Turkish TTS voices are getting better by the day. Read to find out more about using them to create content in this beautiful language.

    Turkish text to speech voices

Text to speech technology is improving every year. We use it in more and more walks of life and for various languages besides English. One such example is Turkish—a native tongue of people in Turkey and Northern Cyprus.

Since almost 80 million people speak Turkish around the world, it’s logical that more text to speech software offers it to their users. Therefore, allow us to introduce you to some of the most popular TTS apps, some of which support Turkish.

Text to speech for the Turkish language

It’s no secret that everything around us is turning digital. Be it documents into audiobooks or school materials into e-learning videos and guides, most of what we used to consume in hand is now displayed on our computer or smartphone screen. And to make this transition work efficiently, modern tech relies on text to speech features.

TTS is a form of assistive technology that utilizes artificial intelligence, machine learning, and optical character recognition. We can run written content through it and listen to our computer or smartphone read the text aloud. Yet, computer speech no longer sounds robotic and fake. Nowadays, it’s read aloud in high-quality AI voices.

Turkish voices are available on almost every TTS app out there. In some cases, there are more than one AI narrators that speak it. You can switch between dialects, accents, and even male and female voices, depending on your needs. Some are more advanced than others, almost to the point of being indistinguishable from actual human voices.

The demand for TTS apps is growing by the minute and to cater to this need, nowadays, there are hundreds of text to speech tools and apps on the market.

With so many of them to choose from, which one do you pick? Well, don’t worry. We’re here to help you with that. Let’s check out five of the best apps that offer TTS services.

    Amazon Polly

Amazon has dabbled in a bit of everything, so they even have a text to speech app called Polly. It’s a wonderful app that offers dozens of natural-sounding voices in various languages and accents. One of these is Turkish voice-over which sounds pretty good.

You can use Amazon Polly for free during a 12-month free trial with AWS Free Tier. Otherwise, you can use a paid plan with a varying fee which depends on the characters that you use. Of course, you must pay $16 for each voice you decide to use, meaning $32 for both male and female versions of the same language.

    Murf

Murf.AI is one of the most popular online text to speech apps out there and for good reason. One of them is, of course, its functionality. To see what it offers, it’s best to visit its website and start a free trial. Nevertheless, we’ll let you in on one thing. Murf supports natural-sounding Turkish voices and there are a few from which to choose.

As mentioned, Murf allows you to try it out for free. This is certainly a pro. Nevertheless, it only lasts for ten minutes, meaning that if you don’t have much experience with TTS apps, you’ll probably fly over some important features. To use Murf to its fullest potential, you can subscribe to several paid plans, each of which offers more than the other.

    Microsoft Azure

Microsoft is synonymous with the world of computers nowadays. Most of its products are top-tier, and the same goes for its voice-over tool. Microsoft Azure is a cloud-based app that works both ways—text to speech and speech to text. Nevertheless, it’s a solid solution for storing audio files due to its ample cloud storage.

When it comes to Turkish, there are two voices to choose from and both are realistic voices. The voices are Ahmet and Emel—male and female. You can change their reading speed and pitch to your liking too. Nevertheless, Microsoft Azure isn’t free. You’ll need to agree on the pricing with Microsoft, depending on your needs.

    Synthesia

Unlike the previous option, Synthesia is an online AI video-generating platform. The idea behind it is to transcribe text into video for various purposes like marketing or employee training. Nevertheless, it has an integrated text to speech feature that supports over 60 languages and accents for different markets. Still, none of them is Turkish.

You can pick between tens of Arabic versions, but you can’t use Turkish, which is a shame. The reason it saddens Turkish users the most is that Synthesia does its work in other aspects really well. It’s a great way to create personalized videos with AI presenters and narrators that save you money and time, unlike when recording with real people.

    Play.ht

One of those text to speech apps that have been with us for years now, Play.ht is a must on any list of TTS apps and it’s not just because it’s one of the oldest. The fact is that it’s one of the best text to speech tools out there. With years of service, it refined its API and accessibility so much that its AI narrators speak perfect Turkish.

When it comes to Turkish, Play.ht allows us to choose both standard and neural (or more lifelike) voices. The latter is more realistic. Nevertheless, both options offer seven different narrators, including male and female voices. To use all the neural voices, you’ll need to invest between $14.25 and $74.25 a month. Otherwise, you can try standard voices for free.

    Speechify

Lastly, we have Speechify. Aside from offering numerous features and being highly customizable, Speechify supports Turkish voices and other languages—for example, Swedish, Portuguese, Korean, and many more. All of them with top-rated realistic voices and can be used to create top of the line YouTube videos.

Unlike most other apps, Speechify is available on all popular platforms. You can use it on iOS and Android smartphones, as an app on Mac computers, and as a plug-in for Google Chrome and Safari.

Try Speechify for free and listen to any news article, web page, document, etc., in the accent of your choice.
