What is Fake You and what are its features? And how do you know if you can trust reviews? Read on and learn more.

Text to speech services and websites have grown in popularity in recent years. That is due to their usefulness in many aspects of social media, podcasting, YouTube, and so on. TTS tools are also easy to use, and they do the job quickly, allowing you to turn any piece of text into an audio file without much hassle.

Now, it’s important to mention that there are many different options to choose from when it comes to TTS tools. In fact, there are so numerous that it may seem difficult to choose only one. So, how do you know which one is the best?

Well, the logical first step is to turn to online reviews. You can just look up the service of your choice through Google (or other search engines) and take a look at the reviews. Comparing the number of negative reviews and positive reviews is also another logical step.

But, how do you tell fake reviews from genuine ones? Well, that’s something we will get into today, along with many other aspects of fake reviews. We will also review a few different TTS services to help you get a head start when it comes to choosing one.

    Fake You

Fake You is a TTS website that allows you to turn text into speech while using a variety of different voices. These AI voices include celebrities, cartoon and movie characters, announcers, musicians, and so on. Also, Fake You also allows you to clone your own voice. Essentially, they are deep fake versions of different voices.

    Available Languages

While Fake You does have language options that aren’t limited to only English, they’re still pretty sparse. They include Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, and French. That is fine if you’re only looking for a funny voice for your YouTube video, or TikTok voiceover or are looking to make a silly joke for a friend, but it doesn’t really provide much in the practicality and availability departments.

    Voice Options

As we’ve briefly mentioned before, Fake You has many interesting voices you can choose from. In fact, there are 2,461 different voice options currently available, which allows for a lot of variety for content creators of all kinds.

    Is Fake You free?

Yes, Fake You is free to use. You can essentially just type or paste your text of choice into the website’s Create TTS window. And, it will be ready to go in a few minutes, depending on the length of your text, of course.

Now, if you’re looking for a more serious TTS service with many positive online reviews, Speechify and NaturalReader are both good options.

Speechify not only has many favorable customer reviews, but it also has many useful and practical features. With Speechify, you can create voice-overs and turn text of any form into an audio file: PDFs, Google Docs, websites, and even photographs.

Speechify allows you to import photographs of actual hard-copy documents and turn them into audio files.

It’s also the best solution for both children and adults who have dyslexia or other reading difficulties. Not to mention that it comes with a wide variety of reading voices and many different language options, making it accessible for English and non-English-speaking users alike.

Additionally, to maximize your productivity, you can simply put Speechify in your pocket by downloading the app, which is available for both ios and android devices.

After Speechify, NaturalReader is the next best thing. It comes with a plethora of different natural-sounding voices and has a wide variety of languages you can choose from. Just like Speechify, it also has a Chrome extension, and an app version, which is available for both android and ios.

Naturally, it also supports different text formats, such as PDF and most forms of documents. It’s also easy to use and accommodates specifically readers with dyslexia. It also bears mentioning that allows for bookmarking, which guarantees that you never lose where you left off.

    What are fake reviews?

Essentially, fake reviews are deceptive online reviews that intend to mislead customers and affect their purchase decisions.

Where do fake reviews come from?

So, where do they come from? Well, there are e-commerce retailers who review sites and sell fake customer reviews. Usually, service or business owners buy positive reviews in order to attract more buyers. Likewise, negative fake online reviews are also popular purchases and are usually bought with the intention of taking away business from competitors.

How do fake Google reviews work?

But, how do these fake reviews work? As we’ve mentioned fabricated reviews are a popular form of endorsement. A company or business can do this by posting a positive review of their product or service or posting a negative one on their competitor’s website.

How can you tell fake reviews from real ones?

Telling apart fake reviews on Google or Amazon from real reviews may seem impossible at first, but it isn’t. Here are some red flags that are tell-tale signs of fake online reviews. Firstly, no website or product with genuine reviews will have only 5-star reviews. Even websites with many high ratings will have a certain number of reviews with 4-star or 3-star ratings sprinkled in.

Secondly, false reviews often lack in detail and are generally pretty vague. They also usually have vague or generic titles and are all worded rather similarly. The grammar is often poor and the product reviews are filled with spelling mistakes.

Fake reviews also have a pattern of multiple ratings being made on oddly specific dates, often with gaps with no reviews being made at all. Fake reviewers also often talk about a free product or explain away allegations of scams and lack of refunds. Another way to check reviews is through Tripadvisor, Fakespot, and similar alternatives.

Lastly, if you’re unsure whether a review is fake or real, you can take a closer look at the reviewer’s profile and decide whether it looks fishy or not. If you are sure that certain reviews are fake you can file a report to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission). You can also report them to Amazon since Amazon is known for going after fake reviewers and those who buy fake reviews.

What are the consequences of fake reviews?

Fake reviews can scam customers and hurt small businesses. And, after being scammed by a business, customers will lose incentives to buy from other honest businesses.

What is the difference between fake reviews and fake news?

We’ve all heard of fake news, and it’s hard not to when news outlets often report on events and situations with false narratives. And, fake reviews are no different. However, one thing that sets them apart from fake news is the fact that false reviews are there to impact purchase decisions. Essentially, they’re like the fake news of the business world.

How do fake reviews affect the economy?

Fake reviews can ruin the customer experience, which makes potential customers less willing to buy similar products after being scammed. This affects both the revenue and reputation of businesses.

    How do reviews affect products?

Just like they affect business and the economy, these fake testimonials negatively affect products too. Fake negative reviews can be detrimental to a product, and fake positive reviews can present a false image of a certain product.
