The Immortal Who Loved Me Audiobook Summary

A few hours ago, Sherry Carne would have sworn that vampires didn’t exist. That’s before rogue immortals rampage through her store, leaving bloody chaos (literally) in their wake. The kicker comes when Sherry learns that one of the vamps on the bad guys’ trail may be her life mate. Her head says it’s impossible. The rest of her takes one look at Basileios Argeneau and has much more interesting ideas.

Whatever Basil expected in a life mate, funny, outspoken Sherry isn’t it. But mind-blowing chemistry and instinct don’t lie. They tell him something else, too–that Sherry’s connection to the immortal world goes deeper than she knows. And that she’s in the kind of danger only Basil can save her from–if she’ll just trust him, now and forever . . .

I was given a ARC copy in exchange for a honest review, thanks to Avon Books and Edelweiss for the opportunity. Sherry Carne, never imagined that she would be drawn into a world of danger, suspense, mystery and vampires. She is busy working on her taxes, when a teen girl burst into her office, with vampires after her, and they make a run for and barely make it out of there alive. She then meets a man she will learn is her life mate, Basil Argeneau. Basil has lived for centuries, and lived when they first lived in Atlantis. Has had many children, and already had one life mate. But that was eons ago, and feels more alone than ever. He keeps busy with keeping their kind supported financially, being a member of the council, and bugging his brother Lucian. He definitely keeps himself entertained, but always goes home alone. When he is asked to guard Sherry, he finds that he can’t read her, and with other signs, he knows that she is his life mate. A woman with wit and humor, that is driven and not afraid to speak her mind. As they discover each other, and the danger circling them, there is a secret from Sherry’s past that could hinder everything. The Immortal Who Loved Me is the 21st installment of the series. And my, I can’t believe how this series has grown. I remember when the first book came out, and Sands introduced me to vampire romance (yes before Twilight came to being), and I fell in love. Her writing is still just as phenomenal as it was back then. It is always fun to see those earlier couples take a role in the later books. And my favorite couple, Lucian and Leigh, definitely take a major role. Which I loved, and with the hero being Lucian’s brother, who definitely see that brotherly affection, and some horrible yet entertaining teasing (but Lucian so deserves it.). Well this story was quite a fun ride, and I had such an enjoyable time with this one. Now it wasn’t as good as some of the other books of the series, but I really liked seeing more of the teenage girl Samantha, and we see the old villain Leo. He still isn’t dead yet. The characters were so good for each other, and I loved this pair. Well I have loved every pair of this series. However, I found Sherry and Basil a bit more unique. One being with how old Basil is, he is one of the oldest of their kind, and has waited hundreds of years for a life mate. And there were some twists to his character that I didn’t see coming. I won’t reveal them, but trust me; you will love him even more. Quite a hoot when Sherry learns of them though. Sherry is a heroine you can love. She is strong willed, passionate, and a fighter. I loved her spirit and her humor. This story is a fun vampire romance, with all the humor and wit you can expect from Lynsay Sands, enough adventure and intrigue to keep you at the edge of your seat, and the writing so engaging you wonder where all the time has gone while reading. Guaranteed that you get lost in this story and fully involved in this story of romance, passion and suspense. PAGE TURNER!!

A lovely romance that was both sweet and sexy, The Immortal Who Loved Me was a fantastic read. It was a great book from an author that never disappoints and I really liked it.Sherry was a great heroine. She was calm in the face of chaos and more resilient than she gave herself credit for. I thought she was lovely.Basil was wonderful. He was a sweet, kind man who was very devoted to his loved ones, whether it was his children, brothers, or life mate. He was likable as well. The romance was both sweet and steamy. Sherry and Basil obviously cared about each other right from the start. Not to mention that super hot chemistry between them. Definitely turned up the heat. I thought they were a lovely couple. The plot was fast paced and I was hooked the entire way through. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was lovely. The Immortal Who Loved Me was a wonderful paranormal romance that I really liked. Romance loves, this is a book worth checking out.*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review

Sherry Carne was just sitting, doing her taxes when a young immortal comes crashing into her office bring a wake of trouble behind her. Lets face it, things like that don't happen every day. But Sherry handles it like a pro. She faces danger, even if the girl is a little off her rocker, talking about her being a life mate to some Basil guy.Basil is one of the eldest immortals who have lived without a mate. He's taking it slow with Sherry but she is having some major internal turmoil over trusting her heart when something magical out the realm of normal is behind it. Best thing about her internal turmoil, every one of the immortals except Basil can hear her thoughts. The Immortal Who Loved Me is a lively, lighthearted and captivating book. Sands perfectly combines humor, heart and seriousness to illicit a broad spectrum of emotions and character connections. Not your typical vampire story, with this fun and exciting cast of Atlantean survivors and decendents, you can't help but find yourself absorbed in their story...especially this unique coupling of an ancient, Basil, and a modern woman, Sherry.I received this ARC copy of The Immortal Who Loved Me from Avon in exchange for a honest review. I love the humor and banter that Lynsay always writes into her novels. Lynsay’s writing style always cracks me up and I can never get enough of her Argeneau series, it’s definitely one of my favorite vampire series! Great Job Lynsay, as always, I just can’t wait for the next Argeneau novel.

I have loved Lynsay Sands' Argeneau vampire series books since I read the first one. They are a light read, full of humor and romance. I got an advanced reader ebook of this in exchange for a fair review (the book doesn't come out until February). I was wondering if I was going to be tired of the same old "nanos pick the life-mates" thing, but this one had both main characters being told they were life-mates upon meeting instead of being "accidentally" thrown together, and I found I enjoyed Basil (who I don't remember too much about) and Sherry's story, and also learning more about one of the other character's abilities. It continues the series' storylines regarding the Rogue Hunters and Leo, but I don't know where she is going to go from here. I would recommend pre-ordering The Immortal Who Loved Me if you enjoy this series.

I love Lynsay Sands spin on the "vampire" genre. Instead of the typical vampires she instead writes about immortals who have come from the fallen Atlantis. It's different and refreshing. (view spoiler)[ In this book Sherry tries to help teenage Stephanie get away from Leo and his son's. She meets the Argeneau family and learns that her life mate is Basil Argeneau. She takes this surprisingly well and the immortals learn that she has had an immortal in her life for a long time. She learns that the immortal is her father, and he has been in her life under the guise of 3 men: her uncle Al, her best friend Lex, and her employee Zander. I loved the play on words here since her father is Alexander. Sherry decides to be turned immortal and Leo is finally killed by his mother. I hope this is not the last book in the series. Revisit old friends and meet new ones. I adore this series and always anxiously await the next installment. In this episode we meet Sherry Carne kitchenware supply store owner and according to Stephanie and Marguerite Basil’s life mate. Watching the two come together all the while dodging Leo and trying to unravel the other secrets in Sherry’s past is another fine romp. Lynsay Sands makes me laugh and fall in love with each of her characters.

Basil and Sherry Enjoyed the book and recommend it!!! Sherry tried to help out the youngster Stephanie when she was being chased by evil vampires. Stephanie knew that Sherry was Lifemates to Basileios (Basil) and was thankful for what Sherry did she introduced them. Basil had waited centuries for a Lifemate and was not prepared for Sherry but after saving her and getting to know her, Basil decided Sherry was the ONE. Sherry not knowing about Immortals was not sure about meeting someone new but still was willing. Now all they have to do is find out who the Immortal is that Sherry has in her life. There is more but you have to read it to find out!!!

Great but different writing style now than in previous booksContains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some with violence (fighting, death / murder, kidnapping)Still a great addition to the Argeneau vampire series, but the writing style is much different than the earlier books in the series. This story could be considered a sweet and clean romance if not for the violence. I can only assume that was the one change the author couldn’t make regardless of current / new beliefs. I still love reading from something from this series as it is like visiting with old friends, since the series’ universe is so well developed.

"The Immortal Who Loved Me" is the story of Sherry and Basileios. This book has a lot going on on the background and it is less focused on the protagonists. There is nice plot-twist and also an end comes to Leo's story. My favorite moments are the ones featuring Lucian! He is still my favorite grumpy immortal!P.S.: The cover for the Gollancz's Edition is just awesome! Justice with a bloody scale... perfect reference to Basileios being a layer!
