    Murf.AI vs WellSaid Labs

Many voice generators claim to be the best text to speech software on the market. This review will compare two options that provide high-quality voiceovers. Let’s see how they match up against each other.

Overview of Murf.AI and WellSaid Labs

Murf AI and WellSaid Labs use artificial intelligence (AI) and text to speech (TTS) technology to create human-sounding voices. However, they each come with a unique set of features.

Murf.AI is a speech synthesis platform that lets you convert text into an AI voice. It works similarly to Amazon Polly or LOVO and offers a variety of features like voice changing, voiceover sync, and voice cloning.

    Platforms supported

Murf.AI is a web app, so it’s not platform-specific. You can use it with both Microsoft and Mac computers. There are no Android or iOS apps for it, so you’ll need a PC.

Murf.AI’s main audience encompasses people and companies looking for natural-sounding AI voiceovers. It’s suitable for personal use and different business functions like marketing. It replaces the need for hiring voice actors thanks to studio-quality speech voice.

If you’d like to get in touch with Murf.AI, you can email their team. There’s no live chat or other means of communication.

Murf.AI offers a free plan, which gives you access to all of the platform’s AI voices. However, it’s limited to 10 minutes of voice generation and transcription.

If you want to upgrade, there are three plans available:

    • Basic: $13/month
    • Pro: $26/month
    • Enterprise: $167/month

Note that the above prices apply to annual subscriptions.

    Reviews and ratings

Users generally have positive experiences with Murf.AI. In regard to its main benefits, they highlight the many different voices and the fact that they’re customizable.

On the other hand, some users have complained about the web app glitching and a lack of comprehensive video editing tools.

If you need help using Murf.AI, the company offers Studio Docs that you can browse. You’ll find all the information you need there, but you can also contact the company if you require more help.

    Company information

Murf.Inc is a private company based in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was founded in 2020 by IIT-Kharagpur alumni Ankur Edkie, Divyanshu Pandey, and Sneha Roy.

    Text to speech features

    • Over 120 AI voices
    • 20+ languages
    • Voice changer and audio editor
    • Grammar assistant

Murf.AI features a Google Slides integration. It lets users build a presentation with custom voices directly on the platform.

    WellSaid Labs

WellSaid Labs is another SaaS (Software as a Service) text to speech solution that works similarly to Murf.AI. However, it does have a few distinct features. Let’s have an in-depth look at this TTS software.

    Platforms supported

Much like Murf.AI, WellSaid Labs doesn’t have an app. It’s web-based, so you can use it on any computer but not on any mobile devices.

Businesses and individuals can use WellSaid Labs for many purposes, from podcasts to e-learning YouTube videos, if you don’t want to use your own voice. In addition, the platform’s API makes it suitable for developers looking to add natural-sounding voices to their apps.

You can contact WellSaid Labs via chat during business hours. In addition, you can email them with any inquiries.

WellSaid Labs offers a one-week free trial. After that, you can choose one of the three subscription plans:

    • Maker—$49/month
    • Creative—$99/month
    • Producer—$199/month

You can also choose a custom team plan, which can vary in cost depending on your needs. There’s no free version, so you’ll have to subscribe after the trial ends.

    Reviews and ratings

WellSaid Labs is usually well received by users. Many consider the platform’s simplicity and ease of use among the most noteworthy benefits. Another positive is that the voices don’t resemble AI, as they sound quite natural. That said, the WellSaid Studio’s machine learning doesn’t always yield accurate audio files, as some users have had to revise the text.

WellSaid Labs has a help desk with useful tutorials. As mentioned, their team is also available via chat or email if you get stuck.

    Company information

WellSaid Labs is a private for-profit company based in Seattle, Washington. It was founded in 2018 by Michael Petrochuk.

    Text to speech features

    • Real-time text-to-voice narration
    • Audio files available for download in different formats
    • Custom avatars
    • WellSaid API

Thanks to its API, WellSaid Labs offers unlimited integrations. You can connect your internal programs or use external services with it.

Murf.AI and WellSaid Labs are both great options if you need to add a human voice to images or video content. Despite their similarities, WellSaid Labs looks to be ahead of its competitor.

It offers a wider range of features and integrations that Murf.AI doesn’t support. It is slightly more expensive, but it may be worth it if you’re serious about AI voiceovers.

If neither Murf.AI nor WellSaid Labs seem suitable for your needs, you can check out Speechify. This powerful TTS tool uses advanced AI technology to let you listen to any written text, from short PDFs to audiobooks, web pages, pictures of text, emails, and more.

You can listen to your text in male and female voices that sound crisp and natural, as well as voices in over a dozen languages with even more customizable features. Speechify is an excellent app for students, professionals, and everyone looking for a more convenient learning method. The app is available for Android and Apple devices, and there’s even a Chrome extension.
