Wallflower Gone Wild Audiobook Summary

In the second in Maya Rodale’s delightful Wallflower series, London’s Least Likely to Cause a Scandal is taking Society by storm . . .

Being good has worked out very badly for Lady Olivia Archer. All she has to show for four seasons on the marriage mart is the nickname Prissy Missy. Her prospects are so bleak that her parents have betrothed her to a stranger with a dire reputation. If Phinneas Cole–aka The Mad Baron– wants a biddable bride, perhaps Olivia can frighten him off by breaking every ladylike rule.

Phinn has admired Olivia’s poise and refinement from afar . . . qualities that appear to have vanished now that they are officially engaged. This Olivia is flirtatious, provocative, and wickedly irresistible. She’s not at all the woman he bargained for, yet she’s the only one he wants.

He’s determined to woo her. She’s determined to resist. But Olivia is discovering there’s nothing so appealing as a fiance who’s mad, bad, and dangerously seductive . . .

Honest rating: 4 stars to 3.5 stars This one starts off kind of weird with Olivia meeting our hero, Phinn, at a ball and she walks up to him and makes a fool out of herself by commenting on his beautiful green eyes. Mean girls make fun out of her for actually being near a man and she runs off when she hears her mother is near. This book is also very funny and I found myself laughing a lot. It's heavy with sarcasm and similar to Tessa Dare writing. There is a mystery as to what happened to Phinn's wife and how she passed away. Throughout the book Olivia is working to solve the mystery and is in fear that she'll die if she were to go with the wedding. However, she can't explain why she feels so flustered around him and there are signs that the hero is actually a good person and not a bad one.Throughout the book she also tries to break off the engagement and tries to make herself the opposite of 'perfect' and 'prissy' which causes our hero to grow flustered over her unladylike behaviour. I also really like despite her being so strong in determining her own future, she still has vulnerabilities towards being a wallflower and how nobody asked her to go for a dance. Ever. So she felt undesirable and not beautiful.Phinn is an inventor and works with machinery alongside Blake, the duke in the first book. He's very calculative and knows that his lack of emotions may have caused his first wife's death. He knows that Olivia is scared of her so he wants to properly romance her and convince her that he's not a monster and can win her heart. I felt bad for Phinn a lot of the times because society has this horrible opinion of him and they often interrupted him when he wanted to romance Olivia. They go to a masquerade ball and she meets a man who saves her from some troubling circumstances. There she confesses that she hates Phinn and does not want to marry him. Little did she know...Anyways, Phinn is a sweet boy with a dark past and he should be protected. The ending fell a little flat but it was still adorable and super sweet.THE MOMS IN THIS SERIES ARE SO ANTI-FEMINIST AND PISS ME OFF SO BADLY. THEY ARE EVIL!!! EMOTIONALLY MANIPULATIVE!!

Recently decided to give a few authors I dismissed for having a "bad" book a second chance. In this case, at least, I'm glad I did. It was a fun and light read and I enjoyed every minute of it. Will definitely be checking out Prudence's story.Update: Maya Rodale reread!!

Olivia is known as "London's Least Likley" and is known for her poise and following the rules and never stepping out of line, and what has it gotten her, unwed after four season. One evening she meets a man who sizzles her senses just from one look across the ballroom, and she almost kisses him in public. Afterward, she learns her parents have betrothed her to the "Mad Baron", Phineas Cole. She has heard many rumors about this Mad Baron, about how he murdered his wife. Phinn has admired Olivia from afar and knows that her genteel manner is just what he is looking for in a wife. What he doesn't plan on is for scandal after scandal to occur after he decides to marry her. Phinn has no idea what he did to her, but then he learns that she believes the rumors about his late wife, which he didn't ever think it had been gone around as much as it apparently had. Phinn is out to seduce his future bride and show her he isn't the monster she thinks he is, that he can love just as passionately as she dreams of.Wallflower Gone Wild is the second installment in the Bad Boys and Wallflower series that is the most recent series done by Maya Rodale. I have enjoyed reading her others series and this is the first book I have been able to read from this series. I am a bit disappointed that I have yet to read the first book, especially after loving this title so much. There was so much emotion and drama played out in this story. I couldn't help but fall for this story. From the beginning I was fully engrossed in the story, the longest it took was just a couple of pages and I was hooked completely. Maya Rodale definitely knows how to deliver a charming love story and Wallflower Gone Wild is definitely a new favorite. In this story we see two people that need each other and are each taught a humbling lesson about Trust. Olivia I liked from the beginning, and I loved how she schemed to make Phinn want to leave her, but all of her work and trying to create one scandal after another only tends to do the opposite reaction, Phinn starts to become more intrigued with Olivia. Olivia fears for her future with Phinn, but there is something so gentle about the way Phinn treats her and the way he is so patient, Olivia starts to slowly change her opinion of him. Despite the dastardly rumors that are flying around, she starts to realize she will have to trust in her true feelings about him, and not what other gossips say about him. Phinn is a scientist and could care less about public opinion, until he meets Olivia. Now he must prove to her that he isn't dangerous or a killer. I also loved seeing the close bond that Olivia has with her fellow friends, and it only made me more intrigued with reading the first book, after seeing her friend and her husband together.Overall a charming romance that tied me up in knots (but in a very delightful way). Wallflower Gone Wild is packed with romance, desire, engaging plot and characters to worm their way into your heart. A HEARTWARMING TALE!!

I really enjoyed this book. There were many times I actually laughed out loud from scenarios or things being said. I also really liked the hero Phinn. That being said the heroine, Olivia was obnoxious in how she treated Phinn for at least half of the book. I would still recommend this book and I’ve already picked up the first and third books of the series... since I accidentally read the second book first! Oops!

I really loved Phinn. He's a total nerd with no social skills, and very relatable. A fun story with Maya's usual humor, steam, and interesting characters. I do, however, never want to hear the phrase "Brendan - or Brandon" ever again.

Olivia Archer is entombed by her parents and their rules of behavior. four seasons later, unwed, she sees someone across the ballroom and is fixated, as is he. fast forward to a forced marriage with the mad baron, the same green eyed man of her dreams. the farce goes on far too long concerning the alleged murder of his wife, Olivia's fear of this man who wants her, the interfering friend always giving bad advice, [sic is he for Prudence?] and the scientific project which absorbs all of Phinn's time. The presence of her wallflower friends does give comfort that we are not on an island. It just took too much damn time for Olivia to recognize her passion, bringing her to an accident with the differential machine which injures her. the parent' scene was beyond villainous. and still Olivia has fears. finally the consummation of the marriage and Phinn telling her the real story cement their relationship. this was not a great book but it was entertaining. Over dramatic, over extended, Olivia should have given Phinn more benefit of doubt but the rumors of six years never died, only renewed. Olivia was depicted as a bird brain for her unrelieved fears despite Phinn's obvious intentions. This was not a book I would run after, but it did detract from Roger Stone's debacle of a trial and creeping kingship of trump, which is the only reason i read these. my intellect has been destroyed.

I totally loved book 1 in this series, so I was expecting a lot from this one. And it definitely didn't disappoint! Wallflower Gone Wild was a fantastic read. The romance was lovely, the story was fun, and it was a truly enjoyable read. Loved it!Olivia was a lovely heroine. She was a perfect lady who was sick of following the rules and decided to make her own. I have to say, it was entertaining watching her struggle to find those. She was really nice and sweet, but it would be a mistake to underestimate her willpower. My only problem with her was that she was quick to judge Phinn. She knew what it was like to face malicious gossip, which often had little base in truth, and she should have given him more of a chance to prove himself. It didn't match her otherwise forgiving and kind nature. Other than that, though, I really liked her.Phinn was a total sweetheart. He was a man more interested in science than society, but that led him to have...underdeveloped social skills. He had a knack for saying the wrong thing and didn't know the first thing about wooing a lady. It was so fun to see his floundering, yet adorable attempts to win Olivia. He was a truly good man and a nice guy, despite the gossip about him. He was so sweet and wonderful and I totally loved him. The romance was very sweet. Even with Olivia's wariness, their feelings for each other were always clear. They just didn't quite know what to do with them. I thought they were lovely together. The plot was fast paced and I was hooked the entire way through. The secrets of what really happened to Phinn's first wife kept me drawn in and took me by surprise. Thought I do wish there had been a little more done with them. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was adorable. I can't wait to read book 3 and see what happens to the last London's Least Likely.Wallflower Gone Wild was a fantastic historical romance. I loved this book! It was a sweet, truly enjoyable read. Romance lovers, this is a book you definitely need to read.*I received a free copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review

Wallflower Gone Wild was such a cute read! I adored the love interest Phinn and I really liked that he wasn’t a typical historical romance hero. I also enjoyed the humor in the novel that came about over a series of misunderstandings.I liked Olivia and I could emphasize with how hard she had it with her overbearing mother. There were a few times I wanted to reach through the book and slap Lady Archer over the ridiculous expectations she placed on her daughter. The way Olivia went about getting out of the marriage to the man her parents had chosen led to some hilarious over the top moments.Phinn was great. Although the rouges and rakes in historical romances are usually swoon-worthy, I liked that Phinn was a nice guy despite the gossip about him. He had a science nerd quality to him that made him oblivious about certain things, like how to win a woman. There was plenty of hilarity when he took (bad) romantic advice from his friend Lord Rogan. The romance is slow-building which I love in historical fiction. By the end, the heat began to build between Olivia and Phinn and I loved how they both learned to alter their perceptions of one another to make their relationship work. I’d recommend the Wallflower Gone Wild to fans of light and fluffy historical romances.Rating: 4.5/5 StarsThanks to the publisher for a copy of this novel for review!

Gw kesel banget sama mbaknya ampun deh, gak bisa menghargai perasaan masnya dan terlalu percaya sama rumor hahahaahhaa… Olivia Archer, die yg nulis pertunangan pura2nya Duke of Ashbrooke sama Lady Emma, idenya dari mbak nomer 3 taunya Prudence. Masalahnya besoknya Olivia dikasih kabar kl Mad Baron mau die jadi istrinya, padahal Olivia pgn ketemu sama lord bermata biru itu lagi. Kesel2 ke mama-papanya, pas Phinn dateng buat ketemu (Olivia ude mikir die jelek, tua dan gendut) Olivia rebel deh.. pake pemulas bibir dst (dandan lah ye tp dandan menor), pas sampe bawah kaget banget kl Lord bermata biru yg kemaren malem itu si Mad Baron. Bukanya seneng, Olivia tambah tatrum dong.. dia gak mau merit sama Phinn meski die laki2 yg diimpi2kan selama ini, di tambah Phinn ini suka nyeletuk2 garing gitu.. yg belakangan ternyata di ajarin sama Ronan. Olivia dibantu Prue, karena Emma mikir mustinya Olivia merit aja sama Phinn, toh Phinn baek.. kl dari Ashbrook kan, tp ya Emma ttp gak ngojok2in jg, Cuma pengen Olivia mikir2 aja dulu. Olivia jg bilang ke Phinn “gw kaga mau merit sama lo” trs si Phinn nya rada tertantang bilang “ya udeh, biking gw gak suka sama lo”, makanya Olivia minta bantuan temen2nya buat scandal. Prue yang emang gak mau liat Olivia gak bahagia, dan gak mau jg dateng ke ball tahunan sendiri blm nikah, ngebantuin Olivia deh, jadi dorong Olivia di deket Lord sapa gw lupa, trs masukin brandy ke lemonade nya Olivia yg bikin Olivia mabok dan jerit2 kl die kaga mau merit sama Phinn di ball dgn baju yg robek.. huff.. Panjang lah tarik ulurnya, tapi Phinn nya tetep sabar dan ortunya tetep kekeh kalau Olivia harus nikah sama Phinn, Nah pas satu waktu Phinn gak sengaja nguping pembicaraan Olivia dan Olivia bilang kalau Phinn gak ada bedanya sama ortunya, nyuruh2 die mulu tanpa nanya dulu die mau apa enggak, masalah nikah jg langsung ke ortunya bkn nanya die dulu, trs musti tinggal di estate die terus2an dan gak mau nanya dule ke Olivia dst. Phinn jadi merasa bersalah.. Setelah nikah, Phinn bilang ke Olivia kl die boleh mutusin mau ngapain terserah, mo tinggal di London jg gak papa toh Phin jg blm kerjaan kerjaan sama Ashbrook nya. Olivianya kaget dong, die pikir abis merit Phinn langsung ngajak ke estate trs die ditinggal gt di country.. tp taunya Phinn nya baek, masalahnya sekarang Phinn nya kaga mau boboin die, Olivianya jadi serba salah. Sampai abis barter omongan gt.. Olivia kekeh gak mau pulang.. trs pas ude rada sembuh mereka bobo bareng deh.. Akhirnya Phinn nya cerita, kalau Nadia dulu tu tunangan kakaknya George, pewarin Baron selanjutnya, trs si Olivia nanya apa Nadia naksir Phinn jg kr rumornya kan mereka rebutan wanita sampai George mati, jawaban Phinn enggak.. mana mungkin Nadia naksir Phinn yg geek dan demen dgn angka. Nah one day, Phinn liat Nadia bobo bareng sama temen mereka jg (namanya gw lupa) Phinn yg kesel bilang ke George, tp kakaknya malah bilang gak mungkin lagian die jg ude bobo sama Nadia, tp pas di datengin bener kan.. Nadia bobo sama orang laen, George kesel trs nantang duel gitu sama temen nya.. duel, George mati dan temennya pergi ke eropa lari. Nadia dateng ke Phinn nangis2 bilang kalau die hamil anak George, Phinn gak mungkin dong diem aja.. die jg gak mau anak kakaknya yg die sayangi tu dibesarkan orang laen atau diakui jd bastard, di nikahin deh Nadia. Taunya gak hamil.. tp pada saat ini Phinn ya ude gak punya pilihan laen kan.. mencoba sabar deh, Nadia demen tatrum kl apa maunya gak diturutin.. tatrumnya parah pula, terakhir tu die demand waktunya Phinn buat die doang, sementara Phinn lebih demen di warehouse dr pada sama Nadia. Berantem deh.. Nadia yg kesel pergi ke warehousenya Phinn dan mecoba membakar warehousenya, sayanganya Nadia ketiban different engine itu dan ikut kebakar. Jadi Phinn pas awal ditanya Olivia apa bener die bunuh istrinya, Phinn bilang die gak bunuh tp die ttp bersalah. HEA lah………….. (hide spoiler)]Tinggal buku 3 ni.. Prue keknya something wrong with her.. keknya awal season tu die di rape deh… tp gw blm mulai baca sih XD
