If you just need to occasionally shift some files around and don't want to be tied to a long-term cloud storage subscription plan, then FileWhopper is perfect. We were impressed with the speed of the software and the speed of the uploads, and transferring large files and folders – up to 10 terabytes! – couldn't be much easier. That said, you do of course get many more features with the likes of Dropbox and Google Drive for your money, so they might end up being better options for you – and it's also worth noting that there are plenty of rival file transfer systems out there as well. We'd like to see support for macOS added as quickly as possible too.

FileWhopper only requires paying a one-time fee based on file or folder size. First transfer of up to 5GB is FREE! There is a small desktop app that helps process big file transfers (both uploads and downloads) even quicker and without data loss. The app deletes itself as soon as its job is done.

Works great. I used it to verify whether or not my normal service was working correctly. If you do not have enough activity to need a monthly account, this is unquestionably the way to go. The price is real right, and the speed is excellent.

The steps were easy to follow and the process was short; except for the download time. The explanation of the tiny app was a bit confusing and being suspicious of apps I didn't use it - I should have. As soon as I realized my mistake I would have liked to have gone back and used the tiny app but couldn't. Photo outcome on recipient end is great.

MiMedia doesn’t really address my iCloud pain points, but it does get a few things right. The service provides a web app and Mac or PC software for uploading photos, videos, music, documents, or most any other kind of file up to 2GB in size. The Starter plan is free and includes 10GB of storage—enough to back up your iPhone photos, but nowhere near enough for gigabytes of HD video or the average iTunes library.
