PracticePanther is a great platform and you should definitely give it a good try during a free trial period. It also has Rules of Court deadline figuring if you're a Civil firm. PP has great integration with QuickBooks on-line. You can print checks directly from PP, or QB online to pay other legal vendors (Chiros, etc.)

The only reason we are still currently with PP is because of the expense and work involved in switching to a different platform. I have been completely unhappy with PP since we made the transition and I remain so.

I love the notifications that offer support and training for new options and/or updates within Clio
I like being able to select certain calendars to see at one time or multiple at once if needed
Like checking into a Four Seasons Hotel

Cons
CLIO is missing some things that I took for granted in other software, the biggest being warning the user when a scheduling conflict occurs on the calendar
One time i really need to client support service emergency bit i was a bad experience to reach and resolve the problem
Our firm experience with Clio was frustration and amazement that other firms use this terrible software
I can not imagine the hours wasted at other firms using Clio
There is no restore your organizations work if a rogue employee deletes it or an accidental deletion without nefarious intentions."

I love the secure client portal, as I often exchange sensitive documents with the client
I love the client notes feature and the calendaring
I purchased PracticePanther about 6 months ago, and I was initially very happy with it
It is good for tasking, time management and to a certain extent document storage
My firm definitely benefits from the ease in generating invoices or case history as well
Sales rep was very proactive and made all glorious representations when he tried to sell us the software, seemingly really proud and confident in the product."

Cons
Wasted hours trying to make it integrated with QuickBooks, only to have PP blame Quickbooks for PP inability to integrate
I spent at least 12 hours and gave up the integration
Switching from our old software to Panther was very difficult
Panther was not able to migrate over our documents from the old software, but rather we did a data dump to an external searchable file
Nothing really that I can think of that I "dislike" about this software
Very time consuming and not realistic if you have more than 1 client utilizing ledes billing
Also, their reporting is horrific as you cannot create your own customized report."
