“Speechify is absolutely brilliant. Growing up with dyslexia this would have made a big difference. I’m so glad to have it today.“

I was not very satisfied with this app. I use other apps that pickup audio from my surroundings such as SoundHound and they do it with extreme accuracy. I can sit in a noisy restaurant with music playing over the sound system (And at a decent distance away from the nearest speaker) at low volume and it can recognize the song playing even from back in the 50's and 60's! This app, I could barely get it to recognize speech in my car with the radio turned down very low. When it did recognize speech, it was so inaccurate, nobody would be able to decipher afterwards what it was that was said. I had gotten this app with the idea of sitting in class to use it to pickup the instructor during lectures... I did give the app the benefit of a doubt and try it in class. It wouldn't even pickup what the instructor was saying and he was only 5 feet away! This app may work alright if you have a headset microphone and are dictating directly into it but if you plan on using it for any other reason, based off of my experience, forget it.Anonymous

Because some people prefer to use native streaming service apps, such as those for Spotify and Apple Music, Sonos is starting to make its speakers compatible with those. Using the Spotify app or Apple Music, you can send music directly to a Sonos speaker, just as you would with a Spotify Connect speaker or the Apple HomePod, respectively. Sonos has said that this compatibility will be available for more services in the future but has not provided a timeline or named specific services.Dennis Burger

This app does work on Kindle Fire but you need to search Google for the voice search apk file. One of the other reviews mentions the exact file name. As to this app it's fun but needs work. Someone else already gave a good overview so I'll just say that the most glaring flaw is the apps ability to understand you. It will often put the wrong word if you say something too fast or not clear enough. If you don't continue talking after a certain amount of time it stops recording even if you're not done. Mainly though it's like auto correct but it's listening to you talk instead of type. I think someone who speaks with a heavy accent would find this app hard to use. Although it's really fun to speak fake words and gibberish and see what real words it chooses. It can only put real words. It won't put exactly what you say. So if you start talking about Harry Potter and use some of those unique words from those books and movies it won't be able to. It will put what real words match most closely by how it sounds.

I downloaded this app on my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and it works great! All I needed was a simple app to take notes quicker than I could by jotting them down on paper, and it does precisely that. I really like that you can color code your notes, as well as the fact that you can edit them by switching back and forth between voice and text with ease. The only downfall I have seen is that it does not use punctuation properly, or at all rather. If you're looking to record something and then later copy/paste it to another source, it will definitely require proofreading. But, I was not in need of anything fancy with multiple options, so, this suits my needs almost perfectly.

Usefull app to dictate and transcribe to text. Not completely accurate but just a bit better than the transcription software in Windows Seven on my laptop . Program has bells and whistles to save transcripts in different folders and color code them. You can also type memos. The pro version does not seem to have any additional useful features. My complaint is that you must have wifi active to run the transcription. Program is useful for my wife to learn to pronounce English words properly.
I see the hate and love relationship here. The transition between the old and new app definitely messed some people up but not for me. I don’t know how people’s speakers were lost during the transition, but I can only think of it being a WiFi issue or user error. As a person who works in people’s homes, I can say most of the tech issues are because they don’t know what they’re doing. I mean, it could be the app but I’m just saying. I wasn’t able to update to the Gen 2 app because I was still using a ZP80. I had no idea. At first, I thought my whole entire system couldn’t be updated because Sonos called all my equipment old. This made me angry, knowing all my Sonos from barely a year ago is on a decline. Then I noticed that I was able to check the “compatible” equipment, to which is told me my very old connect was the thing holding me back. I removed it and now all my Sonos is under the new app. No issues with the app or speakers of course. I guess what I’m saying here is Sonos poor communication and stating “anything before May 2020” is considered gen 1 is not only inaccurate it makes people think all the wrong things. ALL my Sonos works with the new app, old and new, just not my Sonos Connect from 2015. It still works with the old app, however. Sonos needs to rectify this with their consumers.

App won’t connect to WiFi, even though every other app on the phone works fine. Won’t allow me to submit diagnostics because of the WiFi problem again. Set alarms sometimes work, which is worse than never working. I’ve been late to work because I was relying on it to wake me up, like it had done consistently for the past year. How do I trust this thing again? Bad lag from the time I pick up my phone to the time I can turn up/down the music or change the song. Sometimes I have to wait a full minute. Website says I can continue to use the S1 app with my old equipment if I prefer, but somebody’s lying. Since I signed on the the new app my equipment is now listed as incompatible. TV sound still connects, and I can manually turn on the last internet radio station I was playing on the app, but I have to use the buttons on the speaker and I can’t change the station. Update: After several days and repeated attempts to delete and reinstall the app I appear to have regained control. How long will it last? Pins and needles! The excitement is

I have had 13 sonos devices sense gen 2 came out, like 3 plus years. Everything worked perfectly never a problem. It was easy to add a new product. Perfect. I even had it on the 5G of my dual band network. Then S2 upgrade happened. I have speakers disappearing. I have some of my speakers showing up on different networks. To add a new device forget it. It is such a non friendly user process. I read that sonos does not support 5g. Ok so I tried to change networks to my mesh network. I thought I got it. No I can’t get my play 5, playbar or sub to work with the rest of the system. I have restarted my system, reconfigured my router. Nothing had worked. And depending on the phone I use different devices show up on different networks. I hope there is some improvement to the app, because this has taken way to much time to try figure out. I just want my perfect sonos system back to enjoy all over the house and backyard.
