Looks promising but being a Mac exclusive is a real pain.

About Agenda Notes

An intriguing method for taking notes on a Mac, Agenda organizes your notes based on the dates and times that you specify in your calendar. The application is gorgeously designed, and it has a surprising number of features for a version 1.0. However, it does not have an iOS equivalent (which is currently being developed), and it does not have any features that facilitate collaboration, which will prevent it from appealing to some users. Even though there are some rough spots in the app, Agenda has a lot of potential and should be appealing to anyone who has a lot of things to keep track of on their calendars at once. Notes are arranged in an agenda according to projects, which are a part of categories. Notes pertaining to a specific project are displayed in the middle of Agenda's window, and on either side of those notes are panels that allow you to navigate through your notes. The 'jump menu' is located at the top of the window and is referred to as the 'jump menu' by Agenda. Although it offers a significant portion of the same functionality as the left-hand panel, the jump menu is useful for navigating notes when the left-hand panel is not visible. Your notes take up the majority of the space in the middle column of the window when navigational panels are placed on both sides. The layout offers symmetry and balance, with the focus being placed more squarely on the notes as opposed to the navigation, which is something that I really like about it. Both panels have the ability to be covered up, but I don't find either of them particularly distracting because they can be shrunk down to the size of strips that are not only functional but also very thin. You can create notes in Agenda by either clicking on the plus button that is located at the top of the window or by typing Cmd+N. By default, new notes are displayed at the top of the window in reverse chronological order; however, the order of the notes can be changed by clicking on the name of the project or note in the jump menu. This will bring up a menu that allows you to navigate between projects and notes. A selected note has a background that is light yellow, but other than that, the distinction between one note and the next is primarily determined by the titles of the notes. The following screenshot includes three different types of notes: Test Note, Topics, and Issue 112. The Test Note that is located at the bottom of the window is currently selected, as can be seen from the jump menu that is located at the top of the window. This menu indicates that the note is located in the Weekly project within the MacStories category. The pricing model of Agenda is something that should be mentioned as well because of how unusual it is. The fundamental features of Agenda do not cost anything. The ability to create calendar events, save searches, copy and export Markdown, and other premium features can be unlocked by making an in-app purchase within the app. The in-app purchase also includes access to any new features that are released in the app during the subsequent year after the initial purchase. If you do not pay for the app again at the end of the year, it will continue to function normally, you will continue to receive bug fixes, and any features that you have unlocked will continue to work; however, you will not receive any new features that are added.

I love the feel and layout to this app. I can organize and see my individual lists in a simple way. BUT it is missing 1 big thing and has 1 minor annoyance. It is missing the ability to have daily repeating lists. If you don’t intend to have everyday repeating things on this app, then ignore this part and see the annoyance below. However I have a daily list for the things I need/want to accomplish every common day, but I can’t mark each item complete or I’ll have to retype them tomorrow. Why can’t I set daily repeating reminders for the same time for at least 1 list?! I just don’t touch my daily list, I look at it and it’s ordered how I go about it and I just have to know what is and isn’t done. The annoyance....I like the dark purple theme, it looks great on my lists. But my upper tier list (the list of your lists) doesn’t follow that theme, that tier is ugly bright yellow/orange that I can’t read well, so I can’t use the purple theme on my lower lists because of its opposite effect on the upper tier. If the theme I choose isn’t going to be universal across all my lists, then let me at least change the other tier theme to something else. The dark themes are the only ones that stay constant on both tiers. I’ll stick with boring black or noir until that’s fixed....

About Clear Todos

Clear is incomparable to any other to-do list application that we have tried. It takes the most advantage of the iPhone's multitouch interface of any to-do list app we've tested, using swipes and pinches to not only control the screen you're looking at but also navigate through the app. This is our top pick for best use of the iPhone's multitouch interface. It gives the impression that it provides a workflow that was developed specifically for use on the iPhone. In addition to that, the way it appears to the eye is very well thought out. Despite this, we have no plans to replace our current to-do app with Clear. When using Clear, you will have an experience that is pleasant, productive, and, well, cool. The interface is the point at which everything begins. Clear makes excellent use of the multitouch capabilities already present in Apple's iOS operating system. You won't find any traditional user interface elements like buttons, checkboxes, or anything else like that on this page. Instead, everything in Clear is accomplished through the use of gestures. Do you want to make a fresh list of things to do? Navigate to the page that contains the main list overview, and then drag the lists down. There will soon be a new one. The process of including items on to-do lists follows the same format. By pinching into the middle of the screen, you can move up one level in the app's hierarchy, moving from the to-do level to the list level or from the list level to the settings level, depending on which level you are currently on. Simply swiping from left to right across an item will mark it as finished. Simply starting over will undo that completion. Swipe the screen in the opposite direction to delete it. When it comes to reordering to-dos, you can forget about the standard method of tapping, holding, and dragging on the icon depicting three bars, which is required by the majority of apps. Simply tap the to-do list item, and then drag it. It's not a huge adjustment, but it does sound and read much better. In addition to this, there is intelligence incorporated into to-do lists themselves. For instance, every list features a color-coding system that uses a more prominent font for the items that are considered higher priorities. The items at the very top of the list are displayed in a brilliant red color (this is the default; you can select from a variety of other color schemes), and the colors of the items that follow progress further and further down the spectrum. In addition, there is no prioritization system in place for these items. Simply move an item to a different location in the list, and Clear will automatically assign it a different color based on its priority. When it comes down to it, Clear is a stunning illustration of the kinds of potent and natural apps that can be crafted using the iOS platform.

Agenda Notes reviews

Now that Agenda is available on iOS, I'm using it full time for most of my notes. The design of it is simple and intuitive once you get the hang of things, and I truly enjoy being able to assign due dates to notes. It's useful for this line of work, and the iCloud sync is practically seamless and invisible. It's definitely a flexible note-taking app that can work with you if you experiment a little, since it combines three productivity apps in one. But it's completely free to download and use, with some useful bonus features if you decide to dive in completely.

Clear Todos reviews

Used for years on iPhone happy to rediscover it on Android. Simple, fast, and without confusing overhead. It is more basic gestures wise than to older iPhone app. Hopefully it regains the lost gestures/features like sounds and more. I miss the pinch open to insert an item. Now you have to add then drag and drop. Used to be able to pinch to collapse and close to go back. Several other gestures are lacking.

Been using this app for years and literally couldn’t live without it. As a teacher I constantly have separate lists of things to do and this allows me to keep everything organized and prevents me from having a million sticky notes all over the place that I forget to take with me. The only thing I wish this app had was the ability to send lists to someone, especially if they have the same app. For instance, I use this most for grocery lists and would love to be able to share the list with whoever is shopping with me so we can work on the list together. Would be reallyyyyy cool if you could find a way to work on the same list together (when I swipe something, it does the same thing on their list etc).

I have been using this app for years and love it. It is simple to use when you want to make quick notes and lists, but it also provides options and settings that allow you to do more organization of lists if you want. I recently got a new iPhone and was no longer able to sync between devices. After doing everything I could to work out the problem myself, I contacted Clear via email. They responded within 24 hours with the perfect solution to my problem. I could not be more impressed in a time when good customer service is hard to come by. Thanks, Clear!!
