Pro: I like having a way to quickly jot down notes, and yet have them organized and looking neat. This app is great for that, especially with the use of tags. The only negative review I had of this app was the lack of landscape mode for typing. However, this was recently fixed in an app update, so I'm very happy with the app!

This app, which goes by the name Short Notes, is deceptively straightforward despite its ability to facilitate rapid idea capture. You will never again fail to remember any of your ideas, regardless of where you are or when you are there. Because each note can only be up to 250 characters long, Short Notes forces you to be succinct in your writing. You are also able to better organize your thoughts because it enables you to attach multiple tags to a single note. The fact that your notes can be read in one continuous stream makes reading them a very convenient activity. It's just like reading a Twitter timeline.

I can easily store articles, notes, books, and syllabi in folders as I prepare for my dissertation and exams. Powerful but easy to organize. I do wish there was a bit more of a detailed interface for note taking. But overall, Devonthink is a powerful software that does everything I need. It is a great and powerful program for graduate students, academics, and other researchers. Great for storing readings, pdfs, and notes for projects, classes, etc.

The thing I like best is that I can export all of the mail from mac mail into devonthink. I then have access to that email, not only from my mac, but also from my iPad and iPhone. The only thing I dislike happens to be one of the things I like most about Devonthink -- The email archiving capability is great, except for the fact that email that is archived to Devonthink is not deleted from Mac Mail. It's not horrible, since I only archived filed email.
