Wicked Bite Audiobook Summary

In the newest Night Rebel novel, set in New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress world, beautiful, daring vampire Veritas risks all to protect Ian…

Some promises are meant to be broken…

Veritas spent most of her life as a vampire Law Guardian. Now, she’s about to break every rule by secretly hunting down the dark souls that were freed in order to save Ian. But the risks are high. For if she gets caught, she could lose her job. And catching the sinister creatures might cost Veritas her own life.

Some vows are forever…

Ian’s memories might be fragmented, but this master vampire isn’t about to be left behind by the woman who entranced him, bound herself to him, and then disappeared. So what if demons, other Law Guardians, and dangerous, otherworldly forces stand against them? Come hell or high water, Ian intends to remind Veritas of the burning passion between them, because she is the only person seared on his mind–and his soul…

Another fabulous read by the amazing Jeaniene frost!!! I love her vampires! And Ian has been a fan favorite of mine from the beginning!! You can't help love this snarky, charming and sexy vamp with a piercing on his junk!!! And veritas the bad ass law guardian is just the women to keep this bad boy in line and together their one hell of a couple. In this new series spin off jeaniene is introducing all kinds of new and interesting characters like Ashael a handsome demon with black wings who is feared even by other demons and who has a secret connection to veritas. Also the old and secretive Yonah who was once a powerful demon Prince who hides away on a island were all kinds of creatures live. One of the coolest creatures is the Leviathan a water creature who guards the shore of the island to touch one is to drown forever! In wicked bite veritas has left Ian behind to protect him from the evil dagon a demon who had a score to settle with Ian and as long as dagon lives he is danger, so veritas goes on the hunt to find and kill him.But Ian refuses to stay behind and if that means going before the vampire council and getting shit stirred up He will. He doesn't remember much, but he knows that what him and veritas had was real and he'll be damned if anybody will keep him away from her!! Awesome storytelling and characters with great chemistry and full of passionate steamy vampire sex!!! It doesn't get any better then that!!! Next up book 3 Wicked All Night Coming in early 2021 ! Jeaniene Frost is one of my very favorite vampire writers of all time and anytime I get to sit down with one of her books I know I'm in for a hell of a ride! Until next time Luv's 💕💋

4 I remember Stars Wicked Bite was a good read. I didn't love it as much as I did the first book, but it was still very good. I think the thing that made this book a little less for me was I felt at times it was a bit slow. I still loved Veritas and Ian in this book. I still shipped them hard as a couple. I enjoyed the plot. I loved Cat in this book she really shined. But I felt the book slowed a bit, mainly when Veritas and Ian were apart. Ashael was a new character that I really liked. I hope to see more of him. I couldn't stand the vampire Council. They gave me twilight/ volturi vibes. I almost lost my shit with the little cameo from Timothy, beloved but long lost mate of Bones, Ian and Spade. I really really hope we get more from Timothy in later books. Overall I really enjoyed the book. However the ending I'm torn on. The whole Veritas has a unknown fiancé thing has me worried we are going into another Bones/Gregor story line and I really don't know how I feel about that.

TITLE: WICKED BITEAUTHOR: Jeaniene FrostSERIES: Night RebelRELEASE DATE: January 28, 2019GENRE: PNRTHEMES & TROPES: Vampires, DemonsRATING: 4 StarsCLIFFHANGER: You betREAD MY REVIEW ON THE BLOGJeaniene Frost is a sure bet for a good time. WICKED BITE is par for the course. I was eager to finally continue after the cliffy of SHADES OF WICKED she left us hanging with. Please mind that it is vital you read the first book before you read this one. I also want to point out that you may enjoy this series more if you've read all the other stories in this universe.I have to say that Veritas made it a little harder for me to like her this time. She eventually succeeded but her irritation with Ian, her denial of the bond they shared, the way she treated him at times was unfair and unwarranted. She gave him little credit to be able to hold his own while she was trying to fulfill the task she was entrusted with yet was reckless and even interfered out of pride when he had the chance to kill her archenemy because "he was hers to kill." Was this . . . was this what trust felt like? If so, it was like sinking into a warm bath after an achingly brutal day. I wanted to wrap myself in the glorious, unfamiliar feeling, but it was also an indictment on everything I’d done since Ian had come back from the dead. I thought Ian couldn’t survive the threats I still had to face, yet he’d proven more than able to meet every challenge I’d feared plus several I hadn’t even thought of. Throughout the story Veritas was fighting with the other half of her personality that would make her whole. I loved that she trusted herself and Ian when it was time to let her second nature loose. “Maybe you don’t realize it,” I said between clenched teeth. “But I’m having a problem at the moment.” “Does that problem have eyes that shoot silver beams while darkness billows behind her like a cape?” He grinned. “Made me rock hard seeing it.” He was aroused by my supernaturally sociopathic other half? “Fuck. You,” I bit out. He nodded. “Solid plan.” Ian doesn't back down on principle, everything for him was a challenge. I loved his cunning, the way how he kept surprising everyone because they'd underestimated him. He is the kind of character who cheerfully laughs death in the face. I didn't think it was possible but I think I love him even more than Bones. He's so protective, wickedly sensual and charming, and so, so funny. All I felt was how tightly he held me, how his power sparked against my skin, and how he kissed me with delicate savageness, as if he sensed my turmoil and sought to turn it into raw need instead. At the end of this book we get another twist, totally out of the blue but felt very familiar with what Cat and Bones went through in DESTINED FOR AN EARLY GRAVE. I'm not a big fan of repeat plot tools, especially if it's in the same universe but we'll see how this will turn out in the next installment.Overall this was a fun ride and a great addition to the Night Huntress world. As always, Jeaniene Frost's writing is totally engaging and captivating. We get a little Cat and Bones, Mencheres, Vlad and Leila. I am looking forward to the next installment and hope that Veritas will go back to being the badass character she was in book #1! And of course I need more Ian. Boy, the guy is sexy.

This review can also be found at Carole's Random Life in Books.I loved this book! It is no secret that I adore the entire Night Huntress universe. Ian has always been a great character and I was thrilled when I learned about this spin-off series featuring his character. I loved the first book in the Night Rebel series, Shades of Wicked, and couldn't wait to get my hands on this newest book. Let's just say that I went into this book with sky-high expectations and I wasn't disappointed. This book was just as good as I had hoped it would be. This is the second book in the Night Rebel series which I would recommend reading in order. This book picks up shortly after the events of the previous book. Ian and Veritas are not together. Ian shouldn't remember any of their time together and Veritas is committed to finding all the souls that were freed in order to save Ian. There is one big problem. Ian doesn't want to forget Veritas or let her go. I love Ian and Veritas. I was a bit frustrated with Veritas at the start of this book because I just wanted to see Ian and Veritas together and she was making things difficult. It all works out though because Ian rises to the challenge. I thought that their personalities really shined in this book and their feelings for each other made my heart happy. I think that I liked each of these characters a bit more with every page. They are both smart, tough, and willing to take risks. I thought that the story was really exciting. Even though I feel like I know this world really well, I love that there were a few surprises in store in this book. There was plenty of action and there were times that I didn't know how things would work out. It really seemed like they were outmatched at times and it was great to see Ian and Vertias rise to the challenge. I would highly recommend this book to others. I had a fantastic time with this book and loved that it was everything I hoped it would be. I cannot wait to read more of this amazing series!I received a digital review copy of this book from HarperCollins - Avon Books via Edelweiss.Initial ThoughtsI loved this book! Ian and Veritas are both great characters and I just love them together. There were quite a few surprises in this story and tons of excitement. There were some key appearances by some key players in the Night Huntress Universe and we also met a few new characters. This was one of those books that I found almost impossible to put down.

If you would have told me during the first few books of the Night Huntress series that A – I was going to love Ian and B – His books would be better than Vlad’s. I would have called you a dirty liar. But it is totally true and the reason for that isn’t just Ian but it is also Veritas. She is such a cool character with a lot happening and she is the perfect match for Ian in every way. “Clever, calculating, and cruel.” Ian’s voice dropped to an insinuating purr. “No wonder I married you.” Once again Veritas and Ian need to team up to search for a demon both has past dealings with. As they travel around the world both dodging him and trying to find a way to kill him we learn more of what Veritas’s nature really is and how she is really one of a kind. Ian is all kinds of smooth and it is funny the number of people that still can’t believe he is a changed man and willing to try out monogamy let alone marriage. I enjoyed seeing some of the more tender parts of Ian and his utter acceptance of everything Veritas is. As always seeing a few of the members from the Night Huntress series mixed in was great and did I catch a few hints of possibly another story in the Night Huntress world involving Cat, Bones and a little munchkin they call daughter. I think I might have. *fingers crossed*The ending is a bit of a shocker once again but at least Veritas and Ian are in a whole slew of trouble together this time. I’m looking forward to seeing how it is all going to shake out especially with that reveal at the end. So until next book remember sometimes you have to kick the darkness until it bleeds daylight.

I'm starting off by saying that this series is AMAZING!! Seriously, if and when you meet Ian, you'll be so freaking thrilled. Add Veritas to the mix... non-stop excitement!Seriously, if you haven't started this series yet, why not? What is stopping you??? While I'd love nothing more than to tell you everything that popped off in this book, to tell you all of the things I loved, I can't. No spoilers, right? So here are some of my favorite things...🪄 Ian, of course. This vampire is a constant surprise. His sarcasm, his wit, his charm, his fearlessness, his bravery, his honor, his passion... what is there not to love?🪄 Veritas was also catching me off guard. When we left off, she sacrificed her own happiness for Ian's. Could her heart be any more true? And then when he does whatever it takes, pissing people off along the way, how was she supposed to resist him? And then her powers? Only gets better. Oh and her family gets bigger *hint hint*🪄 the magic is always fun. When they both go against Dagon (again), I was blown away by how much I enjoyed those scenes.🪄 everything. Seriously, there wasn't a moment of boredom, annoyance, frustration, or the like. I was engaged, entertained, and in love! The ending of this one introduces some new drama for the next one and I can't wait to find out how it all unfolds. As long as these two remain together, I'm good.Find more on the blog

Originally posted at: Throughout this book, I was lukewarm at best until the crap finally hit the fan in the last few chapters. Things changed drastically in those last few chapters. I don't know what I was expecting to make me not love the beginning and middle of this novel. Maybe it was the amnesia plotline that made me take a step back and reconsider because I dislike it in general regardless of the book or author it's written by.Veritas is slowly winning me over. I got off on the wrong foot with her in the last book in Vlad's series and even though the first book in this series blew me away I was still iffy about her. Though I can't deny the chemistry she and Ian have and don't even get me started on how much I adore all the witty banter and sexual innuendo-laden humor. She's strong and protective of what she loves and that includes Silver (which is too adorable to harm! Please may the writer gods protect the beautiful and innocent creature!)Ian has proven himself to be time and time again an amazing and protective guy to a degree. He may come off as the bad guy depending on if what he wants will affect the other person or not. I like how bloodthirsty he is when it comes to protecting Veritas. It's sweet in a very disturbing and creepy way because he's a vampire... duh.I didn't know what to expect from the next book in the series before the very last chapter and boy am I ready! That wasn't even on my mind and it was a perfect way to end this book. Things were resolved enough where it felt like a good stopping point while at the same time casting out future storylines that will come to pass. I wasn't mad at this ending and I'm so glad the amnesia thing is over and done with at this point. The Audio Book:The narration was great! I liked how she kept up Veritas's accent throughout the novel. It helped to immerse me into the story even farther.

If someone had told me a few years ago when I first 'met' Ian that I would fall head over heels in love with him and would root for a HEA, I would have laughed in their faces. Sure, he was a fascinating character but in those first few books I wanted to shred his heart with a silver knife. But as the Night Huntress series progressed and more of Ian's layers were revealed, I started reluctantly liking him. Ian saved the last of the Night Prince series. If it wasn't for him, that book would have been a total waste of time. But it did set the foundation on which Night Rebel stands on so I can't really dislike that book. Shades of Wicked showed us a side of Ian I never suspected existed. Oh I knew he's loyal to those he loves but the dept of that loyalty surprised me. He portrays himself as a reckless, brainless manwhore but the truth can't be further from it (except on the manwhore part, that's totally him). The last few chapters of Shades of Wicked were brutal and broke my heart. And the waiting for Wicked Bite was excruciating. Needless to say I devoured it in a couple of days. Oh the drama of the first several chapters! Ian went all out trying to get his memory and wife back. What I wouldn't give to be able to tell Ian from One Foot in the Grave that he would be chasing after his run away bride one day! I can just picture his horrified expression once he realizes I'm serious! Anyway, the first few chapters were HILARIOUS! And no one can say that Ian is a quitter. Or that he would let something like a sense of self-preservation stop him from getting what he wants. And he wants Veritas. After the events of the previous book I learned not to underestimate Ian's intelligence but despite that I was surprised at how astute he is when it comes to emotional traumas. I know I shouldn't be surprised based on what I know about his past but still when he drops the clown act and talks with Veritas about her issues with her 'other half' and the roots of her semi-split personality I was blown away. It was one of the most powerful scenes in the book and believe me the competition was stiff. While Ian did shine extremely brightly it was Veritas who showed the most character growth. Ian doesn't really change throughout the book. It's more like he sheds layers of his armor and finally lets us see the real Ian. Veritas on the other hand has so many unresolved and unacknowledged issues that being forced to even examine them makes her change and grow. She's so repressed emotionally it's a wonder she hadn't exploded. being with Ian has changed her dramatically as you would see when you get to the final few chapters and see her make a very un-Veritas like choice. She's finally embracing not only Ariel but her 'other half' and the combination of the three personalities is fascinating. Learning more about her past, her lineage and meeting her (view spoiler)[brother was eye opening. Knowing all that made the ending that much more powerful. I dread what it would mean for her and Ian's immediate future but I'm sure they'll overcome it. Somehow. And so the wait begins. (hide spoiler)]

This review was originally posted on Addicted To RomanceThis will be a shorter review so I don't risk spoiling too much for you!!Wicked Bite is the second book in the newest trilogy "Night Rebel" and this series features our favorite joker of the group.,....Ian. After falling in love with the first book, "Shades of Wicked" I was so eager to get into this book and I have to say that this book just didn't disappoint in any way. This story is full of all the epic feels that you would come to expect from this author and your desire to see Ian have his own powerful story. I will say though that the feeling of this story is different from the other books in the Night Huntress World but just as superb just unique from the others. There is something in the telling of Ian and Veritas' story that is so empowering in many ways. Their story is so relatable in some ways. There are so many fun discoveries that we are brought to reality with and what a thrilling ride it is. Ian and Veritas go on a stunning adventure with many roadblocks along the way and what a cliffhanger. Now, this is the type of cliffhanger that unlike that previous book.....our pair is still together but there is some tension on what is going to happen in book three. These two just NEVER get a break do they??!! But they are solid and are true fighters and see how unified they become in this story and I was there for it 100%!! If you loved the first book then you will have a fantastic time seeing Ian and Veritas continue their adventure!!!

Wow. Wow. Wow. This was hot.All jokes aside, I seriously can't remember the last time I read a decent vampire (or supernaturalish) novel, so kudos to the author for doing such a great job bringing these characters to life. The storyline that was engaging and engrossed me enough in the read nearly left me speechless, the dynamic relationship between Veritas and Ian was superb and their connection was swoonworthy. Just knowing that she meant something even after all his memories were erased showcased that and was further proven by their intimate scenes (prince albert, anyone?). So don’t miss out on this great supernatural paranormal novel filled with action, actual plot and storyline (bless), hot vampires, and oh so steamy chemistry. But… yes there is a but! Please note that this obviously isn’t a standalone, so definitely check out book one of the series to catch up on Veritas and Ian journey in defeating Dagon and rekindling a nearly diminish relationship.
