Most popular feedback for Byword

Byword is comparable to iA Writer and WriteRoom in that they are all lightweight, distraction-free writing apps. However, iA Writer has more features than the others. Byword's strength is its ability to export and publish directly to Blogger, Evernote, Medium, Tumbler, and WordPress. For budget-minded writers who compose reasonably short pieces for the web, it's a fine option. That said, we would like Byword to add a library tool and templates, plus improve its saving options.

Most popular feedback for RelaNote

Relanote outlines quite a few upcoming features on their website, some of which include importing, exporting, themes, and templates for your notes. If you’d like to access these features, you’ll need to upgrade to the pro version ($4 per month) or the team version ($9 per month). However, Relanote makes it clear that the core principle of their app is present in the free version–and that’s enough to get you started.

About RelaNote

Note-taking in Relanote can be done in either a hierarchical or non-hierarchical fashion, depending on the user's preference. Through the use of files and folders, you are able to create some semblance of order, and the use of bi-directional links enables you to connect the dots and see the larger picture. Relanote is able to accommodate your style of thinking since it makes use of the strength of both of these ways.

I feel iOS version is better than Mac version. Would love to see a safety mechanism from deleting files or folders by accident. As of right now, all you have to do is swipe a file or folder to expose the delete button. One touch and file is gone. I accidentally deleted a file once from grazing the button by accident. There needs to be a pop up menu or something to prevent that. Thanks for listening

Been using the Desktop version for several months now. Really enjoyed writing Rich text based documents on my computer with this app. When I finally bit the bullet and purchased the iOS Version, I unfortunately discovered after the purchase that the iOS version does not support Rich text. That detail was at the very bottom of the description and to be fair I made an assumption that the iOS version of the app would work the same as the desktop version. I can’t understand why rich text is not supported, and if I had known (I guess it’s my bad for not reading every single bit of description all the way to the very bottom) that I would be unable to sync those types of documents across devices, I would’ve gone with a different platform.

Byword is my go-to distraction free writing app on the Mac and I used it on iOS for a while— but unfortunately the slow Dropbox syncing led me to explore other solutions for iOS. It seems like updates this year might have fixed this so hopefully it’s better now. I had Byword configured for a Dropbox folder that I use for journal entries and it has a couple hundred markdown files in it plus two sub folders with some text, markdown and a couple of old rtf (rich text) files in them. When I opened up Byword it would hang on ‘Downloading items’ or ‘Syncing Items’ for minutes and it made me nervous to open recent files and create possible conflicts in my Dropbox. That was a big blocker when I just wanted to open the app and start writing. I recently reinstalled the app and also removed the rtf files from this Dropbox folder (just in case) and things seem to be better— fingers crossed.

RelaNote reviews

Relanote also lets you create new notes on the fly, which is a really cool feature. After the @, just type Create and the name of the new note. It's all seamless and doesn't interrupt your writing flow. Once it's all linked, you can quickly jump between notes, seeing all the bi-directional links at the bottom of any note. The Graph view is also an excellent overview to see how any note connects with other notes, like a tree.

It's a mix between Milanote and LivingWriter but one app and 4$ monthly for the Upgrade which seems to not be mandatory unless you want to Encrypt and Share. It's a very simple app to understand from the writing to the graphing. You can even have your different list in different folders of categories. It is not a word processor but if you are looking for free this would be a recommended app and just use a free online Grammarly check.

Relanote is а note-taking app that combines both hierarchical and non-hierarchical (wiki-style) note-taking. By leveraging the power of both methods, Relanote adapts to your way of thinking and allows you to create your personal knowledge base
