Where to find the best Quran audiobook

Whether you’re getting started in Islamic studies, you’re a long-practicing Muslim, or you’re a scholar of the Quran conducting tafsir, learning from the Holy Quran can be an important part of connecting with God (Allah, or Ala), and hearing Al Quran recitation in audio format can make it easier to get the messages you need to thrive in life. Whether you’re looking for an Android app on Google Play to make it easier to listen to your religious studies, a specific Quran app to help you learn more about the Holy Book, or an app developed by experts in the Middle East closest to Mecca to help you learn more about the teachings of Mohammad, you’ll be glad to know you have many options.

Here, we’ll explore a brief history of the Quran, take a look at some different ways that you can listen to the Quran, and go over some commonly asked questions on the best way to study the Quran in audio format.

The Quran: Explained

Also known as the Qur’an or the Koran, the Quran is the religious text that Muslim people (followers of Islam) believe to be the word of Allah, or God.

People who believe in the Koran believe that the literature was passed to the prophet Muhammad (also often spelled Mohammad or Mohamed) by God. It’s believed that the text of the Quran was passed to Muhammad through the angiel Gabriel. According to Islam, it took about 23 years to pass the text to Muhammad, who then used the information he got from Gabriel to create the Quran.

In the Islamic tradition, it’s believed that the Quran is evidence that Muhammad was a prophet. People who follow Islam believe that the Quran is the literal word of God. Muhammad himself did not know how to write, so it’s believed that he had scribes who worked with him to get the word of Allah down onto paper. Important sayings and actions of the life of Muhammad and his family not recorded in the Quran are known as hadith.

After Muhammad died in 632 CE, the scribes who worked with him compiled the Koran, using both the information they wrote while Muhammad was alive and the information they remembered him speaking that they had yet to write down.

There are a few different versions of the Koran, but all versions share the same central beliefs. Most people who follow Islam use a version of the Quran known as the Uthmanic codex, which was established by Caliph Uthman.

There are several main points in the Quran, including monotheism—a belief that is shared across many modern religions, particularly Abrahamic religions of which Islam is one. Monotheism is the belief that there is a single God who is eternal and omnipotent. God (or Allah, in the case of the Koran) is seen as the divine creator who has ultimate power to speak anything into being, or to stop beings from existing. The monotheism of Islam differs from pre-Islamic religions of the Middle East, of which some where polytheistic and worshiped other gods or idols, such as Nasr.

The Quran also discusses eschatology, or the belief that the world will one day come to an end. About a third of the religious text is dedicated to discussing the afterlife and a time of judgment at the end of the world. You can also learn about many other religious figures in Islam whose stories are contained in the Quran, such as Yusuf and Imran.

In addition to providing people who are of the Islamic faith with religious guidelines, the Quran also provides cultural guidelines. The book encourages those of faith to perform acts of charity, helping those in need. The text also tells believers to stay away from certain acts, such as gambling. It provides guidance on performing certain religious rituals, such as fasting during Ramadan and saying formal prayers.

Listening to the Quran

If you’re a Muslim person who is interested in growing in your faith, it can be helpful to listen to the Koran when you’re on the go, instead of having to sit down and take time out of your busy day to study. While there is value in meditation and silence while reading the Koran, listening to the Holy Book when you’re on the go can help you connect your faith in a deep, consistent way that can be tough to do otherwise.
