Wings of Fire books in order

Fantasy is a genre that usually features supernatural and magical elements that don’t exist in our actual world. Millions of readers enjoy fantasy work because it offers an outlet for their imagination and always offers a new perspective and story. It can be a good way to escape reality and immerse ourselves in a fresh environment that we wouldn’t get to encounter in real life.

Wings of Fire is a fantasy masterpiece series written by Tui T. Sutherland and illustrated by Joy Ang. This series is an excellent example of fantasy aimed towards middle-grade readers. As there are a lot of books in the series, it could be confusing to find the correct one to start with. Here’s a list of all the Wings of Fire books in order as well as a short synopsis of each one.

Wings of Fire books in order

1.) The Dragonet Prophecy

A secret movement named the Talons of Peace wants to bring an end to a decades-long war between the seven dragon tribes. A prophecy can help bring peace back to the table. The Dragonets of destiny, in the form of five young dragons, are in charge of fulfilling the prophecy. But not everything goes according to plan.

2.) The Lost Heir

The lost SeaWing throne heir heads home, but she can’t believe her eyes once she’s there. Tsunami seeks to reunite with her mother and meet future subjects. Her return, however, is far from what she imagined. Betrayal, secrets, and possibly, death await the SeaWings.

3.) The Hidden Kingdom

The Hidden Kingdom tells the story from Dragonet Glory’s point of view. She’s devastated to find RainWings on the treetops who are clueless about Pyrrhia (home to SandWings, SeaWings, NightWings, RainWings, MudWings, SkyWings, and IceWings).

4.) The Dark Secret

This novel takes place in the land of the NightWings, where Starflight, one of the five dragonets, must choose between his friends and his home. Without mind-reading powers, Starflight can’t understand why the NightWings are so mysterious. However, he may be the only hope of ending the war in Pyrrhia.

5.) The Brightest Night

The dragonets have a hard time ending the war in Pyrrhia. The end is near, and the dragonets must bring the war to an end, choose the next queen, and save their lives.

6.) Moon Rising (The Jade Mountain Prophecy)

The dragonets finally bring peace to Pyrrhia. They start Jade Mountain Academy, a school for dragonets of all tribes where they learn to be friends. But not all dragonets (notably Moonwatcher) feel good about the school.

7.) Winter Turning

The IceWing family thinks of Winter as a disappointment. When his sister runs from the Academy, Winter wants to find her and give her a second chance. However, the new classmates, Qibli, Moon, and Kinkajou, don’t let Winter hit the road alone. Still, Winter will have to face his family all by himself.

8.) Escaping Peril

Peril is now loyal to Clay, her long-time dragonet friend. When Queen Scarlet threatens to destroy the Academy, Peril is determined to find her and stop her. Turtle, however, wants to come along, but Peril doesn’t want Turtle to get hurt.

9.) Talons of Power

All ancient prophecies are fulfilled, and the war is over. But dragonets still have enemies, and it comes in the form of a stirring evil that was buried for centuries. NightWing has a prophecy about terrible things happening to Jade Mountain and the earth.

10.) Darkness of Dragons

The terrible prophecy from Talons of Power may come true unless they find the lost city of night. Darkstalker’s return to Pyrrhia could be disastrous. The five dragons can save the world again if they work together peacefully.

11.) The Lost Continent (The Lost Continent Prophecy)

Rumors about a lost continent on the planet of the dragons have existed for a long time. Most dragons rejected the rumors of other, very different dragons living across the ocean until now.

12.) The Hive Queen

Cricket grew up in the hives with tons of questions about forbidden trees, her family, and her immunity to the powers of Queen Wasp. Cricket has to hide again from the queen because she stole an important book. But she is determined to discover the deadly secrets of the queen at all costs.

13.) The Poison Jungle

Sundew dreams of destroying the HiveWings. He wants to wipe out the tribe that tried to rip all trees from Pantala. All trees, except for the Poison Jungle. It’s here that the LeafWing survivors have hidden since the war.

14.) The Dangerous Gift

Snowfall becomes the IceWings queen at a young age. She’s determined to be the best queen ever. However, a storm of mysterious dragons makes her rethink her strategy.

15.) The Flames of Hope
