The Brat was an excellent book and also a great personality for Murie to portray. Balan is a great hero for Murie to marry and come to love.

** spoiler alert ** I liked it. My favourite part is when misunderstandings don't drag. Actions that are easily misconstrued are resolved quickly and not dragged on for conflict's sake. The dragging on part seems to come easily in other books, which tend to be signs of a mediocre book. I'm glad this book subverts that. I also really liked the mystery of who was trying to kill Balan. It wasn't the part of who was the would be killer that I liked. It was the suspicion of whether it was the wife or the cousin that was the funny part because both really cared about Balan. One of the cute moments in the book was Balan describing Murie as a bit batty. She was sticking twigs on him for good luck. She comes across as crazy but he tolerates her superstitions because he loves her. The story revolves around Murie and Balan. Murie fended off would be suitors by acting like a spoiled brat. She cried at the drop of a hat and her reputation scared away suitors. A private conversation of her was overheard by Balan and Aldous. In it, she revealed that she was a normal person who deliberately appeared off putting to avert men who only wanted her for her connection to the king. This was good news to Aldous who thought that the path to her was clear. With her lack of suitors, he would be the only one to offer for her. He plotted to trick her and Balan, who overheard his schemes, sought to stop him. In his efforts, he ended up being the man of her dreams. Lauda came up with the superstition that Murie will see the man of her dreams after eating rotten meat. Balan followed Aldous when Aldous when to Murie's room. A scuffle ensued and it ended with Balan kissing Murie. She pursued him afterwards and they ended up married with the king's blessing. There was a slight hiccup when she discovered her dream wasn't a dream. She thought he tricked her to save his impoverished land. The conflict was solved when she overheard him explaining the situation to his friend. There was a series of conflict that revolves around the attempted murder of Balan. Murie ends up rescuing him many times. In the end, it was revealed to be the maid. The maid was seduced by Aldous' servant. She wanted Balan dead so Murie can marry Aldous and the maid will be close to her lover. The second part of the story was mostly that and Murie fitting in Balan's land. She brought in money and superstition. The book ended with the royal family paying a visit as they were close to Murie.

ROLLERCOASTER RIDEIts a funny, quirky but beautiful love story. She did it again. I didn't guess the culprit in this book either. I think that's because I'm always experiencing a myriad of emotions, much like a rollercoaster, ups, downs, being swirled about left and right. I was just to busy enjoyin
