How to read Jodi Picoult’s books in order

But, how many books has Jodi Picoult published, and what is their chronological order? Let’s depart from the airstrip and find out.
Exploring the Writings of Jodi Picoult
Jodi Lynn Picoult is an American novelist from New Hampshire, famous for her dynamic and captivating works, which quickly helped her rise to become a consistent bestselling author.
Her writing career officially started in 1992, and before that, she studied creative writing at Princeton University with Mary Morris in the late 1980s. Over the span of her writing career, Picoult has tackled and covered a wide range of controversial, but important, topics, such as abortion, eugenics, assisted suicide, race relations, LGBT rights, religion, Amish life, fertility issues, school shootings, and the death penalty.
For example, her 25th novel Small Great Things (2016) follows Ruth Jefferson, an African-American nurse, who deals with a difficult situation at work influenced by anti-black racism. The successful yet controversial novel, also had a novella titled Shine. One of her earlier works, titled Keeping Faith (1999) deals with religious experiences. Picoult also worked on the DC Comics series Wonder Woman as a writer for a few months back in 2007.
Picoult’s novel Nineteen Minutes, a work about the aftermath of a school shooting in a small town, was her first book to end up on The New York Times best-seller list at the number one spot.
She’s also co-written novels with other writers such as her daughter Samantha and also author Jennifer Finney Boylan.
Order of Between the Lines
Between the Lines is a book series written by Jodie Picoult and her daughter Samantha Van Leer. It’s a YA series consisting of two books, Between the Lines and Off the Page. The book reached significant success, finding itself as #1 on The New York Times bestseller and a Publishers Weekly bestseller.
In the first book, we get to meet the protagonist Delilah, a 15-year-old girl who is somewhat of a loner spending most of her time reading books. Her favorite book, which she’s absolutely enamored by, is a children’s fairy tale called Between the Lines, which tells the story of Prince Oliver.
No one really understands Delilah’s obsession with a book written for kids, but that doesn’t really get to her. After all, she’s a social outcast with divorced parents and one friend named Jules, who is also a social outcast, albeit by her own choosing.
However, none of this is easy on Delilah. After all, she has to maneuver between her chaotic family life and the loneliness she feels in high school. At home, she feels like something is missing, and even though she loves her mother dearly, she still yearns to meet her estranged father. At school, she’s caught the evil eye of the most popular girl in her class.
When it all starts to weigh on her, she begins to confide in Prince Oliver, but to her surprise, he actually responds. With this, their unique bond begins to develop, and they start falling in love.
In the second book, Off the Page, Delilah and Prince Oliver are finally coming to terms with their happy reality, however, the universe may have other plans. They find out they won’t be able to rewrite their story, and it’s on them to figure out what risks they should or shouldn’t take.
Leaving Time stories
Leaving Time is a novel by Jodi Picoult published in 2014, and it follows the story of a girl named Jenna. The novel also has a bonus novella titled Larger Than Life.
The 13-year-old Jenna Metcalf is dedicated to finding her missing mother, Alice. With the help of a retired detective and a psychic, Jenna wants to uncover what happened in the aftermath of the elephant sanctuary accident.
The accident in question left her mother with a head injury, but, despite her injury, the woman checked herself out of the hospital the same night she got there and was never seen again. Her mysterious disappearance led Jenna’s father to madness, and Jenna ended up staying with her grandmother after her father was admitted to the mental hospital.
As the story progresses we get to learn more about the incident as detective Virgil and psychic Serenity help Jenna uncover the truth.

Love can redeem a man…but secrets and lies can condemn him.
A handsome stranger comes to the sleepy New England town of Salem Falls in hopes of burying his past: Once a teacher at a girls’ prep school, Jack St. Bride was destroyed when a student’s crush sparked a powder keg of accusation. Now, washing dishes for Addie Peabody at the Do-Or-Diner, he slips quietly into his new routine, and Addie finds this unassuming man fitting easily inside her heart. But amid the rustic calm of Salem Falls, a quartet of teenage girls harbor dark secrets–and they maliciously target Jack with a shattering allegation. Now, at the center of a modern-day witch hunt, Jack is forced once again to proclaim his innocence: to a town searching for answers, to a justice system where truth becomes a slippery concept written in shades of gray, and to the woman who has come to love him. -

“Sometimes I wonder….Can a ghost find you, if she wants to?”
An intricate tale of love, haunting memories, and renewal, Second Glance begins in current-day Vermont, where an old man puts a piece of land up for sale and unintentionally raises protest from the local Abenaki Indian tribe, who insist it’s a burial ground. When odd, supernatural events plague the town of Comtosook, a ghost hunter is hired by the developer to help convince the residents that there’s nothing spiritual about the property.
Enter Ross Wakeman, a suicidal drifter who has put himself in mortal danger time and again. He’s driven his car off a bridge into a lake. He’s been mugged in New York City and struck by lightning in a calm country field. Yet despite his best efforts, life clings to him and pulls him ever deeper into the empty existence he cannot bear since his fiancee’s death in a car crash eight years ago. Ross now lives only for the moment he might once again encounter the woman he loves. But in Comtosook, the only discovery Ross can lay claim to is that of Lia Beaumont, a skittish, mysterious woman who, like Ross, is on a search for something beyond the boundary separating life and death. Thus begins Jodi Picoult’s enthralling and ultimately astonishing story of love, fate, and a crime of passion.
Hailed by critics as a “master” storyteller (The Washington Post), Picoult once again “pushes herself, and consequently the reader, to think about the unthinkable” (Denver Post). Second Glance, her eeriest and most engrossing work yet, delves into a virtually unknown chapter of American history–Vermont’s eugenics project of the 1920s and 30s–to provide a compelling study of the things that come back to haunt us–literally and figuratively. Do we love across time, or in spite of it? -

New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult is widely acclaimed for her keen insights into the hearts and minds of real people. Now she tells the emotionally riveting story of a family torn apart by conflicting needs and a passionate love that triumphs over human weakness.
Anna is not sick, but she might as well be. By age thirteen, she has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots so that her older sister, Kate, can somehow fight the leukemia that has plagued her since childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna was conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate–a life and a role that she has never challenged…until now. Like most teenagers, Anna is beginning to question who she truly is. But unlike most teenagers, she has always been defined in terms of her sister–and so Anna makes a decision that for most would be unthinkable, a decision that will tear her family apart and have perhaps fatal consequences for the sister she loves.
My Sister’s Keeper examines what it means to be a good parent, a good sister, a good person. Is it morally correct to do whatever it takes to save a child’s life, even if that means infringing upon the rights of another? Is it worth trying to discover who you really are, if that quest makes you like yourself less? Should you follow your own heart, or let others lead you? Once again, in My Sister’s Keeper, Jodi Picoult tackles a controversial real-life subject with grace, wisdom, and sensitivity. -

Every life has a soundtrack. All you have to do is listen.
Music has set the tone for most of Zoe Baxter’s life. There’s the melody that reminds her of the summer she spent rubbing baby oil on her stomach in pursuit of the perfect tan. A dance beat that makes her think of using a fake ID to slip into a nightclub. A dirge that marked the years she spent trying to get pregnant.
For better or for worse, music is the language of memory. It is also the language of love.
In the aftermath of a series of personal tragedies, Zoe throws herself into her career as a music therapist. When an unexpected friendship slowly blossoms into love, she makes plans for a new life, but to her shock and inevitable rage, some people–even those she loves and trusts most–don’t want that to happen.
Sing You Home is about identity, love, marriage, and parenthood. It’s about people wanting to do the right thing for the greater good, even as they work to fulfill their own personal desires and dreams. And it’s about what happens when the outside world brutally calls into question the very thing closest to our hearts: family. -
