Our previous website calendar system consisted of our staff manually entering events when the public would email them to us. Even with copy/pasting each field, it would take up some time to process a lot of requests. Now, we can approve or deny events with the click of a button and the public takes the time to format the events themselves. This also allows for required fields so we don't receive events with missing information.

In our particular application, there just isn't very much traffic. The idea of a dedicated event calendar can feel like too much when everyone already uses their own CRM or email lists to communicate about events. More flexible integrations would be a nice feature, like if Localist could pull in events automatically from third-party CRMs. Customizeable reminder messages and follow-up messaging would also add value.

The weaknesses we struggled through for the first 2 years really left it on the back burner as far as fully implementing and incorporating it further into our customer contact operations. Resorted to doing a lot of it manually. As a CRM, it was pleasantly functional until they jacked the prices up after the HomeAdvisor affiliation came in full-bore. Home Advisor's shortfalls are a whole other dissertation.

The webinar on Channels was so confusing that it took me months to figure out what they were talking about
Again, lots of learn-by-doing
We also found an issue with users being able to create their own avatar, in some cases the avatar could be offensive and there is no way to easily "report" that to the calendar admins
Support has been generally terrible
Anything outside of the basic functionality is simply not supported and they have been unwilling to implement ANY requests that we've made
On several occasions the answers provided by support have been blatantly wrong and only through our own channels have we been able to fix problems that the vendor created."

The automatic linking with HomeAdvisor worked well usually
When it did, sending out text message alerts for new leads was a nice feature
Useful helps us on a daily basis keep track of our estimates and appointments
It was extremely easy for our employees to use when they had issues that were IT related
Made it extremely easy to track all the open tickets of issues across the state

Not only is this the SLOWEST software I have ever come into contact with, they also have the worst customer support
Terrible Customer Service from the beginning
They entered all our information for us to get started and then it took months for us to get it the way it would work for us
Inventory does not sync well with Quick Books
