These books are written terribly but they've actually got pretty developed characters and they basically made me fall in love with reading in third grade or whatever? so. four stars.I actually want to talk about why these stupid books made me fall in love with reading, because they truly influenced me so much. I think the best thing about this series is the developed character work. This is a series that has defined characters who you can root for or dislike, which is awesome. I actually think the characters improve throughout the series. In series one, Fireclaw is kind of a typical boring do-gooder. Brambleclaw, Leafpool, and Squirrelflight, the main characters in series two, are far more interesting and defined, with clear motivations beyond "do the right thing." This trend continues in series three and four. I also really appreciate the occasional morally grey or morally black characters. Yes, many characters are a bit "I do good things and I'm amazing!!" but characters like Ivypool, in the fourth series, were so influential to my childhood. Yeah, the plot is a little weird and far-fetched, and the writing is pretty terrible now that I've grown up enough to see it, but this series is definitely good for anyone who likes middle grade fiction. Especially kids. This is definitely a series I'd give to all elementary schoolers.

Guess what peeps?? ;)This was my first YA series that I read!!!Yah, yah, maybe it was something else but my poor memory remembers this one as a CRAZY FRICKING AWESOME SERIES.So yes, I was a little tiny 5th grader who read in the back corner of the classroom who politely answered teacher's questions. But when this gorgeous thing came up in my face, I was like...0_0Wha??.............AND BAM.*FALLS DEAD IN LOVE IN THE BACK OF A 5TH GRADE CLASSROOM*This book has action, has great characters, and guess what??!!IT'S FROM A CAT'S POV.Yup, you animal lovers, come this way. ;)So yes, half the time, I was wondering if cats could actually talk or this entire time, I was reading pages full of "meows" and mistook them for actual words.........*sheepish smile*Yes, this book was brilliant, you'll love it, you'll die in the back of ur 5th grade classroom( or middle school, or couch, or whatevs), and here I am, recommending this to y'all!!!Hope ya like it! ;)

READERS GUIDE: HOW TO READ THE WARRIORS BOOKSThis isn't a review for the novel, but instead a guide of how to read the books. If you or your child are considering these books, please read this. There are multiple books and the order to read them in can be confusing. I have read many of the books multiple times and thought that I would create a reader's guide for how to read the Warriors books. This is not the only way to read the books, but the way that I personally believe to be the best. I am not looking to start a comment war on the best way to read the books. In the end, the way that you read them is your own decision. This is just my personal advice and how I suggest to anyone that asks that they read them. This list will be consistantly updated as I gain new information and as I read new books that have been released. Please keep an eye on the list as sometimes Super Editions get placed somewhere in the middle and not at the end of the list. I hope that this is helpful to someone.THE LIST1. Into the Wild2. Redtail's Debt (novella)- from the bind-up Path of a Warrior3. Fire and Ice4. Forest of Secrets5. Rising Storm6. Tigerclaw's Fury (novella)- from the bind-up Tales from the Clans7. A Dangerous Path8. Tallstar's Revenge (Super Edition) (The manga at the end of this book is spoilery up until this point. That's why this book is placed here. Can wait to read this one until after Sunset if you are enjoying The New Prophecy and don't want to break it up.)32. Twilight33. Sunset34. Code of the Clans (Field Guide)35. The Sight36. Graystripe's Adventure (Full Color Manga Bind-up)37. Secrets of the Clans (Field Guide)38. Dark River39. Cats of the Clans (Field Guide)40. Outcast41. Eclipse42. Long Shadows43. Sunrise44. Leafpool's Wish (novella)- from the bind-up Tales From the Clans45. The Fourth Apprentice46. Fading Echoes47. Battles of the Clans (Field Guide) (Read here or after Night Whispers if you'd rather. There are no spoilers if you read it here, but the "kittypets" being shown around the lake would have more realistically happened sometime during Night Whispers. However, as this is just a Field guide, I don't consider the kittypets cannon. It's just a plot device used to show us, the readers, information. This is obvious because the Clans would never act like this in "real life" towards strange cats. All the actual battles mentioned have already happened in Fading Echos or earlier.)48. Mistystar's Omen (novella)- from the bind-up The Untold Stories49. Night Whispers50. Sign of the Moon51. The Forgotten Warrior52. Hollyleaf's Story (novella)- from the bind-up The Untold Stories53. The Last Hope54. Dovewing's Silence (novella) -from the bind-up Tales of the Clans (see info for book #61)55. Ravenpaw's Farewell (novella)- from the bind-up Shadows of the Clans (Ravenpaw's Farewell takes place during Omen of the Stars, but it doesn't intertwine with the storyline in Omen of the Stars at all, so I placed it here after Omen of the Stars wrapped up.)56. Crowfeather's Trial (Super Edition) (Do NOT read the exclusive manga that is found at the end of the book here. While the book itself fits and makes the most sense at this point, the manga takes place in the future after certain events in AVOS and is annoyingly spoilery. Will update when I know the correct place to read the manga.)57. Bramblestar's Storm (Super Edition) (see info for book #60)58. The Sun Trail (Books 58-60 and 62-67 take place in the past, during the time when the clans first came to the forest and were forming. I put them this far down on the list because the Dawn of the Clans series was the fifth series to be published and I like to keep the main series in order. If this is a first time read through for you, I wouldn't recommend reading Dawn of the Clans and it's side books earlier than this point, but they can be read later and it still be fine if you would rather skip on to Hawkwing's Journey and come back to these books later. I would highly recommend though that you at the very least read the six main books in the Dawn of the Clans series at some point, whether now or later. They are such amazing books and I'd really hate for you to miss out on such an amazing storyline.)59. Thunder Rising60. The First Battle61. The Ultimate Guide (A more updated version of Cats of the Clans) (Talks about cats and gives spoilers from their lives for all the books listed above before this point, including the first few books from Dawn of the Clans.) (If you want to read this guide but don't want to read DoTC yet, I'd reccomend reading pages 1-159 and pages 190-208 after book #54 or book #57 on this list. Read pages 160-189 after reading books #58-#60 on this list. You can read the whole book right here in order if you are not waiting to read DoTC.)62. The Blazing Star63. A Forest Divided64. Path of the Stars65. Moth Flight's Vision (Super Edition)66. Thunderstar's Echo (novella)- from the bind-up Legends of the Clans67. Shadowstar's Life (novella)- from the bind-up Path of a Warrior68. The Apprentices Quest69. Hawkwing's Journey (Super Edition) (This book takes place over quite a long span of time, so when you read this book is a bit more flexible. Feel free to read this one before or after The Apprentice's Quest, Thunder and Shadow, or Shattered Sky. I've just chosen to place it here on my list.)70. Thunder and Shadow71. Shattered Sky72. Darkest Night73. Tigerheart's Shadow (Super Edition)74. River of Fire75. Tawnypelt's Clan (novella)- from the bind-up Path of a Warrior76. The Raging Storm77. Squirrelflight's Hope (Super Edition)78. I know this is a children's book but I absolutely loved it, though a fair amount of nostalgia may have gone into that decision. This is like Game of Thrones for children, but with cats! How could it get any better? Tigerclaw is the cat-version of Iago, and I'm in love.I started reading this series at the ripe age of 10, and while I don't think the never-ending cat on cat violence had any effect on me, that may be something to look into before you hand these books to your child. On a side note, I am a full-blown adult now and still had a love for this series. These were my first chapter books when I was learning how to read, and now they will be my first chapter books as I teach myself how to read french.

Lo amé, fue como leer a Jack London versión gatuna. Sí, es un libro para niños, pero tiene una narrativa muy salvaje y realista, cosa que me ha gustado mucho. Me encanta, y quiero seguir leyendo el resto de la saga ♥

This is my daughter Jess' review. Jess is 11.This review won the Ultimate Book Reviewer Award given by her school's Language Arts teacher. Do you ever wonder what your pet cat thinks about? Fantasy author Erin Hunter brings you this spine-tingling, action-packed, fantasy adventure novel about wild cats. Explore and experience the land from the eyes of Rusty, a common house cat that dreams about the forest and all its wonders. One fateful day, Rusty finds himself walking towards Thunderclan camp, a whole new world where wild cats fight as warriors under the warrior code. Medicine cats used their knowledge of herbs and cures to heal the wounded, and apprentices trained with their mentors to become full-fledged warriors. All this happens beneath the leader's rule, and that leader just happens to be Bluestar, the cat that Rusty met outside his house gates. Training to become a warrior of Thunderclan, Rusty now named Firepaw, must faced the dangers that lurk in his path to becoming a warrior. Once such danger is Tigerclaw, the fierce and ambitious mentor of Ravenpaw, his timid friend. With Redtail, the deputy dead, Tigerclaw claims that he saw Oakheart, the Riverclan deputy, kill him. Firepaw then proceeds to ask Ravenpaw, as he was the only cat that was there to witness the murder. Firepaw wants answers, but he know he cannot get them in Thunderclan camp, knowing that Tigerclaw will attempt to kill Ravenpaw to keep him silent. Graypaw, Firepaw's new best friend, accompanies him while escorting Ravenpaw to an abandoned barn on the moors. The characters are the reason I loved this novel. They were all described wonderfully, and each cat has different traits and personalities. They all look different too!! Fur colors range from an ordinary brown to a spectacular golden tabby fur. There are so many creative ideas put into this book, and one of them is the idea that wild cats live in big groups and depend on each other for survival. It's really, really hard to choose a favorite character out of this book, because there are so many cats to choose from. But if I really had to pick up one, I'd choose Graypaw. Who wouldn't love a stubborn, friendly gray kitty who likes to crack jokes? I also like that supportive, helpful attitude of his. He's not afraid to stand up for his friends, and he's always going to be right there next to you if you need help, though he can get a little carried away sometimes, I think he's generally a great friend to have.If fantasy and adventure novels catch your attention, then this is the book for you! It has very descriptive writing that puts images in your head, and the tension and emotions that the characters display might just give you goosebumps! To find out what happens next, you'll have to read the book!

It was a nice change of pace to go from books about world domination, destruction and lots of deaths and suffering to something much more relaxing and laid back. And though i admit it was a bit weird to read about clans of cats fighting, talking, having vision it was quite fun. Also being a big fan of Jack London in my younger days helped quite a bit.The story is nicely written, the pacing is also quite right and the story moves at a nice clip never being boring. So dig right and ignore the mousey aftertaste :P

** spoiler alert ** This is the first in the series, I didn't read it for a long time, and then I picked it up. It was so good, I just had to keep reading it. If you don't like cats fighting, or blood described, it doesn't necessarily mean you don't have to read it, there are plenty of other good parts in the book, especially where Graypaw, Ravenpaw and Rusty (known as Firepaw in the book) make friends of each other. A brutal part is where Oakheart dies, but the story gets all mixed up, and eventually, drives Ravenpaw out of the ThunerClan camp!Read on to find out more of this adventurous and mystery like book!
