Stick Dog Chases a Pizza Audiobook Summary

Perfect for fans of Big Nate, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and the previous Stick Dog books, Tom Watson’s hilarious series continues, and Stick Dog and his friends are on a funny quest for pizza!

In the follow-up to Stick Dog and Stick Dog Wants a Hot Dog, Stick Dog returns with the same crazy crew. This time these canine friends have discovered a newfangled flavor–and it’s even more delicious than hamburgers and hot dogs. It’s pizza! They won’t be satisfied until they get some slices of their own.

But it won’t be that easy. There’s a kitten to rescue, a plan to make, and the messiest–and most dangerous–game of catch they’ve ever played. Pizza is on the menu, but only if their mission succeeds.

With hilarious text and stick-figure drawings, reluctant readers will eat this one up!

Other favorites in the series include Stick Dog Dreams of Ice Cream, Stick Dog Crashes a Party, and many more!

Stick Dog Chases a Pizza Audiobook Narrator

Andrew Eiden is the narrator of Stick Dog Chases a Pizza audiobook that was written by Tom Watson

Tom Watson lives in Chicago with his wife, daughter, and son. He also has a dog, as you could probably guess. The dog is a Labrador-Newfoundland mix. Tom says he looks like a Labrador with a bad perm. He wanted to name the dog “Put Your Shirt On” (please don’t ask why), but he was outvoted by his family. The dog’s name is Shadow. Early in his career Tom worked in politics, including a stint as the chief speechwriter for the governor of Ohio. This experience helped him develop the unique, storytelling narrative style of the Stick Dog books. More important, Tom’s time in politics made him realize a very important thing: Kids are way smarter than adults. And it’s a lot more fun and rewarding to write stories for them than to write speeches for grown-ups.

The story “Stick Dog Chases A Pizza” by Tom Watson is about when Stick Dog and his friends want to play frisbee, when they realize they need a disk to play. Stick Dog and his stray dog friends a Dalmatian named Stripes, a Dachshund named Karen, a mutt named Mutt, and a Poodle named Poo-Poo search for one in a park. Stick Dog and his friends find a box with a delicious pizza inside. They eat the pizza and want to find more. They go on an epic quest to get the tasty meal. On the way, they get interrupted by a cat distracting the nice dogs, the plans to get the pizzas are below par, and and epic game of catch. Stick Dog’s friends are not very good at coming up with strategies to get the food. Using teamwork, patience, and skill, will Stick Dog guide them to get the pizzas? The genre of the book “Stick Dog Chases A Pizza” by Tom Watson can be classified as fiction, adventure, fantasy. There is a multitude of books in the Stick Dog series. This book isn't that long, about 200 pages. It's a quick and easy read, geared toward younger children. I like this book, because of the way the doggys try to receive the food. It can hold the attention for me, which is rare because of my low attention span. Meaning that it would hold the attention of a younger audience. There is a lot of action and humor for people of all ages. The words are easily understandable and read, so that readers won't get lost throughout the amazing quest the dog's experience. I liked that it had a good plot, but I found the second half of the book two close to the last book. The thing I disliked about the story was that this book has pretty much the same plot as the two other books, but just with a new coat of paint. They followed the rules of story making and the quest was packed with a couple of ok characters that will probably will only be mentioned once. For example, in the book before this one there was a raccoon that almost stopped them from get the hot dogs. There was really a lot of style to this writing and this book is told in third person omniscient as seen from all the characters perspectives, and knowing everything. My favorite character in this the book was still Stick Dog. Stick Dog is the main character in the book series. Stick Dog is a dog with a brain when he is in a group of people who usually don't listen and have not so great ideas. When he goes on a quest with his companions, he goes out of his way to help of his companions learn to stop being stupid. He learns that humans are ignorant, and can be used to get more food. “They all began licking the cardboard” is my favorite line from the book, because it is an example of how dumb the dogs are. The fact that they are that dumb made me laugh for about 3 seconds. I can relate to Poo-Poo, because both him and I are quite dumb. I believe that this dog book is worth reading if you enjoyed the first one plot and characters.

The book "stick dog chases a pizza" had many points of view. Over all it was a good book and the multiple point of views help with the understanding of the poem a lot. I liked to see all these point of views because it gives you a good understanding of whats going on. So they story is about stick dog and his friends wanting this "saucer" or a pizza (thinking its a frisbee). But they go through all this trouble to get it. Stick dog is the main one trying to guide and more so the "leader" of the pack. From his point of view the "saucer" or pizza would be a fun toy because him and his friends were bored. Once they get it they wonder what to do now that they have thrown it around. At stick dogs point of view he wants to keep playing with it. But some of the other dogs notice it has a delightful smell and want to eat it. So its good to see who wants what and their though process of what they should do. Meaning some of the characters have seen it and know its food and others don't have a clue and only know what from seeing it fly. This effects the text because it leads to then what the ending and theme of the book is. My point of view was on both of the "sides". They could've played with it and then ate it. So I'm with most of the characters side. This is how the point of view of this book can help readers understand and comprehend the book.

Stick Dog and his goofy buddies discover an empty pizza box. The crumbs and splotches are so good, they have to find some more. This is my favorite one yet in this hilarious children's series. Stick Dog and friends try to make plans to steal pizza, and the plan they eventually do go with comes with a surprise. My seven year old son loves these books.
