The Best Halloween Ever Audiobook Summary
The Herdmans plus Halloween have always spelled disaster. Every year, these six kids — the worst in the history of Woodrow Wilson School and possibly even the world — wreak havoc on the whole town. They steal candy, spray-paint kids, and take anything that’s not nailed down.
Now the mayor has had it. He’s decided to cancel Halloween. There won’t be any Herdmans to contend with this year, but there won’t be any candy, either. And what’s Halloween without candy? And without trick-or-treating? The Herdmans manage to turn the worst Halloween ever into the best Halloween ever in this uproarious sequel to The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

The theme of the book The Worst Holloween Ever is to say that there is always good in somebody. The Herdmans on Halloween have always created a disaster. Every Halloween, the Herdman kids steal candy, spray-paint other kids, and take everything that isn't nailed down. There are six Herdmans and the worst one is the youngest one, And this year the Mayor decides to cancel Halloween, because of the Herdmans. That means there'd be no Herdman trouble to contend with, but that also means no candy, no costumes, and no trick-or-treating, Wich is terrible. The main characters in this book is Charlie, the Herdmans, Beth, Mom, Dad, Allice, Boomer, Mayor, and Mr. Crabtree. My critique of the book is good. I think the book was funny. The writing is funny, and I really liked the diolauge. I would recomend this book to my friends because we all like funny books. If this book is part of a series I would read it, because I enjoyed reading it and its a quick read.

When I was in eighth(?) grade, a substitute teacher who didn’t want to teach math read us the first few chapters of Barbara Robinson’s book The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. I was probably the only person in the class who was glad she did. Many years later I stumbled upon the book again and finally found out how it ended. Much to my delight, there are at least two more books in the series. All revolve around the horrible Herdman children who despite being bad in most conventional senses of the word always seem to make things come out better by the end of the story. For me, these are nostalgia stories, although they’re actually written about a time a generation or two before my own childhood. But if you want a simple morality lesson that comes just slightly from the side, and you enjoy a few laughs along the way, you’ll like this series.

Finished on Halloween Night snuggled up on my bed.Oh man these Herdman books are just golden. I did not expect this twist. They were all so happy to not have the Herdman’s ruin their Halloween but then it ended with them making it actually the best because it was scary, surprises and a big bit of candy.. even if it was stale. So funny. Then loved the clapping for Imogene… haha. We thought this was great… some of her writing jumps around a lot as in we are at school then at home but over all such a fun and funny read.

My son came home from school raving about The Best School Year Ever, and wanted to read it together because of how much he was enjoying it. When I looked into it and found out that it was part of a trilogy he freaked out. I picked up all three so we could read them together. We have read them out of order but this was the second one we read. There are over 15 editions of this book and it is available in a number of languages. I had not heard of this series or the author until my son came home from school excited about this series. This is the third book in the Herdmans trilogy. The Herdmans are a family of unruly children that have a knack for getting in trouble and spoiling things. The description on the back of the book is:"The Herdmans plus Halloween have always spelled disaster. Every year these six kids -- the worst in the history of Woodrow Wilson School, and possibly even the world -- wreak havoc on the whole town. They steal candy, spray-paint kids, and take anything that's not nailed down. Now the mayor has had it. He's decided to cancel Halloween. The Herdmans manage to turn the worst Halloween ever into the best Halloween ever in this uproarious sequel to The Best Christmas Pageant Ever."It is a really fun read. It has a great surprise ending. Well worth the read.Read the review on my blog Book Reviews and More.
