Brady Talmadge works with horses, rehabilitating the injured or the emotionally traumatized ones. He's always on the road, living in his trailer with his dog and spent his whole life avoiding entanglements. He learned the hard way to never pick up hitchhikers so why did he stopped for her? Annie is not quite a runaway bride. She's a princess (of a fictional small European country) who ditched her bodyguards while attending a friend's wedding in Texas. Before her prearranged marriage in 6 weeks, Princess Annabella of Monesta is determined to lives like any Texan woman. With her temperamental Yorkshire Terrier at her side, she and Lady Astor are about to turn Brady's world upside down. This Roman Holiday Texas version romance was a joy to read. I love witnessing the hero working with horses and see his patience and gentleness. The story took a turn I didn't expected but I think it made it that much better.

The Cowboy and the Princess by Lori Wilde*ARC supplied by Publisher*Take Audrey Hepburn’s “Roman Holiday” and set it in modern times and then to really make it interesting add cowboys, a horse whisperer and red-hot lust. What really bothered me about this book is how I cried at the ending. I was literally sobbing during the scene when they are saying their good-byes. I mean how can we really expect a good resolution with a couple such as this? We are talking about a horse whisperer and the Princess of the second smallest country in the world! Moreover, she is engaged to marry the Prince of the smallest country in the world---one who happens to be much older than she is and then produce an heir! For the life of me, I could see no way this book could have had a resolution. As you can tell by now, this is a novel about a Princess that wants to experience what the world and life is like if she weren’t a …well…Princess. One rainy night as Brady Talmadge is fighting the elements towards his next job, a job that has him staying with very close friends, he notices someone hitchhiking. This someone is small, pale and soaked and against his better judgment and the rules he has set up for himself, he picks this person up. Soon he realizes that he has picked up more than he bargained for! And so the story begins. It is a slow paced but very interesting and well-written look at what cowboy life and the life in a small Texas town looks like to a sophisticated and quite naïve young lady. It is also a story about what happens to a relationship when full disclosure isn’t practiced on both of the couples part. It is wonderful seeing how the sparks fly, but that that Ms Wilde chooses to not allow the characters to get ahead of themselves, as it were. Ms Wilde writes romance that is hot in the fact that the main characters don’t always jump on each other before a relationship blossoms. So never fear, Ms Wilde does find a way to resolve the issue of the Princess and the Cowboy!Have the tissues ready and have yourself a good cry and a wonderful read.

A really fun book. Annie is on the run from her responsibilities as a princess. She just wants a chance to be normal for a little while before she gets stuck in the planned political marriage. She is standing in the rain, looking pretty pathetic when Brady stops to pick her up. He plans to just leave her at a nearby truck stop and continue on his way, but ends up taking her along. He breaks all his self-imposed rules when he picks Annie up and knows she's going to be trouble. He takes her along to Jubilee where he will be working with Joe Daniels' horse (The Cowboy Takes a Bride). Annie ends up getting a job with Mariah's wedding planning business and living in a cabin on the property. Annie and Brady's intense attraction only grows as they spend more time together. Annie has made it clear she's only around for a short time, and Brady is clear on his avoidance of commitment. They enjoy each other's company and pretty soon their physical relationship is getting pretty intense. I really liked both Brady and Annie. Brady is pretty much a loner and avoids commitment by staying on the road with his horse whisperer job. He knows Annie is hiding something when he picks her up, but he can't just leave her. Her mix of naivete and sophistication are intriguing to him. He takes her along to Jubilee and as the next few weeks pass he gets to know her. He finds himself quite content staying in Jubilee and doesn't feel the urge to move on like he usually does. Just as things are intensifying with Annie he gets hit with a surprise that changes his outlook and his way of life. I loved Annie too. She is so completely clueless when Brady picks her up that it is pretty funny. Her confusion about American slang is fun to watch, and I love seeing her trying to adapt to Texas life. Her references to the movie Roman Holiday are great (it's one of my favorite movies). She really likes her life in Jubilee and doesn't want to go back, even though she knows she will have to. She falls in love with Brady, but when her time is up she leaves to go home to her wedding. There is a surprising twist waiting for her that was just what was needed for her happy ending. The people of Jubilee are still wonderful characters and add a lot to the story. And I loved Brady and Annie's dogs, Trampus and Lady Astor. They have their own little romance going on.

reviewed on http://atastyread.blogspot.comThe Cowboy and the Princess had A LOT to live up to for me, after reading The Cowboy takes a Bride. Lori Wilde did not let me down. She writes smokin' hot, rangy cowboys, with fast moves and great hands, and I don't just mean when it comes to horses.Annie and Brady are quite the pair. The had me laughing out loud one minute with their sexy banter and tearing up a few pages later when my heart was being broken to pieces. From the second these two meet its chaos, but so much fun to watch it unfold. Annie, with her secrets about who she really is, and Brady with a few secrets of his own, but a pure white knight. All you have to do is read the scene when he meets Orchid for the first time, yeah, that completely solidified my whole-hearted love for him.If you fell in love with Joe, Mariah and the rest of the crazy, cutting bunch from The Cowboy takes a Bride, you will be happy to know that they all make an appearance within The Cowboy and the Princess, a little innocent meddling never hurt anyone.I highly recommend this book, as well as, the Cowboy takes a Bride. You can't go wrong with a few lonely, broken cowboys and the feisty women who won't leave them alone.

Brady, doesn't like to be tied down, so he travels from town to town, healing horses. Brady just wants to feel freedom and not have to stick in one place. While heading to Jubilee, to do work for a friend, he sees a hitchhiker, he tells himself he will not bring one of his main rules, but when he sees its a woman, cold and wet with eyes that sear him...he is lost. Princess Annabella, has run away to have a few weeks of freedom before she is put in her prison of a marriage. All of her life she has craved freedom and do what she wants. She has no choice over the man she will marry, but she has a choice to live her dream even if for a little while. When she meets Brady, who rescues her, she is intrigued with his "lone wolf" personality. He seems just perfect for what she needs, but as they spend more time together, and a passion erupts, what is temporary, could turn into losing their hearts to one another...but will the secrets that both Brady and Annie are keeping tear them apart or tie them closer together? The Cowboy and the Princess is the second installment in this series. I have recently come to love this author, and I am really falling in love with this series. I love my sexy cowboys...and Brady fits the bill in my book. This story is so what I needed...full of laughter, tender passion, and a sweet love story to curl your toes. I could hardly put this one down....the theme of this story is up my ally, and the conflict is so entrenched in the story, you can't keep but be involved in the story. The story begins with Annie trying to hitch hike...and then meets a reluctant cowboy who takes her to have a bowl of chili, trying to hide from her bodyguards, she kisses him in front of everyone, and Brady is lost and he knows it. Brady is the type of hero that will resist anything that will have him settle down...especially gorgeous women who are damsels in distress. Brady I fell in love with, I love the way we see a portion of his thoughts in the book, and he argues with himself and its quite humorous and adds a delightful flavor to the story. I loved Annabelle, she is very unique, and far different from other heroines that this author has written. She is a princess, and doesn't understand certain "common sense" and its make for a fun spin to the style of the story. Even though I am not a huge fan of dogs in real life, I adore seeing them in books....and these two dogs in this story were charming and fun, and it was quite a ball of delight to see how they fit into the plot and the unique relationship with Brady and Annie.Overall a tasty western romance to make you want to yell "Yee Haw" at the end. Sexy cowboys, naive and sheltered royal, dogs to give you a head spin, and a story to keep you guessing and captivated till the end....gives a whopper of a surprise that will give you thrills from head to toes!!! SATISFYINGLY SWEET AND CHARMING!!

Reviewed on: http://readyourwrites.blogspot.comThe Princess and the Cowboy is the second book in the Jubilee, Texas series. However, it isn't necessary for you to have read the first book. These two books can stand alone.Brady Talmadge is a cowboy with a dark past contributing to his five unbreakable rules. At the age of fifteen, Brady ran away from an abusive home and ended up being taken in by Dutch Callahan of Jubilee, Texas. Dutch taught Brady how to take care of horses. Over the course of fourteen years, Brady became so good he became known as "The Horse Whisperer", for his ability to heal and rehabilitate injured horses.Princess Annabella (Annie) is a twenty four year old princess scheduled to be married off to Prince Theodore of Dubinstein, a man she does not love, but feels it is her royal duty to. Throughout Annie's entire life, she has lived a very quiet, extremely closed off, sheltered life behind the walls of Farrington Palace. With her marriage fast approaching, Annie and her friend, Echo, come up with a plan to get Annie her six week adventure of a lifetime, before she settles down.Every girl dreams of being a princess, when they're young. This story is what happens when the princess just wants to be an ordinary girl, loved and cared for simply because she is herself and NOT a princess. What would you do, if you were offered everything you didn't even know you wanted? Would your life still be a fairy tale come true? With The Cowboy and the Princess, you will find out.One of my favorite quotes from the book is, "Everyone is scared. Bravery is being scared and doing what you have to do anyway." This book is full of surprises. Just when you think you have things figured out, think again. The Cowboy and the Princess is funny and tear jerking at the same time. I will admit this review was hard for me to write, without giving away spoilers. I really enjoyed this book. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series A Cowboy for Christmas and going back to read the first book, The Cowboy Takes a Bride. I received this book from the author, with the hopes that I would read and post a review.

The Cowboy and the Princess is a book that grows on you until you can’t put it down. This delightful mix of The Horse Whisperer and Roman Holiday make for a fun, small town cowboy story.Princess Annabella of Monesta has 6 weeks until she weds a balding, playboy prince who she is betrothed to. She and her dog Lady Astor escape the life of luxury and are rescued by a cowboy named Brady Talmadge and his dog. He ends up buying her chili at a truck stop and then taking them with him to Jubilee, TX where he has a job to work with a horse that was injured. Annie (Princess Annabella) soon settles in and gets her own place and a job in town. She and Brady slowly fall for each other but the secret she is keeping comes in between them. This sweet, lighthearted read has a twist at the end that I was not expecting. The romance was a bit slow paced but I fell in love with characters and their dogs! The Cowboy and the Princess is the second in the Jubilee, Texas series. I have not read the first in the series but I never felt that I was missing anything. This is a great standalone book and I recommended it to anyone who loves a cowboy romance!

This book was not as good as the first in this 3-book series. Annie and Brady had a not-so-believable series of events. I was at a loss how they could find their HEA....
