Terms of Service for Speechify Studio - Community Voices

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your participation in Community Voices, a program within Speechify Studio that allows licensed voice models to be used by other users for AI speech generation. By participating in or using voices from Community Voices, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Overview

Community Voices enables users to generate speech using licensed Voice Models contributed by approved Voice Actors. These models are only made available after the Voice Actor signs a written agreement with Speechify. No public submission or auto-onboarding is currently supported.

2. Voice Contribution

2.1 Manual Contribution Only

Only manually submitted Voice Models are accepted. All contributors must sign a formal Voice Licensing Agreement with Speechify before onboarding.

2.2 License Terms

Each Voice Actor grants Speechify a non-exclusive, worldwide, sublicensable license to distribute and allow others to generate synthetic speech using their voice, subject to the terms of the signed agreement.

3. Usage by End Users

Users of Speechify Studio may generate speech using any available Community Voice, under these conditions:

Content must be lawful, non-defamatory, and non-misleading.
Impersonation or deception is strictly prohibited.
Commercial use is only allowed where permitted by Speechify.

Speechify may monitor and restrict access to any voice model to ensure ethical and compliant usage.

4. Compensation for Voice Actors

Voice Actors may be eligible to receive compensation as defined in their signed Voice Licensing Agreement. This may include:

Usage-based royalties (e.g., per characters generated)
Monthly revenue shares
Flat fees or incentive payments

All payments are managed through third-party processors (e.g., Stripe), and Voice Actors are responsible for any local tax obligations.

5. Model Removal & Notice Period

Voice Actors may request model removal at any time. Once initiated:

The Voice Model will be de-listed for new users immediately.
Existing users will retain access through the agreed notice period (e.g. 30–90 days).
Voice Actors may request immediate takedown before the end of the notice period by submitting an Early Revocation Request, which may incur a fee reflecting platform disruption and forecasted usage loss.

6. Prohibited Use

You may not use Community Voices to:

Create deepfakes, impersonations, or voice clones of real people
Generate hate speech, threats, or any illegal content
Produce sexually explicit, abusive, or exploitative material

Moderation tools may be applied, but enforcement is not guaranteed. Violators may lose access and face legal consequences.

7. Ownership

Voice Actors retain rights to their raw voice recordings and identity. Speechify retains ownership of the resulting Voice Model and system-level representations.

End users retain ownership of the output they generate, provided it complies with these Terms and applicable law.

No further royalties, residuals, or collective rights payments are due beyond what is explicitly stated in the signed agreement.

8. Privacy

All voice contributions and processing of personal data follow the Speechify Privacy Policy and the terms of the signed consent forms. Voice data is not used for unrelated purposes.

9. Termination

Speechify reserves the right to remove Voice Models, suspend accounts, or terminate access at any time for policy violations or legal concerns.

Termination does not retroactively void previously licensed uses or compensation due.

10. Legal Relationship

Participating in Community Voices does not create an employment, partnership, or agency relationship between you and Speechify.

11. Updates

These Terms may be updated periodically. We’ll notify users of major changes. Continued participation in or usage of Community Voices implies acceptance of the latest version.
