We had to type our time in word and then it had to be copied into the other program - not necessarily the program's fault, but just a result of "how it was" when we joined forces with another company. It was too cumbersome and took too much time. Plus the other program was not the easiest to use. Clio is so much better!

We file several types of documents (accounting, hr,contracts,policies). We use a bar-code coversheet workflow to re-direct the document to the correct workflow for further processing. The coversheet workflow allows us to detect blank pages (one-sided vs double-sided) and not import them. This avoids the questions from people asking /thinking a blank page was not imported correctly.

Nice document management, Can be granular with workflows but there is no documentation on workflow creation. This is probably a push to sell professional services
