Most popular feedback for OmniOutliner 5

When testing and reviewing OmniOutliner 5, I used the following criteria to find out if it’s a practical tool: Ease of use Functionality Affordability Additional features OmniOutliner meets all these criteria except affordability. The platform is a bit expensive for the number of features offered. If you’re looking to save money in the short term, you might opt for the $4.99 per month plan. However, this limits your options, and many free tools like Draft can do the same thing. OmniOutliner meets the other criteria. It’s easy to use since the dashboard is straightforward, it streamlines your creative processes, and other additional features like multitasking empower busy individuals’ lives.

About OmniOutliner 5

This is version 5 of OmniOutliner, an app that allows you to create, collect, and organize information as well as ideas. It is adaptable, slim, and focused. It's easy to get started with OmniOutliner Essentials because it includes everything you require. The Pro version includes additional useful features, such as smart columns, password protection, keyboard shortcuts, and a great deal more. You can get a free trial of both! Make use of an outline to provide new ideas with structure, rearrange them, and produce beautiful papers that can be shared using themes that are built-in. But it is so much more than simply an outline tool; you get several columns, intelligent checkboxes, pop-up lists, and a styles system that is quite robust. Create a straightforward to-do list, design an agenda for a meeting, make notes, organize events, write anything from diaries to scripts, and carry out any other activity that requires the use of structured text. FREE DEMO VERSION You will have access to all of the Essentials and Pro features throughout the free trial period that lasts for two weeks. After the trial period is up, you will be able to keep using OmniOutliner to view documents at no further cost. ESSENTIALS EDITION FEATURES (AVAILABLE VIA IN-APP PURCHASE) • Filters: To do a speedy keyword filter, you can use the search field located on the toolbar. The number of rows, words, and characters in the document are all displayed in the bottom bar of the window. • Distraction-Free Mode: When you transition to full screen, the toolbar will be hidden for you automatically. • Side Margins: You can set the width of your outline independently of the width of your display by dragging the boundaries of the margins. • Highlighting of the Cell: In order to provide you with additional context, the cell that is currently being edited has its left edge highlighted. • Touch Bar: To quickly access features, use the Touch Bar and change its settings as needed. • Dark Mode: The user interface of OmniOutliner will adjust to match the theme of your project. • Bottom Padding: As a result of the additional padding that was provided below the outlines, you will no longer be required to type at the bottom of the window. • If you want to maintain your eye line consistent while using Typewriter Mode, make sure the current row is in the middle of the screen. • New File Format: OmniOutliner 5 utilizes a new file format known as.ooutline, which is a compressed, flat file that is better compatible with cloud services provided by third-party companies. • Compatibility with Pro Documents: Documents that have Pro features can be viewed in their entirety in Essentials, and there is also the option to import a copy that has all of the Pro content removed. PRO FEATURES (AVAILABLE VIA IN-APP PURCHASE) • Filters: You can create and save complicated filters that are dependent on the status of columns, the data in those columns, and boolean operations. • Encryption with a Password: Protecting Your Documents with a Keystroke or Two (AES-256 encryption). • Slide-in Sidebars: When viewing content in full screen mode, you can temporarily bring up the sidebars by dragging the pointer to the screen's left or right edge. • A preview of the style you are checking is displayed at the top of the inspectors. You can access this preview by clicking the "Preview" button. • Numerous-Row Focus Allows You to Focus On Multiple Selections At Once You can focus on multiple selections at once by command-clicking them in the section list. • Resize Column to Fit: After selecting a column, use the button labeled "Resize to fit" located in the Column Type Inspector to have OmniOutliner alter the column's width. • Column Widths Can Now Be Specified The Column Inspector now provides a feature that can be edited to specify the column's width. Either the width of the columns can be fixed or they can be made to automatically adjust to the size of the window. • Keyboard Shortcuts: Easily personalize the shortcuts to suit your preferences using this feature. • Excel Export: Export to xlsx format. Most popular feedback for Agenda

Agenda is Mac-only for now, but the developer says that an iOS version will be launched in the first half of 2018. That won’t be a deal-breaker for everyone, but it does preclude me from making it my full-time note-taking app. After I began testing Agenda, I took some notes about last week’s issue of MacStories Weekly. Almost immediately, I found myself in Slack on my iPad with Federico and Ryan wanting to refer back to a note but couldn’t. Agenda doesn’t include collaboration features either. Although you can export a note and send it to someone, Apple’s Notes app and third-party options like Google Docs and Quip remain better solutions for collaboration.

About Agenda

The innovative way that Agenda arranges notes onto a timeline helps you move your projects along. The only note-taking software that tracks the past, present, and future all at once, Agenda is the only one that gives you the full picture while other apps concentrate solely on the past, present, or future. Make notes on the items on your current agenda as you get ready for another meeting. You can write them down or draw them on your iPad with the Apple Pencil, your choice. To help you remember why you did what you did, use earlier notes as a trail. Individual notes can have dates attached to them, and you can even link them to events in your calendar. The alternative is to put them "On the Agenda." Agenda-related notes are given a special status. You can find them faster because they appear in a special group in the sidebar and are easier to search for. With more languages being added, Agenda is presently available in English, Afrikaans, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Chinese. Agenda's notes are elegantly styled and loaded with useful tools like tags, links, tables, and lists. A styled-text editor called Agenda combines the simplicity of entering plain text with the visually appealing outcomes of rich text. Headings, lists, indented blocks, and pre-formatted text are examples of styles. You pay attention to the content of your notes, leaving Agenda to take care of the presentation. It produces papers with outstanding visual appeal, consistency, and ease of conversion to markdown and HTML formats. Task tracking is also a breeze with agenda notes. There are other list formats, such as checklists, and incorporating additional in-depth content is a no-brainer rather than an afterthought. You can concentrate on your notes with Agenda's clear, basic design, which gives the impression that they are printed on paper.

OmniOutliner 5 reviews

I've been trying to use Omnioutliner for a couple years. I love the idea of it. I certainly see the potential. However, if you want to hear a user cussing at his Mac, come by when I'm trying to do somethign in this tool. It might be the least intuative piece of software I try to use. - Promoting and demoting- easy tab and shift tab, unelss it defaults for some reason to makeing every return a child. .and then I have search teh manual to figure out why. - Open a OPML Doc. and half the functionaliy is missing. Can not figure out how to update or save as the right file.. - Formating is clugey, have to figure you inspector or formatting window you want, It's a long list for me. Maybe I'm just not that saavy or have a block when it comes to this tool, .. here we are. The good news, and why it has three stars, when I do finally figure out how to make it work, it's great. Sadly that's about 1/2 the time

This outliner app is just clunky and awful compared to other Omnigroup products. Try editing an outline at all or dragging parts of the outline around. You just can’t. Or at least I couldn’t drag a subheading from one top-level heading to another. Also, Select all doesn’t work, but you can hold down shift and select multiple items individually? Not great to introduce friction into an outlining app. I feel like I’m back in the early/mid-nineties when drag and drop wasn’t universal and people were just figuring out intuitive elements of the UI. For $10? No thanks. I’d rather outline things in Omnifocus, as silly as that sounds, but it’s actually way superior app for the task. Save your money and just get OF and export as taskpaper.

I'm unsure what some of the reviewers are experiencing when complaining about cumbersome syncing. When I save an outline to iCloud, it syncs seemlessly across Mac OS and iOS. I can then simply open the file, make any changes, close the file and all changes immediately sync across all devices. Maybe the issue was fixed in response to the reviews. Maybe the reviewers were confused or need instruction on using their devices. Either way, do not let those reviews discourage you from purchasing this great app. Syncing with iCloud is fast, easy and intuitive.

Agenda reviews

This app impressed me more out of the box than anything I have tried in a while. The changes from what loosely similar apps do seem at first incremental but are powerful in a way that opens up very plausible workflows. The key thing is turning a static collection of notes into something that can flow with your calendar - it took me a little while to grasp the intent, but when it clicked and I realized it is not just a notes app replacement I could imagine lots of immediate uses. It is well worth taking the time to find and learn all the features - there is quite a bit hiding under the slick surface (maybe I am slow, but it was the second day before I found the settings button on the right hand slide-in panel) and I already see several reviews complaining about the absence of things that are actually there in the program. You can’t insert images yet but I see from their blog it is likely in the pipeline along with other things, and I happily paid for premium. Thanks to the developers!

I’ve never been able to use traditional paper planners well. While I’ve always seen how they could, in theory, be useful, I’ve tried many times to incorporate them into how I do things, and they always end up abandoned. This app offers some adjustments in just the right areas for me - it has enough structure to help keep me organized, but enough flexibility to rearrange things more easily than trying to constantly rewrite a paper planner. The ability to toggle things “on” and “off” the main list, as well as the ability to link notes to the Apple calendar app are a huge pluses as well for me in keeping the most important things handy at any given time. I also like that other things can be kept a little more tucked away, but still accessible as needed. Long story short, I’m a HUGE fan of this app, and have used it pretty much daily now for about three years. It’s perfect for my needs.

This will be a “I have never written a review before until now” type of review, which is true as I have never taken the time to review an app I’ve purchase/downloaded in the past. After using Agenda for the past week, I decided to make an exception. Agenda is a solid performing useful piece of software. I use it for my work and personal life. For work, I created a work log so I can start my day out with knowing what I have done and what I need to do. I connect my notes to a calendar event so I can track what items came out of the meeting and tasks which need completing. At the end of the day I review what was completed and note what still needs to be done. Rinse and repeat. I do the same for my personal life. I can do this with other apps too. Agenda is different because of the ease of use and all the great features included. Excellent job guys. Keep it up.
