“Speechify is absolutely brilliant. Growing up with dyslexia this would have made a big difference. I’m so glad to have it today.“

I was not very satisfied with this app. I use other apps that pickup audio from my surroundings such as SoundHound and they do it with extreme accuracy. I can sit in a noisy restaurant with music playing over the sound system (And at a decent distance away from the nearest speaker) at low volume and it can recognize the song playing even from back in the 50's and 60's! This app, I could barely get it to recognize speech in my car with the radio turned down very low. When it did recognize speech, it was so inaccurate, nobody would be able to decipher afterwards what it was that was said. I had gotten this app with the idea of sitting in class to use it to pickup the instructor during lectures... I did give the app the benefit of a doubt and try it in class. It wouldn't even pickup what the instructor was saying and he was only 5 feet away! This app may work alright if you have a headset microphone and are dictating directly into it but if you plan on using it for any other reason, based off of my experience, forget it.
AnonymousEven if you don't feel like typing, take notes! You can save a note as text by simply speaking it. This notepad app was created to let you quickly and easily record your ideas. And it makes it simple to maintain that organization. Features: * Speech recognition without using your hands with just one button press. * Queryable For streamlined searching, notes are indexed. * The ability to password-protect notes. * Share notes with any app that accepts plain text, including SMS, email, Twitter, and so on. * Add notes in a hurry. Simply slide out your slide-out keyboard to begin typing if you have one. * Accepts shared plain text from other apps. * Notes with password protection are encrypted after the first 20 characters. This enables you to locate the note and search for it while having the remainder of the file protected using the AES encryption standard. The US government and banks both employ this encryption standard. * Star-filtered notes about the stars. * Sort your list by color and color-code your notes. * Sort notes into categories. * Deleted notes are put in the trash so you can try to get them back. Additional Features: * Backup and restore for SD cards. enables you to backup all of your notes and saves them securely to your SD card. * After recording your voice message, click the Continue button to add more spoken text if necessary. You can determine how long to wait before terminating speech input using the Time to Breathe option. * Text editors with full-screen and pop-up options. Quote marks are used. Saying "Quotation Mark" will now add one to your note. Transport Return Carriage Return can be used to mimic pressing the Enter key. * Sharing by Category. An whole category of notes can be shared or exported. * Themes of Light and Dark. Typical usage * Speech to text note-taking that is quick and simple. It "records" your voice as text. does not, however, work as a voice recorder. Editor for text. ListNote can be used as a standard notepad but with enhanced speech-to-text capabilities. * A grocery list. * Color-coded notebook is perfect for making quick notes about items you'll need at the grocery shop. By long-pressing a note and choosing "Change Tab Color," you may create a colored note tab. * Take simple notes. A notepad app that doesn't require you to create an account or upload all of your notes to a server is preferred by many users. ListNote doesn't require an account. You keep all of your notes on your own device. * Software for dictation. Your thoughts can be readily and swiftly written down. The outcome can then be edited as you would with any note-taking program. You can inject speech wherever in the text when updating notes in text view, and you can even undo the most recent speech input if it didn't go as planned. * Protected notes. You can make private, secure notes. These confidential notes are password-protected locked. It's simple to hide text from prying eyes when you lock a note.
A few features would make this perfect. First, if I could use this in tandem with a document writing program, such as Word. Second, if there was a word count somewhere on screen. Lastly, if there were more clear directions for getting the text into the various document writers. Copying and pasting isn’t alway ideal and it can make formatting a pain. Also, I’d like to see Thai added to language options. I didn’t see it. I speak Thai, but am not literate. My family speaks Thai on my wife’s side. I would like to be able to speak to write in order to talk to family.
ChaseMcWebsterInstead of typing, speak your content. No time limit for dictation. Voice memos can be translated into any language and converted to text. Instead of typing, you can dictate, record, translate, and transcribe text with speech-to-text software. It uses the most recent speech-to-text voice recognition technology, and its primary function is text messaging speech-to-text and translation. This app does work on Kindle Fire but you need to search Google for the voice search apk file. One of the other reviews mentions the exact file name. As to this app it's fun but needs work. Someone else already gave a good overview so I'll just say that the most glaring flaw is the apps ability to understand you. It will often put the wrong word if you say something too fast or not clear enough. If you don't continue talking after a certain amount of time it stops recording even if you're not done. Mainly though it's like auto correct but it's listening to you talk instead of type. I think someone who speaks with a heavy accent would find this app hard to use. Although it's really fun to speak fake words and gibberish and see what real words it chooses. It can only put real words. It won't put exactly what you say. So if you start talking about Harry Potter and use some of those unique words from those books and movies it won't be able to. It will put what real words match most closely by how it sounds.

I downloaded this app on my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and it works great! All I needed was a simple app to take notes quicker than I could by jotting them down on paper, and it does precisely that. I really like that you can color code your notes, as well as the fact that you can edit them by switching back and forth between voice and text with ease. The only downfall I have seen is that it does not use punctuation properly, or at all rather. If you're looking to record something and then later copy/paste it to another source, it will definitely require proofreading. But, I was not in need of anything fancy with multiple options, so, this suits my needs almost perfectly.

Usefull app to dictate and transcribe to text. Not completely accurate but just a bit better than the transcription software in Windows Seven on my laptop . Program has bells and whistles to save transcripts in different folders and color code them. You can also type memos. The pro version does not seem to have any additional useful features. My complaint is that you must have wifi active to run the transcription. Program is useful for my wife to learn to pronounce English words properly.

I recently lost my hearing and I'm deaf in both ears. I like your app for one on one conversations. Having extra people in the room makes it difficult because this app picks up everything, including my voice. Only one person can speak at a time. Now I need to find an app that will work with my iPhone so I can do phone calls. I could not find one on your website and this surprised me. I hav not been able to figure out how to save or share a file. I've tried over and over but instructions are lacking.

App shows a menu of supported speech languages but some of the desired language cannot be selected I previously wrote a negative (2*) preview because after i purchased the Pro Version, I tried to set the app to do the voice-to-text in the language i selected but did not see any button or a box to confirm the selected language beside the “Dismiss” option. But after a few tries, I realized that after I selected “Setup” to choose the speech recognition language, I just needed to select “Dismiss” to go back to the interface where I can start the voice-to-text process by tapping on the red button at the bottom of the screen and just said a few words in the previously set language and saw that the speech is being transcribed in that set language. I wish there were some instructions guiding the user on how to set up the app to do the v-to-t in that language. Thus, the 4 stars instead of 5 ones.

And I have used all kinds of dictation apps going back to Via Voice (IBM). Remember that one? Since IBM took VV off the market, Dragon/Nuance has always been the standard bearer, and their products were always good (except for tech support) , but this app is far superior. Works great on iOS/iPADOS/MACOS. Accuracy is remarkable. Corrections done super easy, usually only very minor ones are needed. Customizable UI. Apple share sheet gets you into Messages, Mail, Files app, Notes, you name it. Incredibly fast. Huge increase in my productivity. Try it for free…you’ll see what I mean. Also extremely affordable with flexible payment plans if you decide to buy after the initial free usage. I have tried all the apps currently available….this one is head and shoulders above all the rest.
