This app should be integrated into teaching curriculum. As a teacher (within the last few years) I went through a workshop where we walked through different simulations of what it was like to try to read/write and learn with dyslexia, and wow, not only students with dyslexia but this app is something that can help in the classroom on so many levels. Thankfully this is something that is now recognized in that learning content doesn’t need to only happen one way. I personally do not have dyslexia but do have reading disabilities and had my eyes checked as a kid because i struggled with reading. I look forward to using this app for my graduate course readings and actually making it through books i would like to read. Thank you for creating this app.

Really helped me teach my son when I had laryngitis.

I am so excited that i found this app. My son who is 23 years old will soon be able to have one more independent ability, that will be to read on his own, in his own time. Imagine picking up the internet and all the words and letters look foreign and your dont know what it means. This will allow him to gain one more ability to be just as everyone else is. This App is truly a blessing, thank you so much to all of those individuals who have made this possible. Blessings to you and all….. Thank You again!!!

Assistive technology is key for my HS aged son. Cliff, your story is amazing, inspiring and you sound exactly like my 16 year old son. He uses a suite of technologies depending on the application. Hope these apps continue to be streamlined and easy to integrate from reading menus to writing a term paper.

When my children were young, Kindle books had a similar feature, and I was able to teach them to read as we read stories together. Then, they split the feature. I have not been able to find a similar feature until now. Leapfrog books did a similar thing. But… that only works for books made for their children’s book library. Other books can’t use this technology. I am also dyslexic, and reading has always been difficult. I absolutely love how the sentence in Speechify highlights, and the word being read double highlights as it is being read. It makes it possible to follow along. I am looking forward to learning to read faster. I also love the variety of voices. Some are much easier to listen to. In addition, I am most impressed with all of the different languages provided! Wow! Cliff, I am so sorry for your struggle. I absolutely relate. Thank you for creating speechify. I will share it with my son, who also struggles to read. I teach disability awareness, and assistive technologies to Scouts. I will absolutely highlight this program as a wonderful and useful tool at our next National Jamboree and beyond. Thank you again! Love it! Plan to use it with elementary students!

My daughter, son, and I are all Dyslexic, AND I’m an elementary teacher with Reading Specialist Level 1 Certification; Speechify is a DREAM! We use it multiple times a day as a family and also for my Reading students. There are a few blips here and there with the speed or words that are skipped over, but overall, this has saved my family, my students, parents and administrators time, time, time! ALL of my students became more fluent on reading their leveled text and accuracy improved within one month of listening to Speechify. I got the same results with my daughter and son at home. It's easy to use and navigate and if you have questions the website is helpful. Although the annual fee is high, I think it ‘s worth it. I highly recommend Speechify for Teachers, Reading Specialists, Parents, Children with learning differences, or ANYONE who doesn't have the TIME to sit and read text.

I struggled to read my entire life. I made good grades but I had to work much harder than most kids. The biggest struggle was reading and reading comprehension. I was slow and would have to repeat the paragraphs to retain the information if that was even possible. When I can hear it out loud I can retain it and understand it in such a different way. My son struggles with the same challenges in school. He is a senior in high school and I just found this right before his last month before graduation. I hope this will help him in college beyond belief and change his life in a way that he never imagined. Thank You for never giving up and accomplishing what you have for others. I am so hopeful. This so far seems like a really amazing app. Trying to find recorded books so that she can follow along with the words has been difficult. Thank you, thank you from a parent and a teacher!

I recommend Speechify to my students who struggle with reading. It helps them enjoy reading.

I hope this will help my son with school and add reading as a leisure activity instead of a punishment.

It’s really neat app. I get matching chapter books for my children Neice’s and nephews. I scan the page , the app immediately knows what the book is. After that I Bluetooth my phone and blast the book it’s really cool

I use this app to help teach my kids how to read! Oh and I pre-load my contracts so I can listen to them on the way to work!! Trust me on this…worth every penny.

I definitely had a problem reading growing up, I could read the words perfectly but I couldn’t retain what the story was about. I would get yelled at for not being able to answer questions about the book. I outgrew it thankfully but it was a really hard time. Fast forward, I have an 8yr daughter who is going through the exact same problem and I got a note from her teacher that she’s not excelling academically in reading. Even though she can read every word perfectly.. I’m so excited to use this app with her to see if it helps improve her reading.

Very helpful tool for a dyslexic. I am an elementary teacher that also raised a dialectic daughter. This is a powerful tool for many!
