Besides allowing college students to multitask, audiobooks can be educational, motivational, and entertaining. Here are our top 5 picks.

Student years are formative years, no matter how cliché that might sound. College life is the time of your life when you develop and venture into the world of grownups. And, as life would have it, it isn’t uncommon to wonder who and what you want to become.

All those questions and problems might appear too troublesome at times. However, you can always borrow from other people’s experiences, as generation by generation, we all face similar dilemmas. And the best way to borrow those experiences is through good books.

    Read before graduation

Time is the most valuable currency we have. This means that you can’t read every other book that crosses your path. Instead, you should focus on essential reads that can help overcome your doubts and make you a better and more successful person.

Yet, instead of reading, why not listen? Audiobooks are a perfect way to consume new material while still being able to do other activities. Therefore, we have come up with a top 5 list of the best books for college students and their audio versions. Let’s check them out.

The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg

Let’s be frank. Our habits are more powerful than most of us are willing to admit. Namely, almost 40% of all our activities are habitual, according to one Stanford study. This means that we’re on autopilot almost half the time.

In the first book on our list, The Power of Habit, its author, Charles Duhigg explains all you need to know about habits. From good to bad, he covers all the necessary details that can provide us with much-needed solutions, especially in our formative college years.

The Happiness Equation by Neil Pasricha

Happiness is probably the priciest word in any language. But what does it mean? Is it love, being a billionaire, or something else entirely? Well, it differs from person to person. What doesn’t, however, is that we all struggle to find it at some point.

Neil Pasricha is a New York Times best-selling author, and his book The Happiness Equation is a perfect place to look for answers. He explains how to do what you want and still be successful by the time you’re done with it. Thus, it’s an essential read for all students.

    Deep Work by Cal Newport

One of the most common problems students have is a lack of focus. Moreover, it seems like everyone struggles with it. With social media and smartphones all around us, it’s like our attention span is near zero. As such, learning how to focus is a must-have skill.

Deep Work by Cal Newport is a bestseller for a reason. It teaches you how to concentrate on the material at hand. It discusses various techniques and ways to overcome obstacles, but it never gets boring, which is the point. As such, it has its rightful place on this list.

Why Didn’t They Teach Me This in School? by Cary Siegel

Regardless of which school you attend, you’re bound to come across subjects like math, history, biology, and literature. However, there’s one thing missing from modern higher education, and it’s called financial literacy. Luckily, Cary Siegel is here to help.

Siegel’s Why Didn’t They Teach Me This in School is one of those gems that will change the course of your future life after you read it. And no, this isn’t some cliché line. It literally teaches you how to successfully handle finances and read opportunities down the line.

The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest

Sadly, most of us sabotage ourselves during life. This is especially true when we’re young and confused about the world around us. As such, we allow perfect opportunities to slip from our hands and wander down the wrong path.

To change this, it’s essential to understand why and how we do it. Only then can we stop the self-sabotage process and make healthy and successful choices. All this is explained in Brianna Wiest’s The Mountain, which is our final audiobook pick for college students.
