When you use Speechify, you can train yourself to listen faster through the Automatic Speed Ramping Feature. This feature, when turned on from the speed controller, will allow you to increase your listening speed by a few words per minute (WPM) every 500 to 1000 words.
This means that you can train yourself to listen faster effortlessly as you would not notice the subtle difference in speed every couple of minutes.
The average reader reads at about 200 WPM.
Most Speechify users start by listening at around 200 WPM and within 3 to 4 months they are able to listen anywhere from 400 to 600 WPM. ?
? This means that a book that a person reads or listens at 200 WPM will take 7 and a half hours to finish.
? But when listening at 400 WPM they only take around 3 hours and 45 minutes to finish and faster listeners at 600 WPM can finish reading in only about 2 and a half hours.

I have been flailing due to an eye injury on top of Lyme disease on top of long-covid and a herniated disc with neuropathy. Sitting hurts and propping a book while lying down is stressful. Anxiety over not keeping up, ADD with medication fluctuation and nystagmus of one eye, stigmatism with the other eye both before the retina injured has caused duress as an exam approaches in 35 days.
