Vampire Kisses 4: Dance with a Vampire Audiobook Summary

There’s a new vampire in town. His name is Valentine Maxwell. Goth-girl Raven knows this latest intruder can only mean trouble–he’s the younger sibling of two vampires she fought to drive out of Dullsville. But when her brother, Billy, befriends this dangerous tween night prowler, the stakes are suddenly higher. Though torn by the excitement of every teen girl’s fantasy–attending the prom with her boyfriend–Raven must do everything she can to protect Billy.

Valentine’s appearance may pose even further threats. Could he somehow know Raven’s innermost feelings about becoming immortal for her true love, Alexander? The far-from-ordinary romance of these two teen outsiders takes another surprise-filled spin in the fourth book of Ellen Schreiber’s applauded Vampire Kisses series.

This is one of my fave throwbacks to my teen years - Ellen Schreiber and her Vampire Kisses series. To say I was obsessed with this series is an absolute understatement. Recently, I picked this book up again and decided to throw myself into this series, and I still love it!This series is full of cute-sy YA romance with Alexander and Raven. The book is written for a younger audience, but if you're like me and love sinking away into a fantastical world then it will be no issue to you. If you're expecting a "True Blood-esque" novel, then you've come to the wrong place. The fourth book in this series, Dance with a Vampire, continues Alexander and Raven's epic love story. Except, this time around we've got more crazy antics that the pair have to deal with. Valentine is now up to her trouble, making it seem impossible for our love birds to have a happy ending. A note for the reader: These books are relatively short, which makes them a fun, sweet, and smooth read. It's really easy to binge all of these books in a day if you have the nerve to. I read the first four books (back in the day) on a bus ride to a school swim meet. I re-read these books many times because of how short and fun they were. So, it's not a big time commitment if you read these babies one by one.Final note: The manga version of this series was one of the first mangas I ever read and made me fall in love with that "genre" (is genre the right word? Probably not). The pictures were beautiful, the story was magical and I'm glad it got me so into reading! Thank you Ellen for being one of my early reading addictions. Hopefully I'll find some more newer books by her soon! Her writing just vibes well with my reading style.I'd highly recommend these books. They are on the younger side of YA, but they are funny, sassy and absolutely adorable. My biggest con for this whole series was that it ended! I loved each book and I really want more by this author. So many YA novels take themselves way to seriously and try to make the teen be an adult. This series makes Raven be a fun, young girl who makes mistakes along the way (but she somehow gets an epic romance out of it).Five out of five stars!

(Review for Books 1-8)I decided to review all eight of these books together, as I pretty much read them all back to back and I don't think I would be able to go back and review them all individually.Firstly, this is a series that I had known about for a while, but wasn't really too sure what the boo

This review can also be found at http://fortheloveofbooksreviews.blogs... In this continuation of Raven and Alexander's story, Valentine Maxwell, Jagger's younger brother, has arrived in Dullsville and appears to be targeting Raven's brother. Raven fears that this might be some sort of revenge plot because of the issues that she, Alexander, and Valentine's siblings dealt with in the past, so with Alexander's help, she tries to uncover what's going on. At the same time, Raven is having doubts and worries about her dream of becoming a vampire. She wants to be with Alexander and she knows that he loves her just as much as she loves him, so when Valentine threatens to tell her vampire lover about her secret worries, she fears that her relationship with him might become more complicated, or that it might not even survive at all. The Vampire Kisses series is such an enjoyable series. The books are perfect for when you want a short read after tackling a long, complex book or if you're trying to ease yourself from a reading slump. While the writing style might be a bit simpler than in other young adult books, it's still a great read for fans of vampire love stories. Even at the fourth volume in this series, Raven is still the funny, quirky, unique character that was introduced to readers in the first book. She is so, so likeable, and I find her sense of style, her hopes and dreams, and her love for vampires endearing. She actually reminds me a lot of myself. It's nice to have goths or alternative individuals within fiction that aren't the personification of the gloom-and-doom stereotype. Alexander remains the somewhat cliche, swoon-worthy, gothic vampire, love interest that Raven fell for in the first book. I find him just as endearing as Raven, with his romantic gestures and dark style. However, I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with his character in this novel. I was considering Raven's fear that Alexander would, for whatever reason, reject her when she admitted her worries about becoming a vampire. This made me wonder what might be going on in their relationship, if he might not be as sweet as the author shows us on the page. I mean, I think most people would make sure that their partners don't think they might leave them over legitimate fears concerning becoming what is basically a whole other, paranormal or supernatural, species? It seems like common sense, and Alexander must have failed Raven in some way if she was worrying over this so much. This book ended with a rather sad cliffhanger, though not a hopeless one. I'm glad that I own the next book so that I can read about what happens next sooner rather than later! This is a series that I like to come back to, it's one that I think I'll read until it ends. Overall, a very enjoyable book. While it raises somewhat frustrating questions concerning Raven and Alexander's relationship, I honestly think that these questions add some intrigue and a bit of suspense to the story. I recommend this series to fans of YA vampire romances. If you're looking for a short paranormal read, this series is for you.

QuestionsWhat's not to love about this series? Nothing!! Everything about it is amazing . I love this book and am glad when I first picked it up or I would have never been able to hear Alexander and Ravens story . This book struck me like lightning and not even the twilight books or even movies had me this crazy about a story . Ellen's story is such an amazing series and I don't even think she tried really hard to make it so interesting the way she writes the story is very swift I swear it's like the words just fall out from the pen and onto the paper . Ellen I don't know if you have realized it yet but writing about vampire mischief mystery and romance is your thing girl . I do hope you continue to write more books about vampires cause you know what you are doing . I have read all of your books then re-read them !!!!! And then again !!!!! You have made a big impression on me Ellen you know what you are doing and I can't help but wonder Ellen is the last book about them when she turns Into a vampire cause I know hundred of fans even millions that don't want it to end there she has not had her first bloody Mary !!! Or slept in a coffin yet as a vampire !!!!! We don't know if she is a nice vampire she has not turned into a bat !!!! Will she go back to the coffin club !!?!?!??! Will Trevor cry??? Will she like being a vampire after all? Ellen !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??! I have so many questions !!!!!!!!!!!! Will Alexander and raven have a vampire baby !!!!!!!!???? And if by chance they would is it a girl or boy???? What are they like ?? Will they get into trouble???!!!what will they name it ??!!??Will it have an extra power ??? Will some long lost Romanian enemy's of Alexander hear about him bonding for eternity and then having a baby and kidnap the baby and Alexander and raven go on a long hunt to fine the baby ?????? will stormy stick with nerd boy ? But I just have one question that could possibly answer all of my other ones , Ellen Schreiber Will You Write Another Book ????? You have left me mesmerized your writing skills are truly amazing Ellen I do hope you consider what I have said cause you have left me drowning in my own thoughts and questions .Sincerely - Everlie

If you haven’t seen my other reviews for the books in this series I am just going to say it again, I love this series! It isn’t always paradise dating a vampire and this is where problems start to arise for this cute goth couple. I don’t even know what number I am on for rereading but it still hurts to see the problems that are tearing them apart. *sigh*We do get to see Raven be more of a sister towards her brother which is a nice mix into the vampire madness. We can’t really blame her from wanting to protect him from the undead though! I know I’d do the same, ha.Trevor, the typical jock, is still around and even though he doesn’t have much to do with this plot he is still trying to ruin Raven one dance at a time. I do have a soft spot for him because I just love the banter between them. Alexander will still always be my number and who I root for though.Overall, it was as good as the first time and I’m still excited to continue my reread through the series.

I don't want to start any arguments, as everyone have their own opinion, I just wanted to say this was the best book in the series so far. If you don't include bitchy valentine, that is.To be fair, I suggest to read the first three books before reading this review for spoiler-free experience.Jagger and Luna left Dullsville and all is good, until their little brother, Valentine Maxwell, shows up with an unknown goal. While Raven and Alexander have ups and downs because of the little Nosferatu, the prom is coming up. And that's the reason why this book is called 'Dance with a Vampire'. You're welcome.Plot:The plot of this novel was more polished and entertaining than the last three books. Even though I feel the next books will be more action filled, I enjoyed even the little chapters with no actual meaning (yes, I liked the manicure chapter too. Revenge is best served... with black nailpolish!) Writing:The writing was light and humorous like in the previous books, but some dialogues you don't realize sometimes who is talking until you complete the entire conversation. Romance:Alright, finally, Raven and Alexander have actual problems in their goddamn relationship. They are finally showing signs of not-so-eternal love- Raven has a conflict of joining the dark underworld, while Alexander is craving for her blood and flesh. Finally! I though it would be lovey-dovey one hundred percent until the end!Black Lipstick- Raven:Raven was just a plot device and a comic relief in this novel. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. She also whines about another girl buying the dress she wanted to prom and everyone are like 'we'll do anything for our little Raven'. I'm happy that the rest of the plot made me forget it.And seriously, who sleeps with hungry vampires in a coffin?! Not so Gentleman- Alexander:Alexander was, once again as in the first book, swoon worthy. He actually was craving for blood all along! Now you're a true vampire, Alexander! But I do have to note that he still all hurt and shit because of the little stuff. The Missing and Missed- Jagger and Luna:I miss those two funky vampires! I really do hope they will come later in the series, or else. The not Amazing One- Valentine:Valentine wasn't a strong point in this book. Let just say he was swallow, even for a vampire. But I do love his cool-- oops, I almost said a spoiler! Almost killed by fans... Overall:The plot was honestly way better than previous books. I hope to read Coffin Club next month, even though it's right on the shelf.4.5 STARSLiked:-Alexander-Plot-PromDisliked:-Where are the Maxwell's?!-Raven-Valentine Review on my blog!:)

The story really picked up in this book 4 of the Vampire Kisses series. I am so addicted to the characters to everything that this series revolves around, I can not stop reading. I loved the Prom segment in this book, the dress Raven picks out, the diversion created in order to keep Vampire Alexander from having his pic taken. The author really gives such a unique spin to vampires, teen vamps, I just cant get enough. I love the sense of humor as well throughout all of the books so far.I am so in love with Alexander and I bite my nails every time I think he is going to have to leave the mortal Raven behind. I wonder when and if Raven will ever join Alexander in his dark world. Bravo to book 4!

Reviewed by Jennifer Rummel for TeensReadToo.comDANCE WITH A VAMPIRE continues the tale of Raven, the outcast, and her hottie boyfriend, Alexander. They have just defeated the two sibling vampires threatening both their town and their relationship. They're now ready to relax together when Valentine arrives. Valentine befriends Raven's younger brother, Billy, and suddenly she's very protective of her little brother. Valentine has the ability to read the innermost thoughts of someone's mind once he touches them. He knows that Raven's not ready to become a vampire. Ellen Schreiber writes another great tale in this saga -- so well that readers will want to sink their teeth into the VAMPIRE KISSES series.

This one was much better than the second and third books! Jagger and Luna have returned to Romania, or did they? You’ll find out once you read this book! Their younger brother is stirring up trouble in Dullsville. Raven now has to protect her brother, Billy. Just when Alexander and Raven thought they had a break Valentine enters into their lives. What adventures will Raven and Alexander have to go on just to protect her brother? Will Alexander and Raven’s relationship last. Once again, you’re just going to have to read this book. I highly recommend it!

This is the 4th book in the Vampire Kisses series and it continues the adventure with Raven, her vampire boyfriend Alexander and friends. In this book, there is another pale stranger running around town and he is much younger and has now befriended Raven's little brother. Lots of mystery, twists and turns, and even a Prom. I don't want to go into the story more as not to spoil it but I do recommend this book and series to all vampire lovers.

** spoiler alert ** This is the fourth book in the Vampire Kisses series. So far, it's as good as the rest. Alexander and Raven are trying to keep Raen's little brother Billy away from another vampire in the neighborhood named Valentine because they're not sure why Valentine is there. I think they'll find out why Valentine is there, then make Valentine leave.
