CMU Sphinx also known as sphinx, is an open-source toolkit for Speech Recognition. Talking about pocketsphinx, it is a part of CMU Sphinx which is used to recognize speech. Now you might be thinking when we already have Google API, why use Sphinx?. When you wish to work online, you can use Google API with Speech recognition which is more accurate, easy to install and use, but when you want to work offline(without the use of the internet) you can go with pocketsphinx.

About Cmu SPphinx
A big vocabulary continuous speech recognizer with speaker independence, CMUSphinx was made available under a BSD-style license. Additionally, it is a collection of free and open-source materials and tools that help academics and developers create voice recognition systems. The collective name for the series of voice recognition systems created at Carnegie Mellon University is CMU Sphinx, sometimes known as Sphinx for short. These contain an acoustic model trainer and a group of speech recognizers (Sphinx 2–4). (SphinxTrain). Sphinx 2 and Sphinx 3 were two speech recognizer components that the Sphinx group at Carnegie Mellon promised to making available as open source in 2000. (in 2001). Sample applications and acoustic models are included with the speech decoders. Software for acoustic model training, language model compilation, and other resources are also available.

Sphinx is easy to install and setup and performs surprisingly well without any forced grammar. With PocketSphinx you can easily get some results, enabling you to focus more on configuring sphinx for your project at hand. The support is excellent, both in reaction time (on the forums and the IRC channel) and of high quality.

The Telegram group is a great idea, but Nikolay doesnt answer right. Not everybody can dedicate their lifes to "speech recognition". EDIT: I was 2 harsh on him. He is trying his best to help people, even tho , he doesnt have to (join the telegram group and see it yourself) . If you want to use CMUSphinx, do it. But it isn´t the easiest. Thank you Nikolay <3

Not as polished as other products, and not as centralized as a SAAS programs that do similar things. However, for the price, the somewhat clunky UI can be forgiven. Must run on local machine, not web based.
