cathy is still very inexperienced in other ways. David offsets her very nicely and was a willing participant in her education so to speak. ;-) Alex and middle sibling Max have a little brotherly fun with David, particularly since David enjoyed giving Alex a bit of a hard time about Sam when they first met.I love that we get more Sam and Alex in this story and Recklessly Royal has a lovely epilogue including a little tidbit about them that Suddenly Royal fans won't want to miss. Overall Recklessly Royal was a lovely follow up to Suddenly Royal and I am looking forward to the final book Reluctantly Royal which will be Max's story tentatively due out in August.

I just absolutely love this series. Even though this is only the second book, they just seem to get better and better. I love a princess book, you definitely can say my inner child comes out when I read a book like this. Yes its a little bit more on the steamier side of things but still, its a fairy tale romance you watch unfold before your eyes.In the second book, Recklessly Royal, this book is told in Princess Catherine's POV (Alex's sister, Alex & Samantha's story was book one, Suddenly Royal) Yes you can probably read them as a stand alone, but you would be missing out on some pretty great stuff from book one. I adore Cathy as she likes to be called, she is sweet, sincere and cautious, in which you have to be when you are in the lime light as a royal family. She breaks my heart too, she is a good person through and through. She shines through out this book and I am a huge fan of all the characters I have meet so far. I haven't read a book lately that I just enjoyed everyone, well not everyone in this case, I would like to throat punch Tabitha, but I will let you read the book and I am sure you will feel the same as I do.We meet David in book one, he is the best friend/brotherly like figure in Samantha's life. I really liked David in book one and was beyond thrilled when I was reading and found out he was the potential love interest in this book. He is a southern sexy man on a stick, one of my favorite scenes is when they were having the Bachelorette party and he walks in and Cathy thinks he is a stripper... I believe a few words used were... "Take it off..." I will leave it there... The deeper I read the more I loved. The story of these two beautiful souls coming together was, magic. They complimented each other in everyway. David truly gave Cathy the fairy tale romance she deserved. He was also her protector and confidante, these two made me melt!!!Nichole is an amazing writer and although these are the only two books I have read of hers so far, I can't wait to read more from her. She is so talented. I do not talk about a book I do not like and I have been talking about this series since book one came out. It is a breath of fresh air and a fun exciting romance. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did. Now... I wait... for Book Three...

Book Review- Recklessly Royal by Nichole ChaseSam and Alex are headed to the altar and Princess Catherine has been helping with the plans. She adores her sister-in-law to be and couldn’t be happier with Alex’s choice. The couple is extremely happy together and Sam is a breath of fresh air in Cathy’s life. Cathy is a bit envious, however, knowing she probably won’t have the same in her life. It is difficult to find someone who sees the real person instead of the crown. Sam is a one of a kind girl and Cathy isn’t optimistic that there is a man out there for her. When David arrives early to help Sam out with her bird sanctuary while she is on her honeymoon, he had no idea he would be mistaken for a stripper by a tipsy princess. He instantly grins and starts unbuttoning his shirt.Cathy is mortified when she figures out who he really is, but decides he might be what she needs right now. He is drool worthy and a one night stand is what she has decided is best. Unfortunately when her emotions get the best of her and the paparazzi try to get in the way, things get complicated quickly. Cathy is afraid she will scare David away with the reality of her life. This is the second book in the series and it revisits the royal family. In the first book Samantha became a whirlwind that set the royal family on its ear. In this book Princess Catherine is coming into her own and going after what she wants, finally.David is a strong character who isn’t afraid of a little, stressful royalty. They are a great pairing. The author created excellent chemistry and a sigh worthy partnership between the two. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Recklessly Royal is a feel good, adorably cute romance. From start to finish, you just fall in love with Chase's characters.
