Amy Bright is Destiny, Ohio’s bookstore owner, cat care giver and the local matchmaker. She is helping her two best girlfriends prepare for their upcoming weddings, while trying to get her new cat Austen acquainted with her old cat Mr. Knightley. In the midst of all this her best guy friend, Logan, is going through a tough time and she is trying to get him to get his life back in order. But in an unexpected moment Logan kisses her and changes how she sees him and herself. If that wasn’t enough to keep these characters busy, a ghost from the past pops up and changes everything.I love this series and I was really excited to read Amy’s happily ever after. This book was next to impossible to set down and at about 2 am last night/this morning I had a 15 minute debate with myself about whether or not I should stay up all night and finish reading. Finally, the fact that I had family portraits today won out, after deciding red, puffy and tired eyes wouldn’t look good, I had to set it aside. But even after I went to bed, I couldn’t get Amy and Logan out of my head.Logan is a bit of an ass and I at times I wanted to jump through the pages and punch him in the nose, or the crotch. He could be so sweet and caring one minute, then a clueless, spineless, jackass the next. It was frustrating. The character of Anna was also a source of anxiety for me. I really tried to sympathize, to empathize with her, but I really couldn’t. She was selfish and self-centered and I wanted her to go back from whence she came! I could have done without her interference in this story, and only at the very end did I ever get even the mildest of lukewarm feelings for her. I am guessing she will be starring in her own Destiny novel one day soon, I am sure Ms. Blake will make me like her then. Amy’s heart is pure and to watch her finally fall in love was as sweet and as hard as I thought it would be. Her road to happily ever after wasn’t an easy one. But in the end all the heartache and struggles pay off.Cherise Everhard, May 2012

It's no secret that I'm a huge Jane Austen fan. And the character of Amy in Toni Blake's Destiny series with her penchant for Austen, and her cat named Mr. Knightly, is one whose HEA I've been waiting impatiently for. Leave it to TB to give me that HEA with a fun and sexy modern re-working of Jane Austen's Emma wherein Amy plays Emma to her BFF Logan Whitaker's Mr. Knightly. There are so many elements here to love. Logan is supersexy if a bit frustrating--not unlike Mr. Knightly. Amy is sweet, if frustrating--not unlike Emma. There are some elements that I can guess are going to bug some critics, but I think TB motivates them effectively. I can't really tell what it is because I don't want to spoil. Let's just say that fans of the Destiny series will love this installment and leave it at that.

3.5 StarsShy Amy Bright is the town matchmaker and has helped her friends on their path to romance, but at 34 years old it seems like it is a case of "Always the bridesmaid, never the bride". But one drunken kiss with her best friend Logan Whitaker changes everything and Amy can't stop thinking about him in a new, and thrilling way, could it be the man she is destined to love is also her best friend? This is the first book I have read of Toni Blake's and I really enjoyed it! Although this is the fifth in the Destiny series you don't actually need to read the previous four books to understand what is happening, although it would probably enrich the book as you would know all the side characters and perhaps Amy and Logan a bit better. Amy and Logan had their good and bad points, Amy was a bit of a doormat and Logan seemed pretty oblivious to her feelings, not the greatest combination. And although I liked them both indivdually, as a couple I wasn't really feeling the romantic connection, it still just seemed like they were friends. But, although I wasn't completely convinced by the romance, I did really like this book. The writing was great, the characters were all really well fleshed out, even the side characters I fely like I knew even though I haven't read the other books. However, one AWESOME aspect of the book was the name of Amy's bookshop UNDER THE COVERS , what a fantastic name, it reminds me of a certain AMAZING blog LOL!A great read and I will definietly be looking for more of Toni Blake's books.

Over all I liked it (but I tend to like everything I read because it takes me away :) ). I liked catching up with the prior characters...Mike and Lucky ;). I really didn't care about reading Amy's story prior to the book...but then learning how she was always the "little sister" type ...I was that person growing up so I read it. There was a lack of Logan POV and that was a little odd, right? He was the "hero" afterall. I did not like "girl from the past" at all and I didn't feel badly that Amy had ill feelings for her and kept waiting for Mike to notice how she was and call her on it too. Overall I gave it a 41/2 I liked seeing Lucky's friend and hope we get his story.

Lee's review posted on Guilty PleasuresARC ReviewWhen I got the chance to review Willow Springs, by Toni Blake I was beyond excited! If you are like me, you have been waiting to see what was going to happen between Logan and Amy for a while. Ms. Blake did not disappoint with this book.Amy and Logan have been friends their whole lives and up until a tragedy occured for Logan, neither one ever thought of the other in a romantic way. Now it’s the only thing that is on Amy’s mind and the new emotions she is experiencing and the sudden appearance of a new, stunningly beautiful woman has left Amy feeling things she is unfamiliar with and doesn’t like. While reading this book I experience a HUGE variety of emotions. There were times when I was so frustrated with what was happening that I wanted to throw the book across the room. But I was so emotionally invested in the story of Logan and Amy that I wasn’t able to put Willow Springs down and ended up reading all 370 plus pages in a matter of hours. The fact that I felt I was going through the ups and downs with Amy as I read is, in my opinion, is proof positive of how brilliant of an author Ms. Blake is.There were times when I was so upset for Amy, so mad at Logan, and then there were times when I just wanted to scream at the both of them to get their acts together. And even with all of that, this has to be one of my very favorite books for 2012 so far. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Blake has in store for us next!

WOW! 10 stars! This is the best book in the whole series so far. I pretty much felt every emotion while reading this book. At some parts I didn't know if I should love or hate this book, but believe me I love it. Conflict and all! Amazing! I'm still speechless.

Very good book. Logan and Amy have been friends all their lives. When Logan loses two friends during a fire he starts to question everything about his life. He's in the middle of terrible depression, not caring about anything, when Amy shows up to try to snap him out of it. When she gives him a hug of comfort, he kisses her, and suddenly nothing is the way it was before.Amy has been known as the town matchmaker, having an amazing ability to see when two people belong together. Unfortunately, she doesn't seem to be able to do the same for herself. She's gone on a few dates, but no one has had that zing that makes her want to continue, until that amazing kiss with Logan. Suddenly she realizes that it's been Logan all along, but she hasn't got the courage to let him know. His obvious dismay at having kissed her isn't helping anything. Amy is very shy and has zero confidence in herself as a woman. The only way she can let him know of her interest is by sending him anonymous letters. It doesn't help that the long missing, and very beautiful, Anna Romo has returned to Destiny and Logan is visibly smitten.Logan is haunted by the two deaths during a fire he was fighting. He hasn't been able to go back to work as a firefighter since it happened, and spends his days in a fog. The only thing keeping him going is his friendship with Amy, who has always been there for him. When he loses his head one day and kisses her, he is horrified by what he has done. Logan has never had a successful relationship with a woman, and the thought of this kiss ruining his friendship with Amy scares him so he backs off, even though he can't forget it. Anna's reappearance in Destiny throws him off too. He remembers how she followed him around when they were kids, and she makes her interest in him now quite clear. He thinks she is just what he needs but also finds himself reluctant to get truly involved with her. He blames it on being her brother's best friend, but realizes that isn't the whole story. The whole romance between Amy and Logan is full of ups and downs. Amy's self confidence is nonexistent when it come to male/female relationships. She doesn't think she's at all pretty and when she compares herself to Anna she feels even worse. I liked the way her friends tried to show her that she had nothing to worry about, but it was an uphill battle. Now that she has accepted that she's in love with Logan she's even more bummed about his fascination with Anna. I loved seeing her finally get up the courage to tell him that she wrote the notes, and what happened afterwards was great. But she's still having problems with Logan seeing her as more than a friend, or now a friend with benefits. She and Logan start spending time together as more than friends, but she's still fighting for his attention when Anna is around. She does finally start to gain confidence in herself as a woman and realizes that she deserves better than what she is getting from Logan. I loved seeing her stand up to him and let him know how she felt. I loved the way that she knew Logan so well, but she tended to be a bit of a nag when it came to him going back to being a firefighter. She had some trouble backing off about that, and it was one of the things that put a strain on their relationship. Her insecurities about Anna also led her to being rather mean at a party, which wasn't at all like her. I loved seeing her stand up for her own needs, even though it hurt her to do it. There was so much emotion in this section that I went through several tissues. There were quite a few places where I really wanted to either shake Logan or hit him with a baseball bat. I completely understood his problems with getting over the tragedy. There is no timetable for grief and he had a lot to work through. I thought that Amy could have been more understanding about that. When he had that moment where he kissed Amy, it was quite a wake up call for him. Suddenly he was looking at her differently and it really freaked him out, so he tried to ignore it. Having Anna show up in Destiny gave him the distraction he thought he needed. But as much as he kept telling himself that he really wanted to go out with her, he found it very easy to find reasons not to - everything from his friendship with her brother to his own unsettled life. He didn't want to admit to himself that the reason was his feelings for Amy. His constant waffling back and forth drove me nuts, and when he allowed Anna to hijack him at the fair I didn't blame Amy for walking off at all. Logan knew he was being an idiot but he couldn't seem to stop himself. When Amy gave him that last lecture about what he should be doing he lost it with her, even though he knew she was right. He was stunned at her ending everything with him, including their friendship, and found himself questioning everything. I liked seeing him finally start dealing with his grief and moving toward getting his life back on track. His "ah ha" moment was fantastic and made a great ending. The character of Anna was pretty complex. Her arrival back in Destiny was great as it got the entire Romo family back together. But as a person, I found her pretty obnoxious. I understood her conflict as she is dealing with the fact that her entire life has been a lie. She's overwhelmed by her reception, but she also seemed to be kind of snotty with the way she held herself back. She also appeared to look down on the entire town. I didn't care at all for her pursuit of Logan, as it didn't seem to matter to her if he was truly interested in her. Her actions at the fair were particularly obnoxious. I understood her frustration with Mike's attitude and treatment of her, but having it out with him on his wedding day was just plain mean and selfish. She seemed to be changing by the end, so hopefully that will continue in the next book.

Gone PecanAmy Bright is that friend that is always the sweetest, most positive person you know (we all have one, right?). So when her best friend, Logan, falls into a depression he can’t shake, she does everything she can to get him out of it because that’s the kind of person she is. When he (drunkenly) kisses her, she’s caught completely off guard and finds she likes it. Then she smoothly jumps to the conclusion that she’s in love with him and has been for years. Logan, of course, is clueless. Like, seriously. Because she cannot get up the nerve to tell him her feelings, she begins sending him sexy notes from a secret admirer. Then there’s the other woman, the confident, beautiful new person in town who’s drawn his attention and who Amy doesn’t think she can compete with. This is my favorite kind of story, best friends who fall in love. Reading the first few books in the series, I knew that Amy & Logan were meant to be together (and not just because I read the blurbs on all of them immediately after beginning book one). The way they interacted made me think that Amy had feelings for him and was keeping it secret. So, immediately, this skewed from my expectations, but that’s fine. I liked that Amy kinda broke out of her shell but didn’t exactly reinvent the wheel to get Logan’s attention. Her reaction to his flirtation with the new woman in town was heart-breakingly real. I hated that she had to go through that. Logan, meanwhile, I’m still having issues with. I don’t want to say he was clueless again, but it bears repeating. It took him a while to get into the romance with Amy frame of mind and his uncertainty about beginnning a romantic relationship with her seems genuine. He wasn’t scheming and wasn’t trying to be a “player.” I liked him, he was a sweet, honorable guy, but I didn’t appreciate his leading on the two girls, which wasn’t really his intention. He didn’t know what he wanted. And sometimes his interactions with Amy read as a little skeevy because Amy being who she is and her past and who that made her (she’s very naive and innocent). But when Logan found out about her past, I think he took advantage, at least a little bit.The way Ms. Blake wrote the love triangle made it very hard to know who to hope would win his heart because she brings the other woman’s POV into play. That was sneaky. Because now you like both of them. Overall, I liked the book and loved Amy, but it was darker than I was expecting (because Amy is such a sweet, light-hearted person in the other books). And I did like Logan, but his depression made him a different person than he had been in the other books and probably made him do things he would not have done otherwise. Anyway, I’m hoping the other woman (funny how I never mention her name…) is the heroine in the next book in the series. And if she is, I think I know who the next hero will be, so I’m very excited about that. :) Pecans: 3.5/5
