Glean is a solid app that is useful for recording work meetings, speeches, and classroom lectures. The students I work with and I appreciate the ability to clean up audio after recording as well to filter out ambient classroom noise. The ability to add notes and flag sections of the audio (via emojis) is helpful for pinpointing necessary areas to return to after recording. Other features, such as the ability to add powerpoint slides or the "lightning mode" tool, help make Glean a well rounded notetaking solution. Still, there is room for this program to grow. I think it could be helpful to add more to the "task" feature to help add an organizational component to Glean, and more work could be done to combine sets of notes to make the "reading view" feature more useful. Lastly, while the Glean team is continuing to improve the mobile app, I believe that the desktop version is quickly surpassing it and the missing components become more glaring as time progresses. Still, none of these issues are enough to discourage use of the program. Ultimately, Glean provides more value to university students and professionals by helping to make these communities more accessible.
In the future, learning will be synonymous with gleaning. A more inclusive, effective, and purposeful learning experience is what makes for better learning. There is no such thing as squandered time, either in terms of the number of hours spent in school or the quantity of information learned or your own potential. By assisting students in maximizing the benefits they derive from working with spoken language and making better use of note taking to convert information into knowledge, our learning technology helps to cut down on waste.
There are just two real outliner apps in this planet: Workflowy and this and a few minor ones... Don’t believe the reviews out there saying that Evernote, OneNote, Google Keep etc do the same. How can that be? They don’t. Those who are into this kind of business know what I am talking about. And compare to Workflowy, Dynalist is an even more improved version -except the general look, I think. Workflowy is still the neat one and classy.
Some apps tend to go over the top and it affects the overall experience for a productivity app. This one is simple and functional enough to accommodate your needs.

Seems well-designed overall, initial impressions are mostly good, & functional & easy to use, much more so than many others. Have already run into a several problems, tho, most that really should have been fleshed out by now. And pro is far too expensive for what it is and what it offers, especially considering all the issues.

“Glean has made me a better learner. It has been one of the few things that’s really worked and really helped me capture information and at the same time figure out who I am as a learner. It’s taught me how to take notes and how I want to take notes."
- Samantha, Student, Harvard University
“Glean has dramatically improved my grades. Before I got Glean I was a C- student, I’m now an A student. I wouldn’t do my learning any other way now."
- Natalie, Carleton University
Glean's been a gift for us. It's a gift to show a child that they are capable - that a tool doesn't have to do it for them for them to succeed."
- Jennifer Topple, The Howard School
